[Archived] Worse Than Women

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I mainly just read the board these days but I have say, whilst there are some discussions that are worth reading, the controversial ones nearly always degenerate into mudslinging, slagoff fests! In my opinion, and no doubt I'll get verbally hammered for raising this, whilst it's great to have debates, and lots of people have different points of view, a lot of the posters on here are worse than women for arguing for the sake of it!

Spoils a good topical debate!

Grrrrrr!

Rant over!

Don't include that tony gale bloke. He really is a master debater

Game Set & Match to Rosie.

T'internet has certainly allowed lots of people to express "unusual" views, and I don't exempt myself from this.

It also allows people with obsessions to bang on about them at length.

It also allows people with pointless things to say to say them. "I think the attendence will be 18,259"

I don't suppose this site is much different from any other really

try this one

Much like the political arena eh Rosie? All hot air with lots of empty vessels making the most sound etc. Have you listened to PM's question time lately?

There's a moderator at large who would close this thread on the back of that comment alone. You need to be more careful!

Read back on the locked thread - which had attracted scores of great contributions before being consistently hijacked by one poster - and even then the debate was within the published rules, within any moral or ethical boundary, and was a good discussion on that particular subject. Thenodrog made a perfectly valid point within the rules of the MB and then ...

There's been a moderating Cockerup, and the one poster who is causing ructions all over every thread is probably laughing into his stethoscope - because the thread has been closed so his provocative stirring is now beyond challenge. The same poster has been banned twice already this season I believe, but allowed back.

When one individual becomes so obnoxious to a large number of MB members that they choose to make that dislike public in the forums, then there's probably a valuable message. If the message is taken on board then it will certainly benefit the forum, and probably the individual. Re-open the thread, let people have their say, let doc gobshite consider how he expresses himself, and move on. Don't push it under the carpet.

Have to agree with you rosie, and I suspect it's the reason why so many good contributors to this site have disappeared.

I keep seeing this suggestion rolled out every now and again but do you not think some people simply move on from time to time? Imo it's like people stopping going to Ewood. They make a myriad of excuses rather than giving the real reason, usually that they have simply outgrown BRFC or only went in the first place cos we wer a rich headline club etc.

So can you give us any idea of who Alan? Can you name 10 or a dozen even?

The same poster has been banned twice already this season I believe, but allowed back.

How do you know that Tris?

Most of the interesting subjects are hijacked with the intention of getting them closed, it is up to the board to appoint moderators who are capable of stopping the trouble makers and allow the discussions and heated debates continue or the forum will fall into obscurity!

well its since been removed but i got a 50% warning for using a word that also means what you do to a pancake!!! that was off cocker who incidently told me he wasnt a mod anymore and i then got a 25% warning for mentioning i was watching the villa game on a stream didnt give a link or anything and i know for a fact others get away with that every week(that was ste B).That was knocked off after my 3rd or 4th ban in 3 months and im currently on 25% this one was for daring to "moan about the board".

www.youforum.co.uk Well go and set you're own messageboard up if you want.

Rosie, lovely to hear from you again, hope you and the family are all doing well

Flopsy, surely that sort of response causes more harm than good? It seems to be the default response of the ‘powers that be’ to the mildest of criticism. Yes if people break the rules ban them- it your prerogative to do so. I realise you guys do a good job with the limited time & resources– yet surely the board should be open to constructive criticism? If not then I apologise for stepping out of lime

People enjoy the diversity that these boards offer; and IMHO the diversity is the unique selling point of the boards. There are other ‘solely football’ boards that do not have the throughput of traffic of BRFCS.

I believe that you would have less ‘moaning’ if a more consistent approach was taken, when handing out warning & bans. Take TGM- he has upset numerous posters recently with his self-grandiose arrogance ( this is without the constant trolling & deliberate sabotage of perfectly good topics) yet he along with other posters seem to get away with comments and actions that others wouldn’t
