Ste B Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 The new server is installed. At some point very soon the database will be moved. This will alleviate any performance issues. Then the rest of the site will follow. I dont have any more specific dates as yet. Once its all done, we'll start turning features back on, replying to mails and allowing new registrations

bellamy11 Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I think I know when the database will be moved
Wolverine Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Thanks for keeping the site going! We should organise a fundraiser/booze up...
hawkiiz Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 We should organise a fundraiser second that. did this whole fresh-up clean you pockets completely? let us help pay the bill
AlanK Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Who does pay the bill? I know we had a whip round a few years ago but that must be well spent.
Ste B Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 For information - the site will move the database tonight, so the message board will be unavailable for a short period of time.
Mike Graham Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 many thanks to Ste, Glenn and co. If you want a modest donation i'll be happy to help Mike
Fylde Coast Fan Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I'd love the opportunity to donate a few quid if it'll help keep the site ticking along.
DeadlyDirk Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Any ideas what time the move is tonight? Will it mean the board is closed all night basically?
Ste B Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 Any ideas what time the move is tonight? Will it mean the board is closed all night basically? In all honesty, I don't know. Our host is doing this for us. If we were to do it, the board would be down for a hell of a lot longer.

You said the 1st move was to be made yesterday night, or, did you mean tonight? Thanks
Sandiway Blue Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 The idea of a fundraiser is a good one, maybe Brownie could help venue wise?

Ste B Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 The move was made sometime yesterday afternoon. Its likely that this affected the site at the time. I've attempted to reenable all the old functionality. A further move of all the non messageboard components will be made soon, but we hope to make this seamless.

Thanks.
