Jesus wept, let it not be true.

He's been de-frauding Rovers for 3 years now with his gutless displays, to give him another 3 years is insane.

Don't you know Bryan giving him a 3 year deal according to some is good because we can sell him for something in the future? Problem is these same people fail to realise that no club has shown a solid interest in MGP for several years and for good reason.

Exactly, nobody wants him on a free transfer, why would anyone pay good money for him in a few years, when he'll be older?

Big mistake by Sam. He looked decent for a few games when he was moved central, but that was it, just a few games. If he deserves a new contract then so does Maceo Rigters!

Hi Folks, Just heard off a friend that Morten is ready to commit to a new 3 year contract and all will be made official in the next week or so. I dont know how reliable his contact is or if he is in the know etc but most things he told me in the past been spot on :)

Also a friend works in ticket office and Dindane was at Ewood on tuesday of last week I think it was?? Why do players go Ewood I thought theyd always go Brockhall?

Cheers anyway..

More valuable money p****d up the wall, I guess Sam will be happy he can continue to employ the "long throw" tactic.

I really hope your friend is wrong.

Watching Sky News last Friday it definitely said that he had signed a new 3 year deal but lack of any response on here would suggest that they made it up or I heard it wrong? Did anyone else hear the report or am I going senile??

Possible you misheard, it was about then that they announced he has been offered an improved contract (why I have no idea) and that his future should be decided in the next week or so.

If it's that hard to believe please refer to West Ham United buying Benni McCarthy ;)

He is available now for nothing, and has generated no interest form any league of note.

If he signs a new contract with us, how much interest do you thnk he will generate then?

I would say zero, just my personall opinion.

If not one decent team from a decent league has tried to sign him on a free why on earth do you think they will suddenly whack in a bid for him if he is under contract?

1. Seria A?

2. Reid has got interest from West Brom after being on loan. Whose to say in a year Ped's doesnt go on loan somewhere and impresses?

3. Why does it have to be a decent team from a decent league? If Bury came in for him in a few years we'd still get more money then than we would now.

1. Seria A? - Which team Milan? nope Palermo I believe, obviuosly that is a very attractive proposition because he has signed a pre contract agreement with them....

2. Reid has got interest from West Brom after being on loan. Whose to say in a year Ped's doesnt go on loan somewhere and impresses? - So what you are saying is sign him on again, on increased wages and loan him out, what? We loaned Reid out to relieve his wage, or part of them, of the wage bill. He is out of contract in the summer we wont make a penny of West Brom.

3. Why does it have to be a decent team from a decent league? If Bury came in for him in a few years we'd still get more then than we would now. - Again, sign him on give him more money and ,in your scenario, sell him to Bury for £500k(example fee). Considering he picks up atleast that amount of money for half a season now. So we pay him about a million pounds a year, maybe more I dont know, but get to sell him in two season's time for a nominal fee. Makes a lot of sense, not!

We are losing money on him hand over fist, by getting rid now we would be able to offer that money to someone who may put in moe than 2 half arsed tackles every game. There is no "make money on him" he costs us a significant amount of money per season. The only saving grace you could possibly mention is that by keeping him and not having to replace him we would not need to shell out on a transfer fee now to replace him.

Only a significant return to form will generate any real return, and I do not believe that is likely to happen.

Maybe I'll be proved wrong.

If you desperatly want him to stay fair enough, but dont try and paint a picture that we can make money on him, because we most likely wont.

Come to your senses, Mr. Allardyce. We can't tolerate his limp-wristed displays any longer. You seriously think we can't improve on his powderpuff free-kicks and his harmless long-throws? The fact you keep Keith Andrews in the first-team is proof enough you're not the omniscient being some would have you down for. How about we ditch Pedersen and his fraudulent wages and develop young Judge or Doran? Or a Bosman signing? Or another star plucked from obscurity? The possibilities are there. Please don't take the lazy option.

Well, all I can say is that I hope your mate's got it wrong.

Well, All I can say is that I hope your mate got it right.

(This type of reply is typical of much of what is being posted currently. If we all simply contradicted each other based on ardently held beliefs what type of forum would we end up with. However at times I am sorely tempted)

Soooooooooooooo happy if he signs a new deal

I assume you're joking .... but if you're not. Think about it - he's currently playing for a new contract, either at Rovers or elsewhere. Now if that was you or I, we'd be putting 100% in every game, chasing lost causes, throwing ourselves in to tackles, and generally trying to look at least as committed if not doubly so as anyone else in blue 'n' white.

Instead, he's been mincing around, barely breaking sweat, jumping out of tackles, avoiding headers and basically looking like he'd no more rather be playing for us then in Sainsbury's doing his weekly shop.

Is that a man we want fighting for Rovers? Not a f**king chance - especially not for £30k a week. We'd be far, far better keeping hold of Steven Reid.

If he REALLY wanted to stay, he would have signed on the dotted line a long time ago.

I had a feeling he wanted to stay in England but by delaying the contract talks and signing, he's possibly waiting for an English club to be able to sign him on a pre-contract. I'm not sure when they're officially allowed to do so but I know it's a different date to foreign teams.

I agree with you Mark. He isnt a very skilled player, but he scores some beatiues now and then. IF he had some passion, commitment and effort and ran his socks off I would be happy to ignore all his other flaws!

As it is now he is going around whimping out of tackles and taking horrible free-kicks and corners.

Thanks for that and tactfully put! As for Pedersen himself I am pleased he is signing on as he fits the Allardyce model perfectly as his set pieces are quite formidable. His throwins are a threat as are his corners. He needs to rediscover his technique from his freekicks. If he does he has a powerful armoury to affect the course of a game.

On the contrary, he's a very skilled player. He's just a tart. One with no pace.

almost every match i critisise Morten but for some reason i hope he stays, maybe he's not the most skilful or fast or even commited but there are some things that he provides that i think we would miss... and anyway he deserves legend status in my eyes for some of the things he's done in the past: He's scored some cracking goals, assisted some cracking goals but mainly he scored 2 agaisnt United at United to help us do the double over them and he scored the winner agaisnt our mates from the DingleDome.... soo please sign on the dotted line Morten
