Toogs to do a Zidane, volley in to the top corner, then a headbutt against one of the West Brom players. True legend and one that will be sorely missed at Ewood. Im still hoping he will play some sort of role at the club.

Riley was watching him against Pompy getting ready to book him even though someone else was subbed! No need to worry about him getting sent off on Sunday, no suspensions. I'd hope that the ref would let it slide this one last time.

The ref's Mike Jones, aka the twonk who sent Beeni off at the Hawthorns.

It would be very fitting for Tugay to be sent off, after all, he has received 5 red cards in Premier League football at Rovers! Tugay was even sent off on my mascot day in 2004 v Boro. Arguably, he cost us the game that day, but he is still a legend and always will be!

Doran is the future and is already better than Pedersen its about time we made him play for his place.

WHat planet are you on? Doran has done nothing and Pedersen has been one of our better performers in the last eight games!

Hope Doran does well but the only Rovers players who have done better than MGP under Allardyce are Samba, Nelsen, Robinson and Diouf.

MGP has been rubbish for ages before Sam turned up but he actually looks decent now.

I can't wait for this, first game at Ewood with no pressure in a long long time, hopefully we can enjoy some good football and a appropriate send off for Tugay.

Good luck Sparky and enjoy your last game.

I just dont understand why you would swap Northern English weather, Ewood and Rovers for sun, sea and whingeing Aussies

whinging...!? Geez

on another note... I can't believe the audacity of these big pay tv companies not showing the last rover's game and toogs farewell ta boot...! It's an outrage!

I think alot of players are playing for there future in this game, if the likes of Pederson, Benni, Grella etc don't turn up and perform against the worst team in the league then they should be bombed out of the club!

Really? So how do you propose we can do that to players under contract?

btw good preview ihtd. :tu:

I'm really looking forward to the game today. It would be great to finish with a win and put this horrible season behind us! Everyone is thinking about Tugay's last game for the club and it will be sad to see him go because he's been an absolute legend for Rovers. Easily one of the finest players we have ever had. If we get a penalty today, I hope he takes it. I hope Andre Ooijer gets a great send of as well, because he has been another good player for us, who scored probably the most important goal of the season for us against Spurs. My team would be

Robinson

Ooijer Zurab Givet Warnock

Diouf Grella Tugay Pedersen

McCarthy Samba

I would also like to see Villanueva get another run out before he leaves. It's unfortunate that we have had such a horrible season, because he has not had a real chance to show his ability, which I believe he has a lot of. If we can move up a couple of places today as well, that would be fantastic, as it will mean a more respectable league finish, which the players and fans can be pleased about and put more money in the coffers.

Rovers to win 3-0. McCarthy, Tugay and Diouf to score.

Hopefully a day of experimentation, I always wanted to see a few of our players in different roles. I'd want to see if one or two are worth keeping for next year, if they can't perform against WBA then????

Robbo - GK - One more good performance/clean sheet and he may get called up, would be interesting to know if any of the england staff have been to watch him play.

Andrews - RB - He's not good enough for CM and has done OK in the role, Be honest with him tell him to prove he's good enough to play there and see what happens.

Warnock - LB - I'd like to see him back here, he's played all season in the middle practically. He's one other clubs will be looking at, and I think he might be looking at them so if he is tell him last impressions and all that.

Zurab - CB - We all know what he can do, but he's barely played, I'm beginning to wonder if he's rated at Rovers???

Ooijer - CB - Captain for the day, he's done well for us and his departure is going to be over shadowed by the leg-end, so he can have the armband so he doesn't feel left out, Ahhh.

Doran - RM - Tell him he's starting, its his chance and lets see if he can take it.

Olsson - LM - If he can't perform here then he's going to struggle, but he's done OKish, last chance to prove he merits a role as a squadie, his best performances in the reserves have come here, we need pressure on MGP.

MGP - CM - Great engine, but no pace, no trickery, he's always reminded me of barry before he was moved inside. I think he'd thrive there. It would also bring good balance to CM a right footer and a left footer.

Grella - CM - Tell him its his last chance to prove to the fans he's the man to protect our back four, this season.

Tugay - ST - Its his last game, I want him to score.

Samba - ST - Lots of knock downs for Tugay to volley at Goal.

It'll never happen.

