Rovermatt Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I wish i had stayed up and watched the Eagles-Giants game, by the looks of it I did. What a waste of time.

modes98 Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I'm not sure how we managed to throw that game away so many times. We would get ourselves right back into it only to fumble or leave a WR totally free for a 60 yard pass. The main plus was the O-Line, they turned up in force and played a brilliant game. Nicks is coming through strong, him and Smith are a brilliant pair. The main negative is the secondary, there isn't one.
Rovermatt Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 The worst part was when the Eagles needed another score to make it safe, so they simply marched up the field all the way from their own 9 yard line, totally unhindered. Big changes are needed.
Rovermatt Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Chris Henry dies. Bloody hell. The NFL seems to have a couple of tragedies a season.
T4E Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Almost as bad as wrestling. Infact arguably worse, as these all tend to be genuine accidents.
sleepyjack Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Two weeks to go in the regular season. It's a nightmare trying to predict playoff positions, given the different tiebreakers involved - in the AFC it might go down to "strength of victory", ie the combined W-L record of teams beaten. I considered trying to explain all the different teams and their chances of making the playoffs, but a. I'm not smart enough, and b. it'll be meaningless come 11pm tonight. However I really like this playoff scenario generator. In other NFL news, it was nice to see the Eagles enhance their reputation as a disgusting bunch by handing out their Ed Block Courage Award to Michael Vick. The Ravens gave the award to Dawan Landry for showing courage in the face of near-paralysis last season, but the Eagles gave theirs to Vick, because I'm sure it takes courage to go straight from prison for murdering helpless animals to a millionaire's salary for sitting on the bench every week.

Yeah, yeah go hating on the Eagles. So you don´t think it takes courage to stand up for what you did and try to turn your life around? The award is voted for by the players of each team. His teammates are clearly seeing something that the rest of the world is not.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 As it stands the Packers will have a place in the play-offs, currently 21-3 up against the Seahawks and the Panthers are beating the Giants.
sleepyjack Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I don't think it matters. My team gave their Ed Block award to a player who has come back from drug abuse, arrest and a season-long ban. He's playing well, keeping his head down and redeeming himself. Contrast that with Vick, whose speech for the Humane Society was recorded for his 60 Minutes special and his BET reality show. And what was his humble response to the award? "Take a look at what I've been through ... I've had to overcome a lot, more than probably one single individual can bear." What's he had to overcome? Not being able to kill any dogs? I'm all for second chances and I don't have a problem with Vick being in the NFL, but it's ridiculously premature to celebrate his character at this point.
Rovermatt Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Disgusting performance by the Giants. Season over. There's only so much scowling, shouting and head-shaking that Coughlin can do before the responsibility for the disastrous season lands at his feet.
Eddie Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Almost as disgusting as the Colts throwing away their short at immortality. People can spout the nonsense about how they will reap the rewards of the rest come play-off time, but chances like this don't come around all that often. Comfortable at half-time they could have at least seen it through for another quarter. Another score and that game was over. Bet on that team not to make the superbowl now.
ABBEY Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 6 AND O TO PLAY OFF NO....MC D ITS TIME TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eddie Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 He's made some mistakes recently, but can you honestly say that you're a playoff quality team?
ABBEY Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 He's made some mistakes recently, but can you honestly say that you're a playoff quality team? mistakes? from 6-0? losing to raiders and chefs? cowher or mcd? hes the ince of the nfl.... or the stella tonight sats so
American Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 mistakes? from 6-0? losing to raiders and chefs? cowher or mcd? hes the ince of the nfl.... or the stella tonight sats so And what was our record last season? Not bad to improve after re-vamping the team to be more his players, and losing half of our receivers at the end of the season. Overall we were an 8-8 team, the 6-0 start was a mirage and overall the team showed improvement. How did Cutler work out for Chicago?
Eddie Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I think Cutler will work out next season. Hopefully if we can bring in a decent wide reciever through free agency or from the draft he'll find things a bit easier. Started to get his stuff together as the pressure dropped towards the end of the season.

Hopefully if we can bring in a decent wide reciever through free agency or from the draft he'll find things a bit easier. Started to get his stuff together as the pressure dropped towards the end of the season. He's always been great when there is no pressure on him. Never will be a Super Bowl QB like Grossman was - it's a shame as he has 100x more talent, but just doesn't have what it takes to be a winner.

How did Cutler work out for Chicago? god bless drunken posts lol......but if we cant beat the fade or the cheifs and finish 2-8 then there must be consequences. according to the boards i go on he has totally lost the dressing room .
Eddie Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Clearly things went wrong towards the end there, but to an extent he's a victim of his early season success. No one expected you to make the playoffs and the 6-0 start was totally out of the blue. From that position you would expect a side to make the playoffs, but if you had told me preseason that you'd go 2-8 in your last 10 games I wouldn't have thought that was an odd prediction. You should give him a second year and let him make his team. There were quite a few positives, especially with your defense early on.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Packers beat the Cards 33-7 last night, will be a much tougher prospect when we face them again next week though with Warner fully fit and some others back. Been impressed with the pack in recent weeks, Rodgers has had a great season, our defence has been brilliant, Woodson DPOTY?. Our running game has also improved over the past few weeks, looking at Grant's stats he always seems to end the season strongly so probably no surprise there. With Rodgers, Woodson, Jennings, Driver, Finley, Grant, Matthews et al. we have enough about us to do some damage in the playoffs.
Eddie Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Packers and the Cowboys are the in-form sides going into the play-offs...I expect one of them to make the superbowl.
Eddie Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I'm not exaclt a huge fan, but I have a lot of respect for what Romo has been quietly going about doing over the past few weeks.
Redrose49er Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 '9ers chipped in with an 8-8 season, could have been much better after some very tight finishes (Favre !) and a QB situation, hopefully get the OL sorted in the draft with our 2 1st round picks.
modes98 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I hate the Cowgirls. I really do. Everyone does. Although the Redskins annoy me as well. Good to see the Giants have acted quickly to remove Bill Sheriden. Just hope we are as quick to remove the troublemakers from the dressing room. Big defensive draft coming up. Had a little bet on the superbowl. Packers 22/1 and Vikings 13/1. Chargers and the Packers are the 2 in form teams.
