thenodrog Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I thought it was quite witty, even if I don't actually like Diouf as a person at all! Played extremely well today as well. To be honest he has been an excellent addition to the team. One of his main attributes is he can hold on the ball for ten to fifteen seconds no hassle which allows us to load the box. At one point he was toying with three Villa players. Indeed, and that also gives us time to regain our shape when we've been put under pressure. All top players have that indefinable ability to hold onto the ball and not let the opposition near it.

In fact thinking over recent season the only othe player I can think of who could do that is Bentley. A rare breed. Villa really suffered because they couldn't retain the ball in our half. edit - chees 'drog!

Should one of those Dioufs be Dunn?
Bobby G Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 His technique is probably the best at the club alongside Dunny. His first touch is excellent and keeps hold of the ball. I think he is a better player on the left turning inside onto his right foot and sending the ball in, as it negates his lack of pace compared to being forced down the line if he plays on the right side. He put in a number of dangerous crosses without needing to get to the byline in the second half today.
AlanK Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 As long as he can hold on to the ball and cross it then let the spitting racist play in the blue and white halves. Anything to stay in the prem
Hughesy Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Another very good performance from him - superb hold up of the ball as usual and some good crosses too. Keep up the good work. DIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUF!!
67splitscreen Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Oh dear. Diouf & Nelson in fisticuffs. Nah! must be another storm in a tea cup surely.
Backroom Tom Posted September 26, 2009 Backroom Posted September 26, 2009 What the hell, how has Nelsen got any right to have a go at Diouf after his shambles of a performance last week. Who is this Blackburn source as well? BREAKING NEWS: Diouf just kicked a puppy says a Rishton source
Hughesy Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Ha ha - hope Diouf woke Nelsen up with that 'windmill' - pathetic media witch hunt against Diouf. Aslong as he continues to do the business for us, I couldnt give a monkeys what trouble the media try to stir up!!
Backroom Tom Posted September 26, 2009 Backroom Posted September 26, 2009 Also: DISGRACED Blackburn star El Hadji Diouf is at the centre of a new storm following a shameful dressing room punch-up with his own team-mate Ryan Nelsen. If it happened a week ago and both played today I wouldn't class it as either new nor a storm. Pointless, pathetic journalism

67splitscreen Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Who's the one leaking this stuff though, can't see Sam being happy with a mole in the camp.
Hughesy Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Meanwhile Villa fans say some of their fans were racist at ewood
AlanK Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 There thats more like it AlanK. Why thank you old bean
jim mk2 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Pointless, pathetic journalism Two players from the same team fighting in the dressing room ? Damn good story particularly as one of them is a controversial player who was involved in an incident that has dominated the sports headlines this week. Ever thought of becoming a news editor ? Paper would be closed in a week.

Ray-Von Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Looks like Nicko has unearthed another couple of odd tales about Diouf! He has certainly had a busy week.....
Hughesy Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Why is Nicko making a big thing about Diouf being at the Reebok to watch bolton? He played for them for a good spell, his mates go their, he has a house less than 1 mile away from the ground.....FFS is the lad not allowed any time to do what he wants? He used to watch Bolton whilst he was miles away at Sunderland too - hardly a crime is it?!

He used to watch Bolton whilst he was miles away at Sunderland too - hardly a crime is it?! Diouf went to the Bolton v Stoke game last Saturday...just after the nightclub incident...and lapped up the cheers. Then he and his party get attacked in their car by Stoke City fans...this is the night before the Everton trouble kicked off. Despite that Diouf and his pals go to the Bolton v West Ham game on Tuesday - when Rovers are playing - and he gets more of the singing tributes from Bolton fans. There are times when players - on good wages - should really just keep their heads down.
Exiled_Rover Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 I don't see the issue with him going to watch Bolton. Allardyce must have given him the night off so he's free to do whatever he wants with it, assuming it's legal of course.

Ninjathunder Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 It's a non story. Posted my comments on the NOTW website, not so much about the article itself as one of the comments posted. We'll see if a more balanced view gets approved.

The night of the Forest game ? If that is correct Diouf out of order and Allardyce should come down on him hard.
thenodrog Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 The night of the Forest game ? If that is correct Diouf out of order and Allardyce should come down on him hard. He might even have sent him with his blessings. Not an issue. Rem Nov 22 BWFC v BRFC.
Backroom Tom Posted September 27, 2009 Backroom Posted September 27, 2009 Really now? Really? This is getting ridiculous. I take it we will be seeing stories in the paper every time any player goes to see his old mates play? Funny thing is I don't remember seeing any when Dunny used to watch Rovers whilst at Brum.
