Balwer Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I see it as follows: Robinson Ooijer Samba Nelsen Warnock Diouf Grella Dunn Pedersen McCarthy Santa Cruz if we get the lead we might be tempted to push back to a 4-5-1 with Carlos sitting in behind Roque or something. Think the Subs will be: Bunn, Simpson, Givet, Andrews, Tugay, Roberts, Villaneuva As I said before, would prefer to see Givet starting somehow, because Ooijer is the weakest link.

Backroom Tom Posted February 7, 2009 Backroom Posted February 7, 2009 I'd go with the above team with givet in for Ooijer, Young vs Ooijer terrifies me
LeChuck Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 We could still go either 442 or 4231 depending how we use Diouff. Will be interesting to see how Allardyce plays it. Come JBN, drop that extra 'F' because it becomes a habit! I'll be really interested to see how we line up today...usually you can put 8 or 9 definite starters in every game, today I don't have a clue though.
Backroom Tom Posted February 7, 2009 Backroom Posted February 7, 2009 Homepage says 7 changes to midweek and diouf only on the bench! Full team to follow
alexanders Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 ROVERS: Robinson, Ooijer, Samba, Nelsen ©, Warnock, Dunn, Grella, Andrews, Pedersen, McCarthy, Roberts. Don't like that Ooijer is up against Young.
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Surprised to see Diouf not playing IMO a midfield of: Diouf Grella Dunny Pedersen looks better than Dunny Grella Andrews Pedersen I guess Diouf isn't match fit...
Balwer Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Hope Diouf comes on for Andrews in the second half. Agree with the worries about Ooijer on Young.
DeadlyDirk Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Ashley Young vs Ooijer has to be the battle to watch today.
alexanders Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Ashley Young vs Ooijer has to be the battle to watch today. Maybe we are lined up like this. Grella Andrews - Dunn - Pedersen In that case Grella will be able to tear up the play and help both Warnock and Ooijer with their jobs.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 just setting off. The team looks as goods as it can be. Very strong looking bench for the Rovers. hope Grella and Dunn stays fit for 90 minutes
waynerovers Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I think Sam's plan here is to keep it tight in the first half then bring on Diouf and Santa Cruz in the second half to help us get a goal and open the play up a bit
T4E Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Roberts playing makes good sense. Santa is out of form and Benni/Roberts have been playing well together. More pertinently however, in todays game we're likely to be run ragged at the back at times, when the defence clears the ball we're going to need it to stick to give us some respite and allow the back four to regroup. Roberts should offer us that outlet.
Amo Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Judging from our bench, I predict another second-half fightback.
budha Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Dunn on the left and MGP on the right? So far yes.
Rovers in America Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Lucky to have that one called back. Escaped that defensive lapse.
budha Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Not much offensive action from the wings as both Dunn and Pedersen drift towards the centre with ball.
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Going to get punished if we keep giving away freekicks in dangerous areas.
RibbleValleyRover Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 F**k off Villa Poor defending and in all likelyhood game over. They are a counter attacking side, they will just wait for us to push for an equaliser and hit us on the break.
Mr. E Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 1) The few players we have bought don't even get to play. Why? 2) Why, why, why is Andrews playing? This is a worse decision than anything Ince came up with, including buying him. 3) Anyone who thinks Robinson is a decent GK is simply mental.

We all like to vent, but with you it's every post. Chill out a bit dude Seriously though, Roberts and Andrews ARE ###### personified. Ok Roberts scored a half decent goal against newcastle(fluke), but he just looks so inept. Get Roque on asap.
Wolverine Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Anyone remember when we used to fill ewood and sing like villa are doing?

Roberts - McCarthy are one of the only good things in our side.
