We're out.

Hang your head Sam Allardyce and the players.

Two attempts to beat an average Championship side.

Did we got out playing some flamboyant stuff? Fielding a bunch of exciting youngsters? Letting Villaneuva loose and playing in his best position? Developing new strategies that can be applied in the league?

Nope. Out with a whimper and nothing gained. (Except maybe Treacy will take confidence from what sounds a reasonable game).

Well done COv.

Bad result, but at least now we can focus solely on the league. Congratulations to Coventry, wanted it more than we did. Our starting 11 was awful, but that could be the team that lines up next year if we go down. What a thought.

Rovers should refund every one of them 917 fans. Every penny. Disgrace, it should come out of the pockets of the players who started, and Big Sam.

Bang on mate this was a game that we had very little interest in winning. Disgraceful. Decent following as well.

As said earlier I truly believe theres too many sides around us that will out fight us for survival. Lose at Hull and it is thank you and goodnight.

Finally a sensible post.

Priority is always gonna be on the league, and the cup is just an interruption in our relegation battle.

Sorry mate, you're right. We should have gone all out with our strongest 11 from a depleted squad. Sod the league.

You might be right, when losing becomes a habit it is difficult to shake. Confidence is everything. To believe that we will put this down to smart tactics and that it will all change for Saturday is delusional.

We all know Sam would treat the cup differently if we were in mid table and there was clear gap between us and the relegation spots. At least we can now fully concentrate on the league.

Spot on there RVR.

If anyone is on medication for depression or has suicidal tendencies, I suggest you switch off your PC and go to bed because it won't be pretty. Best to let them get it off their chests and out of their system so we can all build up to the Hull game together. Should be safe by Friday. Like it or not, that has more bearing on our immediate future than tonight.

Totaly agree

This will be a league game agaisnt them next year.

The squad is just not good enough.

outplayed again

I suppose the cup games is the only way sam can test the squad at his disposal - and as you say the squad is not good enough. We all hate to admit it, but has to consider next season. Does he think the team he put out tonight is good enough for the premiership or championship and the answer is no. So if he has to have a clear out for next season so be it.

The league though is more important this season. Rovers will beat hull the weekend - just hope stoke lose.

If this defeat means we beat Hull on Sunday then I'm happy. To be honest I'm upset, but not as much as I was last season when we lost 4-1.

The league is our priority, if we had won we would've had a fixture pile up and that is not ideal in a relegation scrap.

Hull is a massive game and I really hope the lads give a top performance. We know they can, it's over to you now...

I know most people are unhappy with today, but you can't blame Sam for fielding a weaker team, if one of our players got injured then it would have been a massive blow.

Plus side is that we now have 10 out of the 11 members of the squad with 8 days rest under their belts. Hopefully, this will pay off.

What an absolute ******* disgrace.

If we get relegated that might be our last realistic shot ever at winning the FA Cup.

The players that were on display all have plenty of Premiership experience and should have been able to do better than that, but the manager once again showed his sheer contempt for the competition by making eleven changes.

Going down and reaching a semi final/final beats the hell out of going down and getting knocked out of the Cup by Coventry in my book.

Not happy at all.
