Hughesy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Steven Reid - Not done it based on sub appearances or full games - just total games where he has played some part.... Say he was on £20k when he 1st joined until 2007 when he got his new deal & then from 2007 say we put him on about 30k. 15/07/2003 - 01/06/2007 - 20k - 95 games - 2.13 weeks per game = £42,617 02/06/2007 - 22/01/2010 - 30k - 29 games - 4.75 weeks per game = £142,611

tonygreenbank Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Dont know how accurate this data is but they have him down for 27th return along with Jason and Grella! http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php
tonygreenbank Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Roberts played against Celtic yesterday Yes I did see the report of that. perhaps the website refers to returning to league action. If it is next wednesday then it might be interesting to see which dressing room Jason goes to!

Or am I looking into it too much?
Majiball Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 There must be something in the fact that West Ham currently have FIVE players out with hamstring injuries? Or am I looking into it too much? Very common football injury. Focus is normally on the hamstrings antagonist the quadriceps, which is a mistake as they are just as important. Perhaps the fitness coach is focusing on these and thats why its happening but most likely they are being neglected in their training regime.

Ninjathunder Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Yes just got text from rovers!! Excellent!'n
Backroom Tom Posted January 26, 2010 Backroom Posted January 26, 2010 Not like he could do any better is it? I hope its heavily incentive and performance based cause another injury and he could be done for Funny the rumours were he had not signed when he was fit, wonder if there was anything to it
budha Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Official site link: Click BLACKBURN Rovers are pleased to announce that David Dunn has signed a new deal with the club. The 30-year-old forward has put pen-to-paper on a new two-and-a-half year deal, which sees him contracted until the summer of 2012. During his two spells with the club, the Lancashire-born star has made over 250 appearances, scoring 46 goals and is this season's top scorer for the club.
DP Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Despite his injuries I'm far more chuffed about this than I'm disappointed McCarthy is leaving.
sam_rovers Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Glad he's signed a new deal. however, im hoping we won't be as reliant on him as we've been over the past season. He is too injury prone and can't take playing too many games in quick succession.
imy9 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 As I said in another thread if Dunn does not sign a contract it is only because of greed, where are the people now who were claiming that Dunn hates the manager? Surely you dont sign a new contract if that is the case? I think we can safely assume that as it is an extra 2 years on his contract that it is probably the same wages/performance related, where is Hughesy when you need him

Thanks for this Maj, this is the kinda thing I was getting at. Considering the amount that clubs pay their medical teams, I'm amazed that it happens. Although it is a very common footballing injury, to have five seperate players out with the same injury at the same time suggests that something isn't quite right. Oh, and great news about Dunn! Would love to know how the deal is structured and hoping it incentivised in a way that rewards minutes on the pitch.
Hughesy Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Out of the 3 (Dunn, Reid & MGP) that are coming to the end of deals - he's the one im pleased is staying....it will be interesting to see if any of the other 2 stay. Hoilett next please!
tony gale's mic Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Interesting they describe him as a forward and not a midfielder...
Amo Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 We need to be whittling down the wage bill, however possible. I would hope Dunn's new contract is performance-based, but I can't imagine it will be.

Hoilett next please! I'd much much rather it was Hoilett but that looks a large ask right now
roversmum Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Well, I hope it perks him up because the last two times I have seen him play he was unfit and pretty useless (re Dunny)
Shabani Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 250 games 46 goals That is an impressive goal record
Mr. E Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Good that at least he is staying. We can't count on him all season, unfortunately, but he's the last remaining talisman of the club. And TBH I would have been very, very surprised if another Premiership club would be interested in him, considering his injuries.
BigUts Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Great news that he's signed on. Pleased to have him in the squad. I hope we can limit the number of games he plays (as backwards as this may sound!) so we can get the best out of him. Great player with a great appetite for success, I just hope he can stay fit!
John Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I thought he was not going to sign a new contract because of Sam............?
DeadlyDirk Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Any news on his injury yet? Glad to hear he signed a deal, still hope it's heavily performance based though, excellent player when fit.
