Could give them a boost going into their final fixtures. Like i said on another thread we need to get our survival secured before the final game of the season.

West Brom's attitude seems to be "If we're going down, you're coming with us!"

Hull 1-3 Liverpool FT

bet sunderland were thinkin of 3 points and not having their g/d wrecked! brilliant, brilliant set of results............3-0 to wba will mess their heads up for the run in...........arsenal need to thump boro tomorrow and pompey beat newcastle and i'd accept only getting a point tomorrow as a decent weekend.

Well we've moved up a place without playing so thats good, do the business tomorrow now and we're all but there.

A win tomorrow puts us on 37 pts - I can't see that being enough. Newcastle could well get three home wins, putting them on 39 pts. Hull could well pick up another 3 or 4 pts as well. IMO, we'll need a point or two more than 37. Maybe even 40 points will be needed.

Sorry Den what I meant is all we'll then need is a point or so out of the remaining games and you'd expect we'd manage that.

Tomorrow is huuuuuuuuuuuge, lose there and confidence will be rock bottom.

37 with a decent g/d will be plenty..................how many matches in all competitions have newcastle won this season? and people think they'll win 3 consecutive home matches, not happening. Pompey have a half decent defence, a mildly creative midfield and crouchy up front. If u picked a team from both squads there would be way more pompey players in it than newcastle........i just don't see newcastle getting more than 5 or 6 points.

That's irrelevant now. For them, it all starts this weekend and they know three home wins will give them a great chance of staying up.

People

the only thing that is relevant is how Rovers fare tomorrow afternoon.

3 points is a must, its simply such a massive game even VE day pales into insignificance.

To win is simply putting massive pressure back on Newcastle, even more so if l'Arse put Boro to the sword before our game. What impetus that game could give Rovers in the knowledge that today, all the results went our way and Boro have just been slotted at The Emirates.

The crowd can get us going tomorrow. Unfortunately, I am with the suits in the corporate lounge but believe me it will will be loud especially with the pie eating fans in the group.

be loud and proud people, tomorrow is what counts.

Excellent results today for us.

Pompey remember go to Newcastle knowing a win keeps them safe in the PL and enables their take over to proceed. A defeat keeps them in relegation trouble which could spell administration in the summer.

I've heard no more from Portsmouth recently than I've heard at BRFC concerning takeovers. Why should takeovers be so important for them in the summer yet in BRFC terms you do nothing but downplay takeover possibilities?

Results could not have gone any better today... even Bolton's draw doesn't concern me because I count them as safe anyway.

Winning tomorrow will be a massive step towards safety... it's an opportunity we cannot afford to throw away.

Give a reason?

They've won 4 at home all season... to ask them to now win all of their remaining 3 is a lot. They'll have their hundred million fans cheering them on but it didn't make a difference when King Kev first joined last year, nor in Shearer's first game, they were as awful as they've always been.

They could win Monday, but it's hardly a forgone conclusion because... they're crap.

Results have gone our way today. Win tomorrow, and we are in a very good position to stay up. A win for Arsenal against Boro, and either a draw or loss for Newcastle will see us 6 points clear of those 2 and then its basically a win or 2 draws to be safe. 39 points im confident will keep us up. Hull play Man United next i think, and i cant see Hull spoiling Uniteds march to the title.
