Vick had to miss 2 years and forfeit millions for dogfighting, yet Stallworth only misses one year for killing someone?

It makes absolutely no sense at all. Vick deserves the sanctions placed upon him without a doubt and certainly it looks like Stallworth is getting away with it way, way to lightly.

Saying that, Vick has done his time and should be allowed a second chance. Just to clarify, I was never a huge fan of his even before the dog fighting thing so...but also, I am a dog person and I can not understand...I can not get my head around how someone can bring themselves to do the things Michael Vick actually did. He really does need to show that he has learned something and grown as a person. There must be remorse for this to be acceptable to me.

Also, I just didn´t see this coming. QB is probably the last position that needs strengthening. We need a TE...But hey, if he can get back to what he was before prison, we have another weapon to add to the mix. And that is exciting.

Did Stallworth even go to the clink?

He served 24 days.

Went to Giants vs Panthers preseason game tonight. Awesome day out and fairly interesting game with a sack/fumble/turnover TD on the final play of the game.

Completely different situations. Vick was premeditated and repetitive. He was also in the clink for a large portion of that time which is a hard place to ask to go out on Sundays. Stallworth was an accident, however culpable he may have been in that he'd had a few.

So dogfighting is worse than murder because it happened more times?

I guess you're not listening or don't want to. Stallworth did not murder anyone but this thread is not the place to debate the vagaries and intracies of criminal law.

I'm looking forward to the season.

By the letter of the law he didn't murder anyone, but when he got in the car drunk it was the same thing as firing a loaded gun down a street. Someone died because of his criminal actions.

Again (speaking of not wanting to listen), the respective punishments no where near fit the respective crimes. I guess you just think canine life is more important than human life. Hard to listen to that.

From SI.com, sums up Cutler the best:

  Quote
Jay Cutler: Couch Slouch missed the memo on Cutler, the one that talks about him having the strongest arm since David (yeah, that David, who not only slew Goliath with a powerful slingshot but did it off his back foot) and being a "difference maker" and having bottled ice water in his veins and being, quite possibly, one of the top five QBs in the league.

No, the Jay Cutler I know had a 17-20 record in three years with the Broncos and an 11-34 record in four years at Vanderbilt. Then again, he was 26-1 his final two years in high school, which means the city of Chicago should be excited about him if he's enrolling at Northside College Prep. Otherwise, we're looking at a 28-54 record since 2001 and a fella who always talks a good game but always walks into the losers' locker room.

He's got 9-7 written all over him -- if he overachieves.

Too many unanswered questions about the Eagles so far this preseason. It was a tough camp, losing Bradley can be a huge difference maker down the road. There´s tons of talent in this years Eagles team and it should look promising. It does look promising, but I have a hard time being confident about the outcome this season. The team is definitely capable of going to the Superbowl. But if the O-Line hasn´t gelled, Westbrook gets injured, Celek goes down, the LB corps don´t work out...well...

As for who´s going to win it - it´s wide open. There are plenty of very good candidates this season.
