mhead Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 And Ince is the only one who saw this....pity he bought Grella and Andrews. Everyone else i.e. Hughes and Sam have fiddled whilst Rome burnt. You cannot survive in the Premier League without a combative midfield. So if we stay up this season you have to worry about next season already.

92er Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 And Ince is the only one who saw this....pity he bought Grella and Andrews. Everyone else i.e. Hughes and Sam have fiddled whilst Rome burnt. I imagine if MH had had £5 mil to spend on the midfield he would have done something about it.
brfcs5359 Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 I imagine if MH had had £5 mil to spend on the midfield he would have done something about it. Mark Hughes has already demonstrated that Lehman Brothers, Madoff Investments and the Royal Bank of Stamford are better invetsments than the turkey's he's bought for Man City.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 I just hope we can survive with more than one game to go, if we have to win on the final day you just know that we will bottle it.

Who has he bought apart from Bellamy and Given? Both of those seem to be doing well for him.
SoccerHQ Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I just hope we can survive with more than one game to go, if we have to win on the final day you just know that we will bottle it. Doubt it, West Brom are utterly awful.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Doubt it, West Brom are utterly awful. The same could have been said last season in regards to Birmingham, a victory on the final day would have seen us make europe, instead we got hammered. We have a history of making a real mess of it when the pressure is on, so i'd like to see us safe going into our final game.
Hughesy Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 It will need to be achieved 3 games from the end then, because we wont be getting anything at Chelsea away with it being Hiddinks last home game.
SharrockDownSouth Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 My bottom half from the BBC predictor: 11 Portsmouth -16 41 12 Bolton -17 41 13 Fulham -8 40 14 Hull -22 39 15 Newcastle -16 37 16 Sunderland -19 37 17 Blackburn -20 37 18 Stoke -20 37 19 Middlesborough -26 34 20 West Brom -38 26 Those goals at the Emirates could very much be back to haunt us!
alexanders Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 My bottom half, and I have to say I was very pessimistic so I can't understand how I was able to get us on 12th. 13 points . 1 vs Lpool 3 vs Stoke, Pompey, Wigan and W Brom
jonv Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 My bottom half, and I have to say I was very pessimistic so I can't understand how I was able to get us on 12th. 13 points . 1 vs Lpool 3 vs Stoke, Pompey, Wigan and W Brom ...nor how realistically Liverpool finish 1st
alexanders Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Haha. I think you misunderstood. 1 pts vs Liverpool , not Liverpool 1st place !
brfcs5359 Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 All the predictors seem to indicate one thing. It will be 36/37/38 borderline. I haven't seen one that shows 39 and relegation (or 38?) Two wins and two draws, whilst a bit scary seems likely to be enough. Rovers have a tendency to finish strong so I would hope we'll be somewhere in the early 40's though injuries are piling up.
Earlydoors Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Weekly Predictor Update 12 Blackburn 45 13 Bolton 45 14 Stoke 44 15 Portsmouth 44 16 Newcastle 42 17 Hull 40 18 Sunderland 39 19 Middlesborough 36 20 West Brom 35 Next two games are crucial though ... West Ham and Tottenham at Home.. it's about time we took points from these two
roversmum Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Soccer HQ - Doubt it, West Brom are utterly awful. lol, we are the Rovers. We can be worse
jonv Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Haha. I think you misunderstood. 1 pts vs Liverpool , not Liverpool 1st place ! my bad!

Ha I remember that, helped us reached the Intertoto and europe which proved to be a complete waste of time. Difference there is you were away and despite being relegated, blose finished very strongly at home in the run in. To tell you how bad West Brom are, you managed a point against them with 10 men under the leadership of Paul Ince.

OJRovers Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I think we have to be optimistic at this point, its in our hands and we have: Pompey (h) Wham (h) Wigan (h) West Brom (h) Spurs (h) Stoke (a) We should be able to get 10 points from those games, and any other points are a bonus.
John Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Started to feel quite comfortable about things recently. Think it is maybe the fact we have not been in the bottom 3. Premier League relegation battle Reading our section gets the nerves going again. Prospects: Blackburn must recover from their 4-0 thrashing against Arsenal and get a result against West Ham at the weekend. Only one point above the relegation zone, and with fixtures against Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea ahead of them, Blackburn have their work cut out. Discipline will be the watchword for Allardyce. Injuries, meanwhile, could be a serious problem.
Amo Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Rovers were given a 2/5 rating of survival in the Local Portsmouth rag, whereas Pompey got 4/5. Go figure.
