So you don't think any of those teams are capable of beating a top half side between now and the end of the season?

So we'll draw at home to Wigan and beat City at the Coms blue n wite rover!....

Why not? I wouldn't be surprised if the results go like that. Nothing special about Manchester City at the moment why not go there and win?

But the flip side is that there will be 51000 black and white mongs roaring the home side on !

You really cannot use the word "@#/?"especially now the "Bolton @#/?"is our manager.

Expect to be reprimanded.A bit petty, yes, but these are the good folk of East Lancashire.

Why should that make a difference. Supporters can roar all they like but it won't make 11 crap players do any better.

Ask the 3000 who went to Stoke last week!

According to your calcs DE , we're safe now!!

Yeah, I know... and we may well be. I thought long before this that it may be a record-low tally required to stay in the league this year, such is the dross below us...

My results are pretty much the 'obvious' results, I imagine there'll be a few surprises, and who knows, maybe Newcastle will improve dramatically... but I still think the results I gave are a fairly balanced view of the upcoming fixtures based on the form of teams around us.

The only worry I've got is the last day----------Manu will have the title in the bag when they play Hull. Ferguson will put out the third team and we'll be facing West Brom who probably will have no fear because they will already be down. Got to have survived before then if my health isn't to deteriorate.

Well we've moved up a place without playing so thats good, do the business tomorrow now and we're all but there.

I think we were saying that before the Stoke game as well..........

Great results for us yesterday but they won't count for much unless we can do the business tomorrow.

As I've been saying for a couple of months, we have to get to a minimum of 40 points, other results don't really matter.

Rev i think it might be a point or 2 less than 40 to survive this year. 38 or 39 might be enough i reckon, based on the teams below us run in. That being said, Rovers being Rovers will not make things any easier. We might indeed go to the last game needing a result. Today its vital we get a win, as the pressure would then seriously be on Newcastle tomorrow.

That might indeed turn out to be the case but we can't rely on that.

We have to look after things at our end and leave the other teams to do the worrying about whether 35 36, 37, or 38 points etc. will be enough to survive.

Lol, well if u dont want to play midfield then i will. The Arsenal vs Boro game today, i will be closely watching. Arsenal win and a Rovers win will just be great, and will set us up nicely where we might need 2 draws to be safe.

It looks like the big club are having doubts about next season

Alan Shearer may be confident that Newcastle can avoid relegation but some fans have detected signs of doom in last week's launch of the home kit for next season - there were no Premier League badges on the shirts in the promotional pictures, in contrast to those unveiled by Arsenal and Manchester City recently.

That said, players modeling the kit did include Michael Owen, who many think will leave St James' Park whether the club stays up or not. (Mail on Sunday)
