thenodrog Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Can't really see anyone doing it again in the forseeable future. Either strikers are rubbish or somebody else buys em.
Florida Rover Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 o2g you are the winner and got the bonus.well done
OJRovers Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Out of interest - who is our top goalscorer still on the books? McCarthy has 46 according to Wikipedia, maybe 47 after saturday Derbs has 18, if he stays with us for the rest of his career and starts regularly he could get to 100 Roque probably has around 30?
Florida Rover Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 Benni mcCarthy 115 apps 46 goals David Dunn 237 apps 41 goals MGP 199 apps 32 goals RSC 70 apps 29 goals Jason Roberts 85 apps 17 goals Tugay 288 apps 13 goals Samba 92 apps 8 goals Warnock 101 apps 6 goals Ooijer 91 apps 2 goals The Axe 135 apps 2 goals Carlos Villaneuva 16 apps 2 goals El Hadj Diouf 8 apps 1 goal not available Derbyshire 86 apps 20 goals Emerton 229 apps 13 goals Gallagher 73 apps 8 goals Steven Reid 124 apps 7 goals These represent all goals scored for Rovers in all competitions.Benni's going to have to pick up the pace to get to the century mark.

Suprised to see The Axe with that many appearances! Derbyshire is our best bet if he stays with us.
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 What a set of interesting stats. Actually, I'm surprised to see so many players with so many appearances; this team is in danger of turning into a new version of Saxton's team that turned out for a decade. Also, Roberts one goal ever 5 games for a striker is pathetic - no other word for it. And I wouldn't back MGP to score another 30 goals if he could play for the next 100 years
AggyBlue Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 These represent all goals scored for Rovers in all competitions.Benni's going to have to pick up the pace to get to the century mark. You seem to have forgotten our star midfielder
Florida Rover Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 Just for you Aggy: Keith Andrews 28 apps 3 goals Happy now?
Hughesy Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Benni mcCarthy 115 apps 46 goals - Ave = 2.5 games per goal RSC 70 apps 29 goals - Ave = 2.41 games per goal Jason Roberts 85 apps 17 goals - Ave = 5 games per goal Derbyshire 86 apps 20 goals - Ave = 4.3 games per goal Samba 92 apps 8 goals - NOT A BAD STAT FOR Samba from Defence!!
dingles staying down 4ever Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 What a set of interesting stats. Also, Roberts one goal ever 5 games for a striker is pathetic - no other word for it. And I wouldn't back MGP to score another 30 goals if he could play for the next 100 years Someone told me that Sky reported the other day that the most Roberts has scored in a premiership season is 8 at any of his clubs. Can the stat masters confirm because it backs up Roberts' strike rate if true
bob fleming Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Suprised to see The Axe with that many appearances! I was surprised to see he had scored that many goals!
Ozz Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 It's an almost Batty-esque return. I saw all of his goals for Rovers and have seen all of the Axes too.
only2garners Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Presumably the table includes sub appearances. If so it will significantly skew the record for anyone who regularly comes off the bench.
CrazyIvan Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Presumably the table includes sub appearances. If so it will significantly skew the record for anyone who regularly comes off the bench. Does it include reserve team football too?
Florida Rover Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 Yes it includes substitute appearances but not reserve team football only league and cup competitions. Jason Roberts scored 14 goals for Wigam 2005/2006(Premier League),21 goals for Wigan 2004/2005 (fizzy Pop) ,12 goals (4 for Pompey in Prem,8 for wigan in Fizzy Pop) 2003/2004,3 goals for WBA 2002/2003 (Prem)
