broadsword Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Who cares whether people are personal or not? It's really neither here nor there. He's been in a comfort zone for the last 3 years and has let his contract run down. He's a physical coward, a work-shirker and the attributes he had in his game no longer show through. Why the heck are we fighting to keep him? We should be booting the pansy out of the frigging window.

ewoodpo Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Get rid and send him on his bike another one season wonder who has done sod all this season . Clubs are chasing him but not the clubs that he wants to go to. All he is doing is waiting until his agent can sort something out at the club that he wants to move to. He has had an offer from Greece but he doesn't want to move there. He will only sign a new contract with us as a last resort hence the delaying tactics on his part. That agent of his as we all know has a bit of a reputation to say the least.
alexanders Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 His agent Rune Hauge has been in the norwegian papers today saying the contract negotiations are positive, but they are having problems agreeing about a couple of important details in the contract. He is also saying that Gamst is enjoying Blackburn Rovers and his new position in midfield.
den Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 The guy needs to give the club an answer, and the club should demand an answer if non is forth coming. The club could sort it out immediately if they wanted to Iceman. No-one needs to demand anything.
rovers_rob Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 If he doesn't sign by the weekend I wouldn't play him. Sam might as well give Linganzi a chance in midfield to see what he can do.
Steve Moss Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Pedersen allegedly staying. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Morten-Gamst-Pedersen-looks-set-to-extend-his-six-year-stay-at-Blackburn-article407403.html I weep.

Nothing new. Just taken from the article in the norwegian paper which I was referring to. Nothing is sorted yet and a couple of very important details remains.
Billy Castell Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Sign him. Then sell him and bring in Ledley.
bellamy11 Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Sign him. Then sell him and bring in Ledley. Who are we selling him to who will pay us a transfer fee but can't make him a better offer than us whilst he's free?
thenodrog Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Bad move all around if he stays. Better for all if he seeks pastures new. I have no major problems with him as a player, we know what we are getting and if his renumeration is in line then it's fine by me. Unfortunately the knives are out as always and if we manage the far more pressing task to offload and replace Julie then MGP will cop it big time from the BBurn End Shell Suit Brigade and the Riverside Trilby Association.

RibbleValleyRover Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 ALLARDYCE ISSUES ULTIMATUM Asked whether he felt the Norway midfielder would be at the club next season, Allardyce sternly said: "No." Links seems to be broken but i found it on their site. I've had probs before linking articles from there. Sounds like Sam is sick and tired of his stalling, let's hope that Pedersen doesn't give an answer and Sam tells him he has no future here so we can look elsewhere.
Clitherover Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Not like Sam to spit the dummy out on the situation... Am glad he's given him an ultimatum though tbh, it was starting to get ridiculous.
broadsword Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 He was given another ultimatum last week, I think. Hopefully he won't sign and he'll go off and find another club. A result for him and for us.
John Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Think Sam is annoyed as it was suggested we might have an answer on his future around a month ago.
Backroom Tom Posted May 1, 2010 Backroom Posted May 1, 2010 Times up morten stay or go! I'd like him to stay but I'd have him in on Tuesday with his sleazy agent and say sign now or we shred the contract, one way or another it would be done at least.
RoyRover Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 For Pedersen to be holding out on a contract, when he as been a total passenger in our team for the last couple of seasons, contributing next to nothing, is a total joke. It's a miracle that he's even been offered a new contract. For him to be holding out for this long, after deadlines having been set for a decision, is awful. I was hoping that he would have let us know last week that he was moving on and going to nothing for someone else.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 The only reason I can imagine him holding off is so he can talk to other English clubs once the season has finished. I don't believe they're allowed to arrange a pre-contract until after the final games of the Premier League have taken place whereas clubs from outside of England are allowed to approach him with 6 months remaining on his contract. It's clearly obvious that he wants to stay in England but as the days go by, it's getting more and more obvious that he doesn't want to stay in England with Blackburn Rovers.
RoyRover Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 What has to be made clear to him, is that either signs it now or the offer is off the table. I don't want him here at all, but I also don't want him thinking that he can talk to other clubs and if none of them come up with what he wants, he can always fall back on our offer. I don't want him to resign, but I also don't want to be his security offer. I can't believe that he is being offered a contract at all. If any of our other players had done as little as him for the past couple of seasons, they would not be offered a new contract.

We could save a few bob on his wages here if he looks around find nothing better and then decides he'd better stay after all. Offer and acceptance and all that.
47er Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 The topic is" Morton Gamst Pedersen-------love him or hate him?". Never loved him, never thought I'd hate him-----TILL NOW. Just another mercenary.
Backroom Tom Posted May 2, 2010 Backroom Posted May 2, 2010 As opposed to all those that play for rovers purely for love?
47er Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 As opposed to all those that play for rovers purely for love? No of course not but there are examples of players conducting themselves with dignity. Samba, Nelsen, Dunn, Emerton have all signed successive contracts without stringing it out like this. Pedersen is taking the **** even though, imo, he has less to offer.
