Yeah and with our massive transfer budget, I bet Sam is particularly excited about trying to sign new players who can improve the team.

We've got a good record signing bargain buys.

Oh, replacing him will be easy.

As Sparky said, we can't keep pulling rabbits out of hats.

We've come this far, why not? It's like most of our bargains have been world-beaters. A lot of them have been solid players who have been overlooked and we've given them a chance to prove themselves. Are you forgetting loan signings, too? That's always an option.

I can only imagine Sam wants to keep Pedersen because of that powerhouse throw of his...

Well on today's performance he'll have to sign for us, as no one else would have him on today's showing. I know our midfield chops and changes very frequently but does Sam see Peds as the answer to our cm problems. Think he may well do better there with Olsson at left mid but a cm pairing of Peds and N'Zonzi, especially if Dunn is the third, is horribly static and slow. In fact it'd be the slowest one i can think of.

Crap corner for the goal as well eh?

Parts of the season = about 3 games. Nowhere near enough to justify £30k a week.

The Daily Telegraph made Pederson man of the match with "an assist for the Blackburn goal and four shots on target"

What do they know about football. They obviously haven't read this thread. We should have no trouble picking up a replacement to do that for us.

The MOTD media have a very blinkered view of players like Pedersen.

It’s clear that Sam wants to do business early by agreeing deals for players before or shortly after the season ends. Waiting on Pedersen to decide his future is taking much needed time for Sam to decide what areas we need to strengthen or not.

I don't want to sign Pedersen I’ve made that perfectly clear, but if Sam wants to make the mistake of giving him a new deal he needs to get it sorted out soon.

If Pedersen doesn't agree by midweek next week then Sam should take the offer off the table.

Correct RVR.

Wise move by Allardyce. He will have his targets and if Ped is not going to sign then we need to be knowing asap. The longer MGP plays us along the more options we will miss out on.

His all four shots were scoring chanches. Including a very good free kick chance. Scoring wasn´t even close.

We can't go on wasting free-kicks, corners and throw - ins and that's all he does so time for someone else.

he set up our goal on Saturday with a corner

I like MGP, but this guy is messing us around now. What is he waiting for? Better days? Its time Sam takes a stance, and demand an answer. If MGP wanted to stay, then he would have had no hesitation in signing. I've backed him up, because I thought he would have made up his mind by now. Let him go, and bring in either Ledley or Ibricic.

He set pieces are over-rated. Think how many he takes in a season. We've not scored a league goal direct from a free kick yet all season. I know statistically he has a good assist record but if any other decent player took every set piece they'd end up with that record too. He seems chronically slower than he was 3 years ago and offers little in open play.

Sorry Morten. Thanks for the screamer that went through The Beast a few years ago but in my opinion it is time for you to move on.

MOTD has a blinkered view of Rovers anyway - they don't like us. strangely it is only since Shearer joined the show. Hardly a mention with regards to Nzonzes goal v everton.

We havent done anything to justify praise, Nzonzi's goal apart. They did have good words to say about our draws with Man Utd/Chelsea but can you see a reason for why they'd spend time giving us attention? Dont like us? I bet every football fan in the league says that about the media, its boring to hear it.

I don't think it's just a Rovers deal, but their analysis is poorly balanced. The Everton game for example, they mentioned trivia about Tim Cahill and moved on. No mention of the goals, performances, possible sending-off. Nadda.

I've been umming and ahhing over this one for a while - as I've not seen him play live for a while I think I'm still influenced by that day at OT and the dingle beater in the cup. If we could have him back then I hope he signs - as is I'm resigned to losing him. Sam's right to say we need an answer though - as we've been good enough to line his pockets for scant reward over the last few tears the least he could do is be honest with us and either sign or say he's off...

Yep, fact of the matter is that we aren't involved in the excitement at either end of the table and that most of our games are relatively dull and we have a pretty small fan base. Why would they spend a lot of time talking about us?

I don't think anyone really expects a lot of time but there is a balance to be found and when we have a good game or one of our players does do something noteworthy, we'd just like the recognition, that's all.

Let's hope that will convince some other team to take him off our hands

I can't understand the logic some here used to justify keeping him. Granted, we might not be able get anyone good with our budget constraints but on current form, virtually ANYONE is better than pedersen. I would rather take a chance on one of the youngsters than to pay him 30k a week for doing almost nothing every week.

We usually get it, example being the draws against United and Chelsea, or even some of our better performances over the past couple of months (such as against Spurs and Liverpool). Good goals are scored every week in the premier league, unless they are amazing they shouldn't do anything more than just show them really.
