Tyrone Shoelaces Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 If only Pedersen was as good on the pitch as his rhetoric Yeh, he needs to be telling himself that sort of motivational stuff before he goes onto the pitch.

blue_and_white Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 That won't happen, he's obviously making all this stuff up. He deliberately created that website and posts on it almost every day so he can taunt the fans with his lies. Yeah he didn't need to do a post about his love and passion for the club but thats not fooling me and hopefully his critics on here won't change their opinion one jot. You guys and your cynical victimising of certain players you decided long ago you're not gonna like is important and valuable to Rovers. It makes them play better/makes the manager get rid of them, I mean who would criticise them constantly if you didn't? The opposition fans? They don't have the dedication and venom, they can't be relied on. Plus its better for him to hear it from his own fans, has more of a harmful effect. Keep up the good work and balls to inspirational posts on his website.

my_name_is_Earl Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I think Pedersen's been a bit unlucky this season. He's not had a run in the team of late so it's difficult to really assess anyone's contribution with the few minute's he's had. Unfortunately for Pedersen, in general, he does tend to go missing away from home. It's almost as though he's been so well drilled that he's not been playing with his natural flair. If Pedersen played in Hoillet's role, once he had come back to form, I think he'd really begin to express himself and we'd see his natural ability. I think Sam was the worst thing that could have happened for Pedersen, granted he had gone through some patchy form before BS arrived. It was as though the focus on organisation and discipline had taken the glean off his natural game and he's struggled ever since. However, Pedersen's love for the Rovers is very warmly received and nobody can doubt his dead ball ability when he's at his best. I believe that as long as Pedersen is honest with himself in his post-season summary of himself, there is still a massive role to play for him at the club, not least due to the fact that we lack a dead ball specialist. Next year is a huge year for him, however, I remain a firm supporter of his ability when he's at the top of his game and I believe he still has a lot to offer.
jim mk2 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I know words are cheap but this was rousing from MGP Match of the season starts in a few hours, or rather, the most important game of our career starts in a few hours. I can feel it in my entire body how much this game means, and anything else than pulling this through is completely out of the question. The eleven who are so lucky that they get the honor to represent the proud blue and white shirt with the beautiful red rose will fight as if it was about life. For that is what it is all about, the life of the club in our hearts! Blackburn Rovers are not lucky because they have good players on the team, good players are lucky because they play at Blackburn Rovers. Now it's game time, COYB! Followed by What an incredible feeling! Congratulations to everybody, this was for all you fans out there and you deserve it so much! I would like to say thank you to everybody for this season, it got a bit difficult towards the end, but we pulled it through in the end, so it's all good. Now it's a well deserved holliday. And some great pics here http://gamst.co.uk/ Wonderful stuff from Morten. Loves the club, loves the fans, loyal, hard-working, not a moment's trouble on or off the pitch and the lynchpin of the team. Wish we had more like him.
Paul Mellelieu Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Wonderful stuff from Morten. Loves the club, loves the fans, loyal, hard-working, not a moment's trouble on or off the pitch and the lynchpin of the team. Wish we had more like him. Agree Jim. A nice thoughtful lad.

