they want us to take back ewood? well this is the fans most important game of the season so sort it please rovers.

hows about giving rovers fans chance to take ewood back for the scumley game......give bumley say the top right of the darwen end top tier. Then give rovers fans up to three weeks before the game to sell the darwen end out ...if we dont THEN AND ONLY THEN give the scummers more tickets....

Of course there is a simple solution to the "dingle-dome dichotomy" .... no away fans at either game! It's been done before and would remove problems for police, clubs, fans, etc. It would be interesting to hear the clubs' responses to this suggestion. Maybe it would give some insight into both clubs' motivation.

I think if the club requests it we have to give them 3000 tickets, for grounds less than 30000 10% of capacity, so 2200 at the DingleDome.

But yeah, top tier only, if the ground isnt going to sell out, give them more.

can rovers prove themselves as a fans club by following this through? time will tell....

lets hope so.

There is no way Rovers will give Burnley the top tier and have Rovers fans below. The best we can hope for is splitting the Darwen End lower tier down the middle and segregating that way like we used to.

I still think that Rovers will give Burnley the entire Darwen End to make it easier to keep fans apart.

I`ve had two replies from my PROTEST email to the club.

Tom Finn emailed me back, saying he was disappointed with what i had said. He went on to say Rovers are offering the best season ticket prices in the whole league.

I`ve mailed him back, saying it`s not the prices of the STs....it`s the decision to allocate an entire End of the ground to Bumley (up to 8000 tickets) when it looks like we will get a reduced amount when visiting their ground......so they can give their fans more seats.

If they can give their own fans preferential treatment, then why can`t we???

People......email the club & tell them we aren`t happy with their decision.

(i`m not sure if it`s ethical to post his email reply....so i`ve not done)

Will you PM me his reply Cletus, please :D

Then I'll decide whether its worth it to email the club, as I totally agree with you.

Pathetic. You have your own little crusade against the lowest prices in the league. I for one would NOT like to sit to the side of or below them and get showered with missiles. The only way would be for our fans to be in the top tier which opens the way for pitch invasions. I'd isolate them with huge closed off bits round them. Oh wait, that's what the club has planned!

Its not a 'crusade against the lowest prices in the league'

Its about the fact we are going to recieve only around 2,000 tickets for Turd moor while that shower get upwards of 6,000 tickets for Ewood.

Burnley appear to be making every effort to look after their supporters first, while many of our own fans will be unable to purchase tickets for the game at Ewood.

Jan- as SG said you seem to have misread this completely- it is nothing to do with prices. ?!?!?!

If rovers goal of taking back ewood is good enough to have the darwen end full (or at least half full) of rovers fans for 15 games, the burnley game should be one. It is the most important game for the fans, and one we need the most backing in. The fact burnley have done just that for our game, is the problem, we need to follow suit.

a split darwen end is possible, and safe enough. They are doing it at the dingle dome. Ewood is easier set up for it. As abbey said, just sell tickets 3/4 weeks before the game to rovers fans.

if you dont want to sit anywhere near them etc, then thats fine, but your view seems not to be shared by most rovers fans.

??? What planet are you on Jan? Where did i mention prices? It`s the amount of allocation i emailed them about. I urged the club to put Rovers fans first & give them the bare legal minimum allocation......as it looks like they will do to us.

If it helps any, below is part of the email i had sent to me. Read into it what you will.....

The Burnley game will be high profile, being the first time in forty years that the Clubs have played each other in the highest League. Safety and security issues will be paramount and the two Clubs and the Police will work together to ensure that the match is trouble free. It will be unrealistic in this scenario for us to be mixing home and away fans in the Darwen End as this works against any coaching operation etc.

We have not yet determined as to how many tickets we will allocate to Burnley but to leave seats empty in the stand when demand exists for them may not be in the best interests of safety and would, of course, deprive us of vital revenue. Whilst discussions have not yet taken place with Burnley concerning the fixture at Turf Moor, we would anticipate allocation of the whole of the Cricket Field Stand for the use of our fans as has occurred at previous games at Turf Moor.

The bit i`ve highlighted makes me think they will give them the full allocation.....or near as damn it.

....kinda pisses all over your well informed bit Jan duntit ;)

the key point is that we are going to give them the full DE because of safety/logistical issues, fair enough but then why are they able to handle side by side fans in the far inferior cricketfield stand.

Looks like rovers have made their mind up, so the effort would be best spent getting rovers to make burnley give us their full end.

Sounds like there may be hope of us having the full stand then?

Buy a season ticket - problem solved!

For safety reasons the darwen end cannot be safely plit between both fans - id be very suprised if we could allow segregataion in that stand for them. It makes logistical sense and it is by far the safest option.

As for Clitus - stop your moaning man. Bumley are giving us lower allocation because there stadium has many less seats. If Turd moor held 31k, then we would get many more tickets.

Given the correct use of the organ commonly known as the brain the Darwen End could quite safely be split between opposing fans . It's been done before and will be done again .

People are making it sound as if the Dingles are something akin to a fully equipped Panzer unit .

Now what's the greater threat to world peace ? 8000 dingles feeling secure in their numbers ......or 2000 dingles herded from their coaches by as many police and then stuck up in a corner of the Darwen End ?

I've got another idea that would work alongside Abbey's . Tell the dingles that they have to be in the ground half an hour before kick off - otherwise they don't get in at all . Afterwards keep them in for another half hour .

Is it really beyond our police force to keep in check 2000-4000 football supporters ? If so then it's a sad sign of the times !

And another thought for those who worry about the cost of £30000 or so of lost revenue for vacant seats between the fans ; just how much do you think it could cost us if we lose 2 or 3 points because of the added support that 8000 screaming inbreds might give to Burnley ?

There's also the ill feeling that will be generated if Rovers fans can't get tickets due to the ridiculous amount we are giving them . And it's no good parroting the mantra that they should have bought season tickets - for many it's just not practical for one reason or another .

I strongly suggest the Rovers think long and hard on this issue before making rash decisions and undoing a lot of the excellent work they've done on ticketing policy in the last 6 months or so .

Blue Phil, I think you've hit the nail on the head there. People can love the season ticket prices and the club and still be critical of the Bumley situation. Just because you have a different idea or opinion on how they should be seated or given allocations doesn't mean you're going to burn your season tickets.

Messing up this situation though, will be Rovers and all the good they've done with this fantastic season ticket plan into a little negative light. I think it fair to say that a lot of people will see the Burnley game as the "Big Game" of the season, me included. There's nothing wrong with giving the legal minimum and herding them into a safe a segregated area while still allowing Rovers fans access to the game.

Someone had said if you really want to go see the game then buy a season ticket. That's a silly response and radical reasoning. Just because someone doesn't have a season ticket (for whatever reason it may be) doesn't mean they should be locked out or not have a chance at seeing the biggest home game of the year. If it's because fans with season tickets take up all the room, that's one thing, but to lock out Rovers fans and have more available seating for the Inbred Support is just management by the head administration.

Whatever is the final plan, I'm sure will work and will get the job done. Let's just hope it consists of the legal minimum Inbreds in a high security detention corner with restrictions on how they get to and from the ground.

When was this last done for Burnley @ home?

They are idiots and if it was 2 sets of fans in that stand then id be willing to bet as much as you want that there would be trouble.

Since when did you become the clubs mouthpiece? Cletus has every right to complain, for years we segregated the Darwen End without any trouble.

Touchy! Everyone has an opinion im simply stating mine.
