thenodrog Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I think we will nearly all feature on here and I'm no doubt shooting myself in the foot. Still it might pass some of the close season. First off and a bit unfair but he's certainly earned it with his stubbornly disloyal stance. http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?s=&...st&p=621609 Should JW decide to retire don't give up your day job wagster....

philipl Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 This one caught my eye: QUOTE(Nicko) During the talks it became obvious that Shearer and his advisers wanted too many clauses and demands - all different kinds - and they put a few backs up. I'm not sure of the specifics, but the areas that caused problems included his media work, possible merchandising deals and the inevitable compensation issues if someone else came on for him. Funny, because it reminded me of when he was a player and spoke to both Blackburn and Man U when he was leaving Southampton. At the time I was close to Fergie - now that WAS a long time ago - and by chance spoke to him minutes after Shearer said 'no.' He was raging and ripped into him, saying his '****ing agent' just wanted to talk about clauses and his NEXT move. Sir Furious didn't like that at all. Shearer has changed agents since, but he is apparently still the same animal. Perhaps the Trafford Borough under 12s really will be paraded at the KC Stadium a week today!
thenodrog Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 July 7th.......... Opening paragraph. Seems our intrepid reporter was sold a dummy. Still no one is right all the time eh? http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?s=&...st&p=633825

You could alternatively buy his book.
thenodrog Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 This is the first reference that I could find. Hang your head ally. http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?s=&...st&p=615040 Perhaps if you wanted to check with the source - rather than some 19th hole bore - you would know that Brad didn't want to go. I bet flopsy doesn't get all huffy about this...... http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?s=&...st&p=254980
Iceman Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Gord, just reading that about next manager. Interesting how Sam was hardly anybody's choice, yet he is the one that saved us.

It's obvious that some of our erstwhile contributors have nothing of a life other than this messageboard.
BiggusLaddus Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Isn't this all a bit distasteful and unnecessary?
thenodrog Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 Isn't this all a bit distasteful and unnecessary? Prob depends whether one possesses a sense of humour or not. Just a bit of fun, and no doubt I've dropped as many clangers as anybody. Anyway (correct me if I am wrong) not long ago I think it was sar who had an old quote from Jimmk2 as his sig.
