But I don't think conventional wingers, a la Ripley and Wilcox, fit into Mowbray's requirements. Have we ever been linked to any? The players we signed last season we weren't linked with until the last minute. Some we didn't find out about until they signed. Don't believe the link-hype. As for tactics it was always more 4-2-3-1, or 4-4-1-1. Dack was never in a midfield three alongside Evans and Smallwood. He was much further forward in general.
