Our home PC, running XP, has three seperate users. My lad has used Messenger for a long time. Recently WLM has started to open whenever I or my wife log in to our desktops. I've unchecked all the usual bits in Preferences / Options but still can't stop it running on Start Up.

Any suggestions - removing the programme completely is not an option

Have you changed the service type to manual instead of automatic? (right click my computer/manage/services and it should be in there)

Or you could type "services.msc" into Run, then go to the startup section and un tick it there

Can't see anything there which looks likely

@#/? sorry, its actually "msconfig" and then you should see the startup tab!
