I agree with Soccerhq re the overblown reactions although we did get relegated from a more comfortable position than we have now in '99.

The key is to get ahead of Hull which means improving our goal difference relative to them by just 1 over an apparently easier set of fixtures.

If we do that, we are safe from any revival from Newcastle which looks tricky given their remaining fixtures anyway. Bork are in really deep trouble needing at least one highly improbable win before they start to worry us again.

For all the angst about 3 terrible performances, we did collect 3 points from them and gain 2 points over Boro, Hull and Newcastle. Before that we played West Ham and were pretty good and extremely unlucky not to win.

Forget anything pre spurs our future all boils down to us having to possibly finish the season with just one half fit striker and a bunch of players who apparently object to playing 4-5-1 because of it. Maybe Sam should ask Moyes to explain to them how it's done.

We should be fine if today's Daily Telegraph is anything to go by. After tomorrow we're away and then at home to ourselves! Mind you they have both matches down as draws....

Their prediction is that we will finish 15th on 38 points, having drawn 4 of the last 5, losing to Chelsea. They have Newcastle, Boro and WBA going down.

Don't know if any of you are watching and they may still lose heavily, but worth noting that Hull are actually attacking Liverpool and look somewhat threatening as a result.

Hull will have a fully fit group of strikers - and a better midfield than us [i.e. they wont have Mokoena and Andrews in their midfield].

West Brom 1-0 v Sunderland, still too late for them to stay up i think so good for us

This is right, people are all too quick to forget how we approached the United game when we had a somewhat healthy squad.

Did people really want us to go all out attack at Liverpool with a reserve team attack?

* 01 Myhill

* 21 Ricketts

* 24 Zayatte

* 06 Turner

* 17 Kilbane

* 07 Fagan

* 20 Boateng

* 22 Marney

* 10 Geovanni

* 08 Barmby

* 18 Folan

How many of those players do you want us to bid for in the summer?

As for the United game, we were thumped up until a goal against the run of play. Great play from us for the last 60 minutes, but we were lucky to still be in it until the goal.

That's a better midfield and strike force than we can currently muster Eddie.

...or Dunn , Treacy , Pedersen , Grella etc ...etc :unsure:

Which reminds me ; I hope to goodness that Tugay starts tomorrow - even ageing class is better than none at all .

Just hope it's not Moko and Andrews, or we're doomed!

Boy oh boy do we need to win tomorrow. Results all going our way today and we desperately need to capitalise.

Until Bolton equalised it was a perfect afternoon, it's still looking like it could be a brilliant one for us though.

Big few minutes ahead, if hull rescue this they will believe they can stay up, otherwise it may look bad for them.

If they lose I really feel a win for us tomorrow see's us just about there
