What's the difference between the fans being together at the turnstiles and being together on the concourse? Is the Darwen End concourse already split?

Brian_gallagher85 is right.

In 1994 the Darwen End always had the bottom tier split and segregated. There are doors in the middle of the concourse that can be closed to make two separate concourses.

If ever there was evidence of the silly season this is it. People are getting very excited, writing to the club, no doubt preparing a protest march as I write, against decisions that I'm sure haven't even been made yet. The home game is more than three months away. Does anyone really believe everything has already been agreed? Calm down.

I'm hoping to get a season ticket for me and the missus and my brother online tonight - but he's getting a young adult one. Can we buy a young adult one online or will we have to go to the ticket office with some kind of age proof? I'm sure this will have been covered on here - so apologies for going over old ground.

You're saying all this but the fact is Rovers and Burnley are going to be sat side by side in the Cricket field, in a stand which isn't designed for segregation.

The dingledome is no concern of mine, I'll hopefully be there but what happens at their ground doesn't matter to me at all.

I want the dingles in the top tier away from the pitch and as awkward as possible for them. Not forgetting the valid point mentioned earlier, with the bar shut!!!

I hold my hand up, it did. I remember now from when I sat on there when the BBE was being built.

Rovers have released a statement saying Liverpool, Man Utd and dingles are to have the full Darwen End. The fourth game has not yet been decided.

I think it is pretty obvious the club is hoping the Darwen End ST offer will sell out by the end of July and will then select Everton as the 4th game to really wind-up the Rovers atmosphere for the City game.

If the Darwen End is not being taken up then City will be the 4th game.

I really hope it's Everton and not Man City.

Isn't that reason enough for fans to buy Darwen End ST's?

In light of all the protests regarding the home game with the clarrots, the club should re-evaluate the four games.

The board could score a massive plus by appeasing the fans and excluding Bumley from the four.

Utd, City, Liverpool and Everton would all sell out the DE.

The only way the club/police will re-evaluate the policy for tickets if we sell out all home areas including the Darwen End for the home games at the start of the season.

I can't see it being segregation that's will be an issue, it will be infiltration that will be causing them a headache. It's that City game from a few years ago (just after souness took over) coming back to haunt us.

We've got the games against City, West Ham, Wolves and Villa to prove that with these lower prices we can fill the ground

No way will City be the fourth game! It would be a kick in the teeth to rob DE season-ticket-holders of the opening match. It'll be Everton.

What I still don't fully understand is why we have to give the full stand to the 'big 4' away fans.

If we could sell half of it to the "15 game" Darwen Enders + any other Rovers fans for £35 then why not do that? The revenue would be the same (bar a small deficit for segregation)

I'm sure this would be possible against Burnley/Man Utd and Liverpool.

Obviously this is the first season for this experiment so it will be a learning curve, but i'm just not sure why this hasn't been officially mentioned.

It is obvious that the delay in announcing the 4th game is because of that reason. City this season would be certain to sell 7,000 at £35 so the club are waiting to see if enough Darwen End ST tickets get sold to warrant not moving them for the first game.

Everton are far from sure to sell out 7,000 as this picture I took just before kick-off against them this season shows.

Or it would do if I could remember how to post my pics on here!

There's 8-9 of our group getting season tickets in darwen end in next couple of days. Most were not season ticket holders last year. Darwen end wasnt 1st choice, but we going there because would rather have a good view for the duration of the season then be stuck in the sides of the riverside. Hopefully in the run up to the season other fans will take this attitude and the darwen end will sell well.

I can think of one thing the club could do to make the DE tickets fly out the door...

...announce that the Burnley game IS included.

I recon that would sway a lot of people to getting one - poorly thought out I think by Rovers.

Thing is Eddie, we're sharing the stand at Turf Moor, so I don't think it was based on security.

Your logic doesn't add up. The arrangements at t'Turd will, sadly, give plod a very rough afternoon. That doesn't mean they want a second at Ewood.

Because traditionally we can't see out tickets for Man U or Liverpool anyway even when we give them the whole Darwen End. And that's even when it's been less than £35 to sit in the outer wings of the Jack Walker Stand.

We certainly wouldn't manage to sell out to home fans charging £35 in the Darwen End.

We played them on a Wednesday night though didn't we? I imagine it would be different on a weekend.

Absolutely right. In the 2007-08 season we got 30,000+ against both Liverpool and Manchester United, with Rovers selling out for the first time in years against Utd. That season we did very well and the attendances in those two games reflected that, but we do not always get such excellent crowds, as this season proved.

Attendances in last three seasons v Liverpool and Utd

2006-07 - 29,342 v Liverpool, 26,162 v Utd

2007-08 - 30,033 v Liverpool, 30,316 v Utd

2008-09 - 26,920 v Liverpool, 27,321 v Utd

Giving Rovers half the Darwen end and charging £35 for those games would not work in my opinion.

Perhaps the police or Burnley themselves will have a re-think about splitting the Cricket Field Stand for the derby if there is trouble in one or two of the games before March. Burnley are inviting fans to transfer into the Cricket Field stand if they wish. What are the chances of one or two fans doing just that with the Burnley-Rovers game in mind!

There is a real possibility of trouble in their very first home game. Man Utd is it? Their away fans are hardly shrinking voilets. Lets wait and see.

The main question is still to be answered...if Burnley can manage to put Blue 'n' white next to Clarrot 'n' boo then why not Rovers at Ewood?

If the decision is purely down to money then I am disappointed with our clubs lack of understanding as I am 100% sure we would have shifted the whole of the Darwen end lower for the derby......FILLED WITH BLUE 'N' WHITE.

That said, its looks like Burnley really do put the needs of their home fans first before that of the away fans.

2,000 tickets for their shyte hole eh....you just knew this was going to happen though,VERY ###### off with this. <_<

agree 100%.if they did that it would have a huge result in sales.

hopefully this can be taken up by fans forum or if not lets prey someone at the club reads this board.

they want us to take back ewood? well this is the fans most important game of the season so sort it please rovers.
