Steve Moss Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I've never seen a Blackburn game in person, only on televesion. From that perspective, sometimes Diouf looks good and others like he's just marking time until he can punch the clock. He's too erratic a player for me. And his off the pitch behavior is poor, which doesn't help matters any.

Alan75 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Well, if he's to go in January someone has to make an offer for him first... Now we all know Diouffy likes nothing better than a bit of publicity so I'd take his comments with a pinch of salt! What will be will be as someone I can't remember said. Doris Day - Que Sera Sera
gumboots Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Isn't Diouf in Angola all of January? Can't spot senegal on the list of qualifiers
ABBEY Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 ok...WTF does this nice chap actually do for us?
Majiball Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I've just been reading some comments on the LET, and people are saying that Diouf is on £2million a year??? No wonder he was cheap, time to move him on to Hull if thats the case.
Gav Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 ok...WTF does this nice chap actually do for us? When he arrived he had that bit of spark about him that the rest of the team seemed to feed off, now he doesn't have that, he brings nothing to the table. He’s apparently on big wages and should be sent packing in January, and really should have never been bought.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Nobody but nobody is going to take him on with those wages. We are stuck with him.
Steve Moss Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Nobody but nobody is going to take him on with those wages. We are stuck with him. Maybe one of the Arab teams would take him.

He’s apparently on big wages and should be sent packing in January, and really should have never been bought. Couldn't have put it better. We were crying out for some width at the tail end of last year and EHD did okay. He held the ball up reasonably well, won us a few free kicks and grabbed that all important equaliser at Fulham. Asides from his goal against Wolves he has done absoloutely jack this season. Big wages and a big ego. Trust me if he does get dropped then he'll be kicking like a mule. Hull may get desperate in January?
JAL Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 ok...WTF does this nice chap actually do for us? NOTHING except bring disharmony cause hes a w@nker of the highest order Rovers need to get this specimen out of the club as soon as is practically possible.
S15 Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I think Diouf would be a really good player for us in a midfield with another couple of quality players in it. If Sam can take care of this in january, EHD may become an important player for us.

The player is an out and out liability hes argueing with nearly every Rovers player all because they see that he aint pulling his finger out for his team mates. Respect for Diouff seems to have all but evaporated never ever to return.
RoyRover Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Maybe one of the Arab teams would take him. They'll take anyone, especially a name from the Premiership. I've said it for a long time, but Diouf is totally wick. When he arrived, he added the bite and determination we needed to survive. This season he has done nothing. He has no pace, can't beat his man with some skill, he doesn't really cross the ball much because of the last two reasons and he isn't a goal threat. If he is indeed on £2 million a year, he needs to go. When were looking to reduce the wage bill, he should have been top of the list.
Exiled in Toronto Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 won us a few free kicks and grabbed that all important equaliser at Fulham. And even then, Benni was stood a foot away from him and could have put it in with his knob. Pathetic return from nearly a full 12 months of this waster.
JAL Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I disagree, I bet he's a popular squad member. It doesnt come across that way at Ewood.

However your going to have to explain what you mean by he's totally wick? Guess I'm getting old.

Wick is a word used in Ireland when you are young and is a polite way of saying something is crap or s**t! It's an underused word in later life, but is a great way of describing the uselessness of something or someone. It perfectly sums up Diouf's contribution on the pitch!

In years gone by "WICK" was a word used in parts of Lancashire for child who was quick and full of life.
DanLad Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 In years gone by "WICK" was a word used in parts of Lancashire for child who was quick and full of life. I've always known wick to mean quick. It's definitely a local saying, though, I wouldn't expect anyone in Dublin to know that it's not a word that will be used in Lancashire for El Hadji. Wick, he ain't!
Majiball Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Thanks guys. Diouf is certainly Wick at the moment (Irish version). He is a bit of a journey man so you never know he may move on. We have to sort out our wage structure this summer and if he's really on that kind of money then personally I'd be looking to move him on. I've always felt that our policy of having a great 11 supported by a not so good squad would one day bite us in the ass, there no pressure on the 1st 11. I'd like Hoillet to be given some time instead of Diouf or sub him off for Hoillet if he's playing "Wick (Irish)". If Hoillet was to do alright then Diouf might have to up his game to stay in the team. Our team pretty much chooses itself these days and that will only build complacency.
Hughesy Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 NOTHING except bring disharmony cause hes a w@nker of the highest order Rovers need to get this specimen out of the club as soon as is practically possible. Nonesense - Diouf is one of the most popular players with the staff and other players - he is one of the jokers of the dressing room. £38k is alot for him...but we got him for something like £750k and he did a very important job for us last season. This season he hasnt been on fire but he has been nowhere near our worst performer. At the moment there is still room for him...If we improve then it will be time for him to move on...and im sure there will be plenty of options for him, so it wont be a worry to Rovers that they 'cant' get him off the wage bill if they want too.