Anyway Rovers win Today, hopefully a better finish than last season.

I wish you hadn't reminded me of that debacle. Weather was much the same as well.

We'd just come back from our honeymoon and it was something of an anti-climax. To say the players didn't turn up would be the understatement of the year. I never wanted to see that again. Unfortunately we did this season which is why they need to sign off convincingly and in style.

Enjoy Sparky. I'm leaving these shores for Adelaide in Sept so have a few games yet. I'll be an emotional wreck at my last Rovers game before leaving. Hope your's is a good one.

FAr better in cm. Hasn't a clue at rb, at least in cm could pop up with some goals.

Ooijer - CB - Captain for the day, he's done well for us and his departure is going to be over shadowed by the leg-end, so he can have the armband so he doesn't feel left out, Ahhh.

Agree, he deserves a good send off too.

Doran - RM - Tell him he's starting, its his chance and lets see if he can take it.

Doubt he's good enough here either, no indication he's good enough as yet. Wouldn't waste it.

MGP - CM - Great engine, but no pace, no trickery, he's always reminded me of barry before he was moved inside. I think he'd thrive there. It would also bring good balance to CM a right footer and a left footer.

Think this could be a good move, and is an experiment I'd like to see happen. Givet at lb, warnock at lm if this is to happen.

Well I reckon a win's on the cards. WBA have nothing to play for, many of their players will be shipped out and have their minds on next season. Rvs guarenteed a fantastic atmosphere and even with a few injuries we'll have more than enough to punnish the worst defence in the prem. Come on rovers.

Bit of a let off in the end. We'd either have been humiliated straight off or we'd have hung on in there and the extra matches / injuries and suspensions could easily have seen us relegated.

Andrews - sorry you'll never convince me he merits a role full stop, but the fact he's our best midfielder according to opta just speaks volumes for the quality we have in that role. I stuck him there as I wanted Ooijer in his favoured role for his last game, he's earnt it. Since his stock seems to have risen lets just hope its risen enough for someone to come take him off our hands, he's just not good enough he tries but its too late for him. He plays so he's in the shop window.

We'll only find out if they're good enough (olsson et al), if they play. WBA are the worst team this season and if our young hopefuls can't at least compete then we may need to re-think there roles/development here. Its not often you get a game when you can do this in pro football, it would also show that we're prepared to give youth a chance something unfortunatly we're not renowned for, not only would it show the footballing world we're changing our stance under Sam, but it may inspire a few more of the kids currently on our books.

If we're going to re-organise our wages these are the players that we need to know can or can't cut it, can you imagine the combined wages of the following:

Treacy

Olsson

Judge

Andrews

Haworth

Blackman

Zurab

Gally

Rigters

Doran

Bunn

All those players are on several grand a week and we have no clue whether they can cut it or not, several off them have not done well when given the chance, we have to be more ruthless where our money is concerned from now on and if they don't look like making the grade we must move them on as much for their sake as for ours. Championship clubs and maybe one or two premiership clubs would pay money for them/pay there wages for a year.

just had txt off someone saying game may be delayed til 6 due to smash on m6? anyone else heard this?

Highways Agency says there are delays of up to 2 hours on the M6 in Cheshire due to a smash, but that they expect things to be back to normal by 2.45pm. Should give WBA fans enough time to make it.

Rovers' talisman Tugay will lead the club in their final match of the 2008/09 season.

The midfield maestro retires at the end of the season, but he'll wear the captain's armband in Rovers season finale.

Sam Allardyce has made two changes from the side that faced Chelsea last weekend, Andre Ooijer comes back in to replace the injured Ryan Nelsen, whilst Benni McCarthy is preferred up front to Carlos Villanueva.

Whilst there's a place on the bench for Jason Roberts.

ROVERS: Robinson, Andrews, Ooijer, Givet, Warnock, Diouf, Grella, Tugay ©, Pedersen, McCarthy, Samba.

Subs: Bunn (GK), Khizanishvili, Mokoena, Villanueva, Treacy, Olsson, Roberts.

WEST BROM: Kiely, Robinson, Koren, Greening ©, Brunt, Mensequez, Zuiverloon, Olsson, Valero, Donk, Fortune.

Subs: Carson (GK), Do-Heon, Moore, Simpson, Downing, Sawyers, Wood.
