unluckymorton Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 So one incentive for Sam to finish higher, means that he should have a bit more money to spend the following season. In theory anyway. That's exactly what we are playing for next season. The higher we finish, the more spends we have. I'll be happy with mid table and a half decent cup run. 6 points against the scum down the road would be nice too.

Clitherover Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Saw on a Lancashire Telegraph billboard that we are to hold talks with Pedersen regarding a contract extension. Can't ellaborate on this unfortunately as I didn't buy the paper.
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 You really do need to start purchasing the paper ben! It makes sense to at least add an extra year or two, just for our own security.

Haha, i never have cash on me at the time, i'll make sure i do in the future. Remember reading something earlier in the year about him not wanting to sign an extension, so like you say it is probably a good move.
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Thats rubbish - he told sky about a month ago that he wanted to sort out his future and that he was very happy here 4 years on. Just hope we give him a new deal, which is maybe more performance related, and not a big pay rise!
roversmum Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Wasn't he offered a contract extension around November time but didn't want to consider it at the time allegedly as he wasn't happy with the manager?
Clitherover Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Wasn't he offered a contract extension around November time but didn't want to consider it at the time allegedly as he wasn't happy with the manager? That was likely the story i read, didn't realize that it was anything related to the manager but it makes more sense.
joey_big_nose Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Yeah MGP got peed off because Treacy was starting in front of him. And Ince didn't convince him as a manager. Shows he has a brain I suppose..! We need him to sign on irrespective of whether we sign a left winger. He is our only decent left sided player, weather back up or not. He is also an ideal Allardyce type of wide man. Next season under Sam I expect him to come in with around 5-10 goals.

unluckymorton Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 i hope he does, but i certainly wouldn't expect it 3 would be a good improvement Like I said way back in this thread, add a few goals to his performance this season and he'll have had a good one.
gumboots Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Like I said way back in this thread, add a few goals to his performance this season and he'll have had a good one. Well teamtalk reckons we are looking to get his contract sorted soon.
unluckymorton Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Well teamtalk reckons we are looking to get his contract sorted soon. A performance related contract with a view to improve the deal at the end of next season if deserved. I don't think we can afford to lose players of MGP's ability.
blue phil Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 You all make it sound like he's done something to earn his salary these past few seasons !! Treacy managed push him out of the team for a while ...........that says it all about "comfort zone" Pedersen

You did well not to buy it (LT) Ben, trust me, a lot of crap in about Burnley a definite miss for anyone preaching from the Blackburn bible.
cn174 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Just scored a nice goal for Norway vs Scotland. Pity he can't do that more for Rovers!
super_arran Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 he's playing really well for Norway atm. bbc 2...get it on
Hasta Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Just scored a nice goal for Norway vs Scotland. Pity he can't do that more for Rovers! It's a pity Premier League defences can't leave him that much space and time unmarked in the box. Took it well though.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Nice finish for MGP. Hopefully getting a goal so early in the season will help his confidence when playing for us.
dazmaz Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Just scored a nice goal for Norway vs Scotland. Pity he can't do that more for Rovers! hes having a pretty good game, a few really good passes up front. the goal was pretty decent. seems to be playing more of a LCM role anyone notice how the commentators and lineker and co are banging on about how the shirt pull wasnt worth a 2nd yellow (resulting in the red) yet he was clearly the last defender? and banging on about how norway was never in it?? i swear these guys are so biased

CrazyIvan Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Ped is having a very good game. He's been involved all over the pitch and has had a good first half. Composed finish even though the ball bobbled on him. Hope he plays like that for Rovers on Saturday!
dazmaz Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 well 2 of 'em are scottish im sure they are paid not to be biased regardless hat trick on saturday for peds then?
Lurid Coat Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Yeah, Gamst has been good tonight. Like someone mentioned, he's playing a sort of LCM in a 4-5-1 system, alternatively on the left midfield in a 4-3-3.
