jodrell Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 It seems like it's a big game for the scousers as well. If we can keep it tight the fans might get on their backs and give us a chance.Of the so called big four in the games at Ewood i thought the scousers were the poorest. maybe we can get a draw http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...090410-1109.htm
greggyk Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 If we sit back..they will destroy us...The way they've built this up is the wrong decision in my opinion. ..They will be nervous, If Rovers attack, we can take advantage... Is Roque back does anyone know?? Be a massive boost
Ossydave Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 On seeing the squad I don't fancy our chances: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...rem/7978841.stm Blackburn (from): Zaluska, Dixon, Dods, Wilkie, Dillon, Kovacevic, Grainger, Caddis, Kenneth, Wesolowski, Swanson, Gomis, Buaben, Conway, Sandaza, D Robertson, Feeney, Shala, McGovern.

If we're going to get the entire Dundee United team on loan then we should probably start to panic a little!
philipl Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Isn't it amazing that the BBC's sub-editing repeatedly shows they are employing people who know are totally ignorant of football. Most three year olds in Penzance would spot that one. Anyway, this Times article is far more informative than anything the BBC has managed thus far oin the subject of Gerrard. Being wicked for a moment, a pro footballer can easily exploit an opponent's groin problem by the simple expedient of delaying moving the ball to invite a lunge. Rafa would be bonkers to play Gerard on Saturday thinking he could rest him at Chelsea and think that would be that. Rafa is bonkers....
RevidgeBlue Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I think we have to get out of this "it doesn't matter - there's more important games next week" mentality for games against the top 4. If we go in again with that attitude we'll get another Emirates style whupping and you never know whether goal difference might be significant at the end of the season. There should be no reason at all why we can't go there, get in their faces, keep it tight and give them a hard game.

There should be no reason at all why we can't go there, get in their faces, keep it tight and give them a hard game. Agree. The mentality should be that if we were to pick up a point, or even all 3, it would be massive and we will be closer to the survival line. Picking up no points just adds pressure to the next game(s) we play. Comments like Dunny's below may be a sign that the pressure is off, but hopefully everyone is working their as*es off tomorrow. "All the games are big, but without sounding too negative about this weekend, games against the likes of Liverpool aren't going to be the ones that keep us up," said the 29-year-old. It is going to be games like the one against Stoke the week after. They are going to be the games that decide which league we are going to be playing in".
67splitscreen Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 It seems quite clear that Liverpool see this a title decider. Biggest game in 13 years
67splitscreen Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 BS hopes to get Rafa moaning. Sounds similar to comments made by Sam, from the other night (evening with Sam) Whinge & Moan.
John Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Andy Gray: Every point is so significant for Blackburn at the moment. They are not winning enough games; expect them to try and spoil the game at Anfield and make it horrible in pursuit of a draw. They'll be very happy with that.
sanlorenzo Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 What is the deal with Roque.? Is he making the trip or not? The news reports are ambiguous. Anyone have the inside skinny?
Blue n White Rover Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 That's good news then... Where's his arm sticking out from? Tommorows result means nothing, the week after is the most important one. However, a hammering tommorow may dent our confidence. I'll take a draw
Stuart Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Where's his arm sticking out from? Tommorows result means nothing, the week after is the most important one. However, a hammering tommorow may dent our confidence. I'll take a draw Surely Riley can't put in a worse display than Walton last week though! If he was a horse, he'd be in the adhesives aisle at B&Q by now. Have to agree though, a draw or narrow defeat will do. Maintain confidence and keep the goal difference down. Assuming Gerrard isn't fit, Alonso will be the one to keep quiet. The worst thing for us though would be if they play a "weakened side". Too many players with a point to prove. As full strength as possible please with all of them half-hearted with one eye on Chelsea next week.
Tris Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 As many fans will know Saturday will be Liverpool's nearest home game to the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough next Wednesday. A member of the Fans Forum suggested a while ago that Rovers fans do something to mark their respect and as a result the club are paying for a wreath on behalf of Rovers fans which will be placed at the Hillsborough memorial before Saturday's game by the Chairman of the Fans Forum with reps from Liverpool's Supporters Trust. As the memorial is right by the entrance for away fans, look out for it if you're going. As one who went to Anfield on the Monday night after Hillsborough I would very much like to attend this small ceremony. Do we know what time the wreath will be laid? I shall have Tom with me so I need a bit of warning to gte myself there on time. Thanks. Anyone got a confirmed time for this yet?
nicko Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 What is the deal with Roque.? Is he making the trip or not? The news reports are ambiguous. Anyone have the inside skinny? I would be amazed if Roque played...swelling on knee, not worth the risk. And don't call me 'skinny.'
1864roverite Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Having learned thar Mr Riley, the top 4's favouritne referee, is in charge its death by tv for Rovers. expect a penatly AGAINST expect a number of yellow cards for ROVERS expect a SENDING OFF for ROVERS expect Sam to get sent to the stands, along with the physio, doctor and the kitman and finally, expect Riley to send the Rovers fans out of the ground as he goes into a card frenzy
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 It's hard to know what to say- every week my paper tells me that Santa ( and Grella for that matter) will be back in a weeks time and when that Saturday rolls around it's the same story , fit next week ! Who do we play up front ? No point playing Benny up front on his own in a 4-5-1 he doesn't work half as hard enough. Benny and Samba- Can't see the point in playing your best defender up front at Anfield ( unless it's to keep from getting sent off ). Benny and Diouf- Who'll replace Diouf out wide on the right ? My paper also tells me the man with the glass hamstring may not play and our long throw specialist is doubtful with a calf strain. Who'd be big Sam ? Anything less than a 3-0 will be a plus , lets just hope the other results go our way. Boro v Hull - draw. Stoke v Newcastle- home win. Portsmouth v West Brom- draw Sunderland v Red Rats- away win.

dave birch Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I took it as a compliment... That's like saying you're actually carrying a bit of extra ballast or at least it's what I mean when I say that....
