Back on Planet Earth, there is nothing wrong with fans making comments which improve a concept. Rovers, like everyone else don't get it right 100% first off. If the cost of the 4 extra games meant a DE season ticket holder paid a total of 199 quid for all 19 home games that would be fair and accordingly more tickets would be sold. Its a good idea and the club should take note of it for next year.

Rovers will sell every seat in the Darwen End for the 4 "extra" games (with or without Burnley) at 35 quid each.

You want the club to throw away #25 per seat for those extra games, to tickle the tummies of people who either can't read (15 GAMES) or missed out on the BBE and the Riverside at 199.

Planet Earth says 15 GAMES FOR 150 QUID ... 19 GAMES FOR 199 QUID.

TAKING EWOOD BACK!!!

???? ????

I`ve got to say i`m VERY disappointed with the clubs decision to give Bumley the whole of the Darwen End :(

What`s the point in promoting TAKING EWOOD BACK when you`re gonna give up to 8000 tickets to your arch-rivals??? It`s a case of "roll over & tickle my tummy, cos those nasty folk from Bumley are coming to town"

I`ve bought 2 Season tickets for the Darwen End.....& yes, i half expected to be moved for the Bumley game. I can accept that.

But that`s not the point i`m trying to make.

The point is Rovers could`ve told Bumley or the police "we`re only prepared to give them the 'legal' minimum number of tickets stated by the FA".

Give them 2000 seats in the Darwen End stand, have a massive 'no mans land' filled with police & stewards then fill the rest of the ground with ROVERS FANS!!!! :rover:

The last 2 times we played at the turd, Rovers fans were HEAVILY vetted by the club & police.......yet when they played at Ewood, everyman & his dog turned up. I remember tales of 400 suicide squad numpties being frog marched from Rishton station to the ground!!!......but yet they still let them in!!!!

I am going to Email the club & protest in the strongest manner i can. I URGE others to do the same!

I would rather Ewood Park have 30,000 screaming Rovers fans for that game & no Bumley fans at all.......than give them 8000 tickets.

I AM VERY ANGRY & DISAPPOINTED WITH BLACKBURN ROVERS FC!!!!.....get a backbone FFS!!!

Completely agree. I too am sending an email and making a phone call.

Good points well made Tris.

A point that most people are forgetting is that most Premier League clubs have waiting lists for season tickets. I'm now the proud owner of one despite living in Ireland, as for the first time ever it is worth me buying one instead of buying from game to game. These tickets have been on sale for over a month, in this time last seasons customers have had the chance to renew their's and new customers have been able to snap up the remaining seats in the BBE and Riverside. If you've missed out then tough. You still have the choice of the DE and JW for the season at less or the same money as the BBE was last term.

Those crying about being "moved" for the Dingles should remember that the £150 you paid entitled you to 15 games of the clubs choosing, not yours, so you're not actually being moved!

If you want 19 games in the same seat pay for it, if not don't! It's crazy, can you imagine hundreds of United "fans" moaning about having to pay £45 for a game because all the £35 ones had gone!

Anyhow, see you all at Ewood next season :tu:

If Money was the overriding issue to Rovers then the wouldn't be doing the offer at all would they? There are plenty of clubs other than the big 4 that we could have charged 35 quid to and sold out the Blackburn end with home fans. I was under the impression that the iniative was all about getting the Darwen end full of Rovers fans.

Can't remember who first suggested it but the ideas of either a guaranteed seat elsewhere for £199 or even offering the package of games to DE fans for say £80 would both have had fans flocking in bigger numbers than i'm assuming they are now. Can't see anything wrong at all with people making suggestions to an idea. No Idea is so good that it can';t be improved upon regardless of who comes up with it. The day the club stop taking on feedback will be a sad one indeed.

I never understand the idea that all feedback is criticism, if it is constructive then what is the issue? It doesn't affect me one jot cos i've paid £350 for me st in the Jack Walker, I simply want the offer to be as big a success as possible, surely the same aim as the club.

We are at July 1 and apparently the Blackburn End Lower and Riverside were sold out for Season Tickets prior to the transfers kicking in.

Typically, I think I am correct that something like 50% of Season Tickets get sold in the period 1 July to the second week into the new season.

On that basis, there is no way anyone can say the Darwen End initiative is a failure. Even if that 50% proportion halves to 25% because of all the interest in the new prices then the Darwen End scheme will have sold out by the time City roll into town.

Tris - What logic is there for Rovers to not offer tickets at say £18 to the Darwen End season ticket holders when that is the maximum that all other season ticket holders in the ground are paying?