Loves the club, loves the fans, loyal, hard-working, not a moment's trouble on or off the pitch and the lynchpin of the team. Wish we had more like him. Especially not for the opposition The writing must be on the wall for him now with the emergence of Olsson and the likes of Rochina and Formica in the wings. Sell Sell Sell
joey_big_nose Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Wonderful stuff from Morten. Loves the club, loves the fans, loyal, hard-working, not a moment's trouble on or off the pitch and the lynchpin of the team. Wish we had more like him. I agree that it's great stuff from him, but I would imagine he will be sitting down with his agent in the coming weeks. The future looks bleak for Ped with the emergence of Olsson, Hoilett and with Rochina and Formica waiting for their chance. We have Emerton, Dunn and MGP all fighting for at best one spot, and Emerton's response to the challenge has been outstanding. Pedersen and Dunn have struggled to assert themselves and you have to think at least one of those two will go.
neekoy Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Especially not for the opposition I wouldn't sell unless we have a real improvement to replace him with, he is solid enough, I would have thought moving more centrally would have provided a better return on goals but overall he is still the player he was when he joined in 2004, no improvement and no worse. He is our Jesper Grønkjær. Now if we can just find a Gravesen, Tofting, Sand, Helveg and Tomasson I will be happy.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Especially not for the opposition The writing must be on the wall for him now with the emergence of Olsson and the likes of Rochina and Formica in the wings. Sell Sell Sell I agree, we need to move him on if at all possible. He's not done badly financially out of Rovers whilst he's been here. He could call it a day tomorrow and never have to lift a finger again. Very lucky boy.
cruz Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 But....but....but .....,as was said last summer, if we don't keep him it will cost us squillions and squillions and squillions of pounds to replace him

Sadly there is only so far attitude can get you eventally lack of talent costs.

cruz Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 You're telling me Roversmum. I once had the displeasure to meet Andy Cole
Gav Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Sell Sell Sell If we have any sort of transfer budget I agree fully with Rev. We cannot afford to carry players on 40/50k a week. He may well be a nice chap, but that's not enough, get rid.
Backroom Tom Posted May 24, 2011 Backroom Posted May 24, 2011 But....but....but .....,as was said last summer, if we don't keep him it will cost us squillions and squillions and squillions of pounds to replace him I still think he has been very valuable to us this season, some vital assists and goals. Certainly don't think we would have got better in on a free. All in all good business signing him up again IMO.
Exiled in Toronto Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I'm not a fan but I think he needs to be given time to respond to the very clear message that his free kicks and throw ins alone are no longer enough for a starting place. We persevered with Emerton all season and he came good in the crunch. Shape up Morten and win your place as a footballer, not a specialty team member.
blue_and_white Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Have you met Morten? He's a genuinely nice guy, sadly I can't say the same about everyone. Was being sarcastic Roversmum. Sad indictment on the treatment of Pedersen by some of our so-called fans that it didn't sound massively different to when some people are being serious.
cruz Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 We have plenty of managers at work like Pedersen. They talk the talk but can't walk the walk

I don't like any of our players being treated in that way - obviously there are times when a player is frustrating when you know he can do better (Brett has been a case in point over the years) but they are still Rovers nonetheless and strangely enough, - and I've met most of them - they seem to actually LIKE Rovers and enjoy playing for the club.
Amo Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Gradually been eased out of the side as we move away from the percentage football era. Can't see anyone bothering to buy him and stump up the wages we're paying.

It's because, despite the changes at the club, it apparently is still very much a family club, in that the staff from tealady upwards (or downwards because I think the tealady is a vital part of any setup)actually care about the club. They are not there just because it's a job for them - it matters more - and that creates an atmosphere that players like working in. Had that from a current player. Look at the number of players who leave us but have still said it's been the place where they have felt most at home. Most retain an affection for us.
alexanders Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Great bloke and its easy to see that he has fallen in love with our club. Norwegian Media are full of "Gamst sitting down with manager" talk. Its down to him sitting on the bench and wanting to know Keans plans about him in the future. He also says that he would've liked to play in the relegation battle, but the most important thing was the team winning and staying in the premiership.
tonyoz Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 MGP is a great bloke but that's not enough sadly. I don't think it's a coincidence that we played a more effective style when he was dropped from the last few games. He doesn't score many goals and he is near the bottom of the % successful passes table almost every game (usually 50 odd %.) We have better options now and I don't see him as a regular again even if he stays.

Even though he was a great player for us under Mark Hughes and I think that Sam Allardyce style didnt do him any favours other than him beeing the deadball specialist. I've seen a lot of him on the national team and his strengths is coming up with the odd goal and deliver some great passes behind the oppositions back four ie his pass to Kalinic against WBA.
