jim mk2 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Has it been spotted by anyone that West Brom could win against puffed-out Man City today - and then have a home game with Sunderland to bring them back into it? Just to make the weekend complete... And a Newcastle win today would make the weekend a disaster. I wish you wouldn't say it with such relish. Anyone would think you're an Owen Coyle / Burnley supporter....

tony gale's mic Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Anything over 38 points will be safety this season.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 On current form, we're the worst team in this division by a fair way. I can't see where our next goal is going to come from never mind our next point. Our current strategy of keeping it tight at the back and waiting for a gift is working in the opposite direction. Any body counting on 3 points against the Baggies - all I can say is you haven't been watching Rovers as long as I have. I've seen us go down 4 times in my lifetime and we,ve usually gone down without much of a fight. As you can see I'm a pessimist but my son is ever the optimist, however he said to me at the start of the season- " I'm worried this time dad, we've got a weakened team with a weak manager ".
tony gale's mic Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 On current form, we're the worst team in this division by a fair way Rubbish. Unless by current form you mean the last two games, in which case it's a very poor argument.
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Just settling down to watch Spurs Barcodes with my morning cuppa and they seem to be playing an entirely different sport to the one we witnessed yesterday. After 7 minutes the ball has yet to leave the surface of the pitch and apparently players are allowed to pass to their team mates. Newcastle VERY lucky not to have a defender sent off after just 2 mins - I hope this isn't an omen of it being their day
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 YES!!! 1-0, good goal thoroughly deserved
Paul Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Five Live are describing Newcastle as an absolute shambles. We just have to hope Spurs don't make the same mistake today as they did at Ewood.
Eddie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 HT and they look terrible. I actually think we could beat them and that's saying a lot. Spurs need to get a second though.
Guest Kamy100 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Newcatle have been a shambles, however Spurs are only 1-0 up, they should have been 3 or 4. I expect Newcastle to improve in the second half.
1864roverite Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 You know what happens when a team like Spurs dont take their chances
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I'm cheering up fast - Shearer and Dowie appear to be clueless - but an ealry Spurs goal in the 2nd half would be nice
Eddie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 "Quite possibly the worst first half I have EVER seen. I've been holding onto hope and stuck to the belief that we would pull together and get out of this mess. however based on that performance, we haven't got a chance in hell! On the bright side, in the last few games we have ALWAYS had one good half, one bad half. Lets just hope that wasn't the good one." Newcastle fan on BBC...sound familiar?
Backroom Tom Posted April 19, 2009 Backroom Posted April 19, 2009 I can see Newcastle fluking something here. However they look truly awful and need to shape up big time to even have a chance of staying up.
G Somerset Rover Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I can see Newcastle fluking something here. However they look truly awful and need to shape up big time to even have a chance of staying up. Ditto. Tottenham havent made them pay and I can see them grabbing an equaliser soon.
Backroom Tom Posted April 19, 2009 Backroom Posted April 19, 2009 I think I spoke too soon, Spurs are now lloking poor and letting them back in the game. Next goal is crucial to our season as well as many others
Eddie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 With Martins on they now look dangerous. Would love to see him at Ewood.
Paul Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Well I saw this at Ewood and now I'm having to listen to it
Backroom Tom Posted April 19, 2009 Backroom Posted April 19, 2009 With Martins on they now look dangerous. Would love to see him at Ewood. Agreed I've always rated him even if he is inconsistent
stuwilky Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 On current form, we're the worst team in this division by a fair way. Genereeally you measure "form" over 6 matches. I reckon we're about 12th.
Dan Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Is the guy doing the BBC's live text service Tom Huddlestone's boyfriend? Really bigging him up every two minutes.
Backroom Tom Posted April 19, 2009 Backroom Posted April 19, 2009 Get in. finished 1 - 0. Huddlestone was class I thought, we should have gone for him a year or 2 back
Eddie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 We should be so happy that there are so many other poor teams this season.
