You say he isn't getting better but recently he's been better than he has in years? I hope we can keep him

Yes he has, no doubt. His free kicks and corners are mainly awful. He doesn´t have pace and everybody know his crosses. We simply need better player there. And there I mean winger because I hope we will play two strikers next season. Gamst is a hard worker and I do thank him warmly over the years. I just can´t see him playing any better or even like recent form in the future. I like our current squad and few good new face could strength us good enough to Europe. Someone must make room for incomers and Gamst is one of them. Nothing personal and I am very happy if he scores tonight.

Good old Scandanavian rivalry.

MGP leaves on free:

Saving: MGP's wage

Costs: new player wage plus transfer fee

MGP signs contract:

Saving: new player wage plus transfer fee

Costs: MGP's wage

I'm no expert but there aren't many decent premiership quality players that you can buy for less than the cost of MGP's wages.

If he leaves our transfer budget will be spent replacing him (if we are lucky).

There will be no money for anyone else. Therefore our close season aim couldn't be any higher than move "slightly" forward (assuming that we manage to find a player better than MGP for our money, which i doubt).

Hes never injured, never gets sent off, never does stupid mistakes that leads to opposition scoring.

His free kicks have improved, plenty of assists, more goals, new position and new confidence give the lad a break there is also no1 else out there available for same money hull want 7-8m+ for hunt....

In my opinion he is one of the first on the team sheet with recent form...

I hope he scores the winner against burnley (AGAIN) and maybe you will give this lad credit he deserves :)

Pedersen hit a purple patch a few weeks ago, where he scored a few goals and generally looked half decent. However, I don't see this as a sustained improvement. People think that he is playing well and we should sign him up. In all honesty, he's still average at best, he just looks better because for so long he was truly awful. So even though he was playing 'better', you can only compare it to how he was playing before. He still does sweet FA for us.

When we signed Pedersen, was he a proven Premiership player? We didn't exactly break the bank for him, either. As a club, we should be looking at signing another promising young player to succeed him, instead of throwing £40k a week wages at players who have seen better days.

Pedersen was our top assister last season. He is currently our top assister this season. This is in a team which has for the last 12 months at least, been awful at taking our chances when they have arrived. He's also scored more goals than any of our other midfielders if you take out Dunn, and is also very solid as far as the defensive side of his game goes, and could also cost an absolute bomb to replace properly which lets be honest, needs invbesting in other areas.

If I took the corners I'd be 'top assister.'

Like most statistically based arguments, your's is very weak.

I prefer the arguments based on what people see with their eyes. I see a very average player, who should not be earning what he is.

fair enough, if we're going on what we see every week.

What I see is a good, if not top drawer premierleague player, who invariably creates chances in one way or another every single game. Unfortunately, he also has a tendency to misplace easy passes, have the occaisional shocking cross and frustrate supporters with what seems to be a lack of focus or urgency at times.

If we had the money of a Spurs or a Villa then maybe I'd look at things differently, but we don't, so I don't think there's much sense in looking to replace our most productive midfielder when other areas of the team are screaming out for investment.

I agree we should try and keep him, but only for about half of what he is reportedly earning now.

If not, let him go.

He was poor today, really poor.

What was up with that free kick him, Diouf and Dunn (i think) spent about a minute talking about, before MGP just smashes it low into the wall?

Pedersen urged to sign

We have been trying to thrash out a deal for over a year now and yet he won't sign, i think its time we just get rid imo. He clearly isn't committed to the cause.

Don't listen to 'em, Peds. You don't need our money and there's plenty of great opportunities on the continent!