It comes down to two reasons:-

a-) Now that Rovers have these fans as season ticket holders, they will want to see the other 4 games and know they can probably squeeze as much cash out of them as possible. This is unlikely because it goes against every pricing policy of the last two years that Rovers have done for home fans. (before anyone says why did people buy the cheaper tickets then see my reply previous about why I believe people chose the Darwen End tickets.

b-) Rovers need to ensure that tickets for the other 4 are available on a match-by-match basis. If they were too cheap to the Darwen End season ticket holders then they would snap up the majority of the tickets and very few would be avaialble match-by-match. Maybe this is indeed against Premier League rules as a poster mentioned above. Now Rovers will have known this when they released season ticket prices and also would have known match day prices at the same time. Why could they not have revealed the £25 price then so that everyone knew what they were buying and what they would have to pay?

I find it staggering that people are moaning about the season ticket prices in the Darwen End. I can only assume that people didn't bother to read the accompanying booklet that was sent out with season ticket applications. It states quite clearly that the Darwen End was £150 for 15 games and this was unreserved seating. It also states that the four games not included in the season ticket would be chosen by the club and that a number of factors would be taken into account - including policing. It also states that the Darwen End season ticket does NOT GURANTEE admission to a particular home first team match. It clearly states that this reduced entitlement is reflected in the price. It also states that season ticket holders in this area will be offered a peferential booking period for tickets elsewhere in the stadium for these four games.

Clearly the club have spelt out in detail the possible drawbacks of buying a Darwen End Season Ticket. If, having read that booklet, people weren't happy there were three other stands from which to buy tickets. Two of those stands offered tickets at just £199 for a guaranteed seat at all 19 games.

Manchester United and Liverpool were obvious candidates for two of those games. Economically, the club would have been negligent not to include them. They will fill the Darwen End and at £35 a seat rather than £10. At a time when the club is struggling to raise money it is vital that they maximise the income from Away fans - hence the high match day prices. As someone who goes to all the away games, I've noted that £35 is a fairly standard price and that many grounds are more expensive.

Once Burnley won promotion it was obvious that the Darwen End would have to be for "away" fans only for that game. The segregation issues clearly will have dictated this. I suspect the number of tickets that the Rovers allow Burnley will also be dictated by the safety issues. However, if that section of the ground is unavailable to home fans then the club might as well sell as many tickets as possible at £35 each.

Ultimately, the club have to strike a balace between financial viability and encouraging support. Personally, I think they have got it just about right.

I will accept them getting 7k if we get the full end at Burnley

We won't. The most improtant thing to me is to win the match. I want the 6 points off them, I'll be there at Ewood, and I'll try my best to get tickets for the reverse fixture, but I won't be angry at the club if I don't manage to get them.

Some people are taking this far beyond the line. We have the cheapest season tickets in the PL, and yet some people want to moan.

How does that work?

Exactly parsonblue.

Plus policing considerations almost certainly ruled out having any Rovers fans in the Darwen end for at least three of the four games.

Do the moaners want the Rovers' License revoked?

There is a distinction between "moaning" and suggesting improvements. People need to grow up and not react so hysterically. There will be changes next season, its in the nature of things.

I've read the comment a few times now that we won't get the full end at their place. How so? I know someone mentioned they have a daft screen in now but apart from that surely we have to get the full end?

Rumours a plenty that Burnley are going to segregate the away end next year and have half of it filled with home fans. [/url]

The screen in Burnley's away end has been removed thus providing around 4,500 seats. The police wont let Blackburn & Burnley fans be in the same tier due to obvious crowd trouble. So we should get around 4,000 tickets for the game at Turf Moor!

Could u imagine what would go on at Ewood if Both Rovers & Burnley Fans were in the Darwen End. The police will have said they wont allow this at any costs!!!

Just been told by someone close to the club, that Burnley are selling 1500 season tickets in the cricket field stand next season, so our allocation is down to 2500.

So surely if what Gav says is true, and we have no reason to doubt him, it must be the clubs call to give them the whole Darwen end and not the police? I mean that would make more sense. Many clubs manage to have local derbies and other flashpoint games and have opposing fans in the same stand so it's not really a valid argument is it?

I'd be very unhappy if it was the club's decision to give Burnley the whole end and not under police orders.

On another point... would the DE s/t holders be happier if the club were to have Man Utd as one of the 15 games?

I don't see why we couldn't name Burnley/City/Everton/Liverpool as the 4 games. All of which would sell out the ground at the same prices.

Plus it would give Man Utd a bit of their own medicine in terms of giving us hardly any seats every year.

If this were the case then for £150 you would get 15 games including Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd - which surely no-one could complain about.

Exactly Manchester Blue.

You just can't get your head around way our derby is dealt with by the local police. Much bigger derbies exist and are played each and every season without the need for transport being laid on and restrictions left right and centre.

Ah, but they don't involve Burnley.
