MarkBRFC71 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 The deal has been on the table all season - no new deal signed = no desire to play for us (and assessing to see if there is a bigger pay day in the pipeline) = let him go!! Spot on. By delaying this long, and by the majority of his performances this season he's shown no desire to be a Rovers player. On the face of it, I think he's waiting to see if a better option comes along and using us as a 'fall-back'. There's no room for players with that attitude at Rovers, particularly when we do not have the money to waste £30k a week.

gumboots Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Realistically we cant.....but like others say - you have to start to question his motives after all this time I want him to stay - but now he's starting to take the biscuit abit!! Unless the club know more than we do and it really is just about putting pen to paper, everything else having been done, then I would imagine they are starting to feel that way too.
Iceman Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 perhaps he will sign after the final game of the season? He has the right to weigh up his options, and again if you were offered another job with more money, would you take it or stay?
Hughesy Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 He has the right to weigh up his options, and again if you were offered another job with more money, would you take it or stay? Depends on what your looking for. The last job I was offered I turned down, even though it was on more money.
Majiball Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Money is not the be all and end all, especially when you are already a millionaire. I am beginning to wonder if pedersen is happy here at Rovers? The fans get on his back at times, perhaps his form is down to that, its been a very up and down few years at rovers. Also its not unfathomable to think that not all of our players will be happy at the way we play sometimes. Now I'm not having a dig at Sam with that but just as some of our fans don't like it, its not inconceivable to think some of the players wouldn't either. With a pay rise on the table and 3 years, you have to think that money really isn't the issue. I just want the saga settled so that we can sort out our transfers before the season starts.
The Rover of Finland Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 He isn´t a good winger, he hasn´t done too well playing second striker. He did play well there at first but just for few games. His free kicks and corners are awful. Maybe Sam wants to give him one more chance and sell after that. Now he would leave us for free. What ever happends let´s hope it happends soon.
Majiball Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Would anyone on here say David Beckham is a winger?
Pedderz0912 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Latest on Morten - According to our official site - Nothing has been decided yet and were looking at early next week before rovers receive his decision??
Gav Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I for one am getting sick and tired of this delay, can’t plan for the future until he decides, he's hardly set the footballing world on fire throughout his career so holding the club to ransom, if he is doing that, is pathetic. WHO THE HELL DOES HE THINK HE IS – PELE? Either sign are sod off Pedersen
Amo Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 "There aren't many footballers around who can play in the Premier League, so when you've already got one here you do your very best to keep him and we've tried to do that." Okay, Sam... but what's this got to do with Pedersen?
Pedderz0912 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Gav - U get up on wrong side of bed this morning ;-) I can't see money being the issue here - he has been offered a payrise - maybe sick of getting stick of us fans which in most cases has been very harsh - thats what he may be thinkin about not just the money and holding us to ranson - maybe his form has been down to us a little bit and he is a confidence player....

The decision should be easy then, why stall?
DanLad Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I think he's clearly on his way. If he were going to stay he would have signed his new contract by now.
92er Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Allardyce has just been on Radio Lancs. He wants Pedersen to stay and hopes his having been a successful player here, his being rated by the other players and the coaching/mgt staff will count for a lot. Allardyce is sure that Padersen could earn more money elsewhere, but he hopes the former considerations will sway him. The decision will be made next week.
Blue blood Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I think he's clearly on his way. If he were going to stay he would have signed his new contract by now. I agree. He'd have got it all sorted now so can plan his hols etc. in peace if he was staying. It's a shame really as I think he is a. a decent player b. has been and therefore could be again an excellent player c. too good for us to loose on a free transfer d. another gap for sam to fill and spend resources on in the summer. He should at least do us the decency of telling the club who have done so much for him, where they stand.
Jason Rover Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 id love morten to stay hes a good solid performer and on his day a gr8 player...however i feel his time has come at rovers and he needs to move for his own career and not risk going stale as a player as hes seemed somewhat lately. i think he needs a new challenge and ill be sorry to see him go but facts are facts
Inta Beaver Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 If he left who would take the throw ins? Hopefully nobody will be able to throw it more than 10yrds.
Montfort Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 The Daily Telegraph today think that Pederson is so good that not only will he play left of centre, he will also play strike forward with Dunn ( sports section team sheets page S8)
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 It’s clear that Sam wants to do business early by agreeing deals for players before or shortly after the season ends. Waiting on Pedersen to decide his future is taking much needed time for Sam to decide what areas we need to strengthen or not. I don't want to sign Pedersen I’ve made that perfectly clear, but if Sam wants to make the mistake of giving him a new deal he needs to get it sorted out soon. If Pedersen doesn't agree by midweek next week then Sam should take the offer off the table.
Amo Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 It would be incredibly naive if Sam hasn't put any feelers out towards replacing Pedersen. His future's been up in the air for some time now.
RibbleValleyRover Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 It would be incredibly naive if Sam hasn't put any feelers out towards replacing Pedersen. His future's been up in the air for some time now. Maybe he has Topman. However if you read some of his comments in the press its like Sam is begging him to stay, the sort of thing that's surprising considering he's nowhere near our best player or our most vital.
Amo Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 The best thing to come out of Pedersen leaving is that Sam will be forced to readdress the midfield. Right now, he's talking as if our only problem is up front.

Right now, he's talking as if our only problem is up front. Yeah and with our massive transfer budget, I bet Sam is particularly excited about trying to sign new players who can improve the team. Perdersen has been poor recently but also played decent for parts of the season. Replacing him won't be that easy.
