Amo Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 It was obvious when no other PL club would touch him, and his only offers came from Greece & Scotland, that Pedersen's stock had plummeted. He's nothing like the player he used to be, who had a sweet left foot and could make late runs into the box. He's just so....average now! To give him a bumper deal was madness when the team looks no better for having him.

Backroom Tom Posted October 30, 2010 Backroom Posted October 30, 2010 As a frequent Pedersen defender I must say today was kind of unforgiveable. He was ok in open play but there is no excuse for any professional footballer to be so poor taking a corner. I wish he'd go back to shooting on corners even that is better than floating it to the front mans knee.
Amo Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Dreadful game. Our decision to reward him with a four-year deal is looking more absurd by the week.

Given his recent performances though he'd be homeless in a month Dire.
Hughesy Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Sh!te today...with a potential takeover almost complete & Charlie Adam considering walking out on his contract (+ others that become available if we get cash) - he really needs to watch his back.

If we DID replace him, he'd be earning £40-50k a week on the bench, because there's no way we could sell him - unless we pay him off.
Cheeky Sidders Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I have defended MGP from the relentless criticisms of friends and particularly my brother as I feel that on his day he can still provide that spark to turn a game... but my patience has been sorely tested of late. Love him or loathe him we're stuck with him for the foreseeable but what I will say is we can't allow him to continue taking the majority of freekicks and corners as 91 out of 20 of them are pitiful. His throws occasionally find their way through but he needs to be encouraged to run with the ball as he used to do and may, just maybe, we might see a glimpse of what we have all cheered on before. With better delivery into the box today and other recent games we might have accrued more than 9 points from 10 games.

Cheeky Sidders Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Now that's a crap ratio Indeed. It should of course have been 19 out of 20. Curse this tasty beer!
bluebruce Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 What awful, awful delivery from Pedersen today (yesterday now). Shocking.

We could let him go on a free if needed im sure. Although id like to see Keith, Grella & Roberts all leave 1st.
Amo Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 We could let him go on a free if needed im sure. How? There's a reason he chose to stay here, you know.
Bobby G Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Leave him on a free and pay him off about 3-4 million pounds possibly?
thenodrog Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Pederson had a poor game. It happens to every player sometime or other. Cut the Halloween witchhunt and get over it.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Pederson had a poor game. It happens to every player sometime or other. Cut the Halloween witchhunt and get over it. I don't agree, he's been poor for as long as I can remember. When was his last good game ? The guy's a lightweight, always has been , always will be. It's time the penny dropped at Ewood.
bluebruce Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Pederson had a poor game. It happens to every player sometime or other. Cut the Halloween witchhunt and get over it. Wow. Just wow. You seriously think people are criticising him because he has had just one bad game lately?
John Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I think part of the problem, and it does not just apply to MGP, is that he can have a poor game and know he will start the next one. Competition for places usually spurs players on however we don't have that in a number of positions. Plus with our emphasis on set pieces, and his apparent excellence at them, it makes it all the more likely he will play most games this season.
MarkBRFC71 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Plus with our emphasis on set pieces, and his apparent excellence at them, it makes it all the more likely he will play most games this season. It wasn't very apparent yesterday - absolutely dreadful delivery almost without exception.
John Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 It wasn't very apparent yesterday - absolutely dreadful delivery almost without exception. That's why I said apparent, very frustrating. Diouf occasionally can deliver a good ball, would like to see them share it around more especially when MGP is having a mare.
frosty Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Pedersen needs to start whipping his corners in instead of just chipping it in. When they are whipped in with pace like he used to do them, they are much more threatening and only need a touch.

It's all about percentages. Of course the fact that it's incredibly hard to score from lofted in balls doesn't seem to register with t'Expert.

You need to improve the content of your posts if you want people to take you seriously.
Exiled_Rover Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Which part isn't accurate? Pedersen has only started chipping in his set pieces since Allardyce has been here. He used to whip them in or, shock horror, go for goal. They were far more dangerous. Clearly Allardyce thinks that lofting them in keeps the ball in the box for longer, increasing the chances of a loose ball falling to one of our players. It's crap football, but hey that's the style he wants us to play.

Perhaps also he isn't all that bothered if he is picked for the following games as he still gets a fortune for not playing.
