From a pretty reliable source, latest count at weekend was 19500,JW and crew are very happy!!!!!!!!!!

Ground hold approx 31k at its fullest.

8K DE & BBE, 5K Riverside & JW approx 10k (I presume)

BBE - probably around 7K sold, Riverside 5K, 400 - 500 in DE. We would need to have sold approx 7K in the JW for these numbers to add up - anyone want to do the count on the on-line booking system B)

With proper advertising, and maybe the right types of player coming in (RVN would surely get the crowds in), I can see us selling at least another 2k in the DE. It would be great to sell the whole of the DE lower tier - what a sight that would be on match days :rover:

That would be absolutely fantastic.

How sure are you, without giving names obviously, that that is an accurate figure?

From an employee, but not the ticket office, sounds genuine but you never know until they announce it themselves, lets hope it,s true.............

Enough guessing guys and girls.

Here is an update on ticket sales iv just got.

Current ST's sold - 16,000 - Compared to 14k total last season.

% of New season ticket holders - Between 20-25%

No still to renew - Around 1000

No of Darwen Enders so far - 400 (The club want at least a couple of thousand in here - so we need to push it to friends & family as much as possible)

Was that 14k, the total season ticket sales last year, or the number at this point?

Ta.

14k total.

Sorry thats wrong - see above. The club are hoping for at least 2000 more which will take it to 18k (we still have 1000 that havent renewed) - although ideally they want 19-20k. Had they already reached 19.5k, im 99% certain they would already be screaming it from the rooftops.

As for Marketing - Its on the LET website, on the Bee/ Rock Fm radio, bus-stops, taxis. Oh and the new clubshop windows.

Theres quite a few lads who have expressed their disappointment to me about giving the Darwen end over to Burnley fans, then there are the others who think great the more the merrier to fight with.

Greatly restricting the claret numbers solves both problems to me, but hey after appointing Ince, then Allardyce, when they could have easily appointed no management skills whatsoever Alan Shearer doesnt point to me as sound collective reasoning from these two gentlemen and the rest of the board for that matter. They deserve a bit of flak.

To have overseen then rubber stamped the approval of Robbie Fowler last season and now trialing Vieri simply makes my blood boil gumboots.

Surely it's called backing your manager. There are plenty on here calling for him to get more backing, so it seems a bit off if you are blaming the board for backing him. For the record I'm not impressed by the prospect of Vieri signing but I presume that if he's not up to it allardyce will not want him, unlike Ince with fowler since he seemed to want him regardless of form or fitness

From what you say it looks like you have better info, but the source seemed pretty confident,So if it's only 16000 sold they are going to have to go some to sell the expected 19000/20000................

Big woop, the only people that read the LET are dingles, there's probably more readers on here. As for the radio stations waste of money.

16k season tickets means lots of money lost and therefore there'll be no big tent signings like JAL seems to want

Its got to happen disgruntled, as I see the team or squad as it currently stands isnt strong enough for the coming season.

The best marketing would be if anyone who'd ever been on the database got something through their door. We're still waiting....

The marketing has been dismal. Despite the clubs unofficial mouthpiece proclaiming some weeks ago that EVERYONE has been sent packs - we are still waiting....

.... the only one to receive a pack, has already renewed. And did so at the end of May.

I think there are two aspects here we should consider, does anyone know what the sales were at the corresponding time last year??

We are hitting the holiday period and people may just be waiting until they get back and a few more 'Readies' available!!

secondly, one signing would make a world of difference, not just in season tickets but in shirt sales etc.

If that one signing captures the imagination of the supporters, then prepare for lift off!!

Do you know, a finished Ian Wright when he signed for Burnley, his wages were paid for by shirt sales alone!!

Beckham at Real made massive profits, we just need one who will lift both the club and supporters and if anyone can get them, I really believe Sam can.

Thats what the Marketing & PR team has told me - only passing on what they said. Some seem to of recieved whilst others havent, I dont know why that is! I was told that 20k packs were ready to be sent out to database people.

So, a Season Ticket holder without web access hasnt received a pack - but has now potentially lost their seat....

... how are they going to deal with that one.

The information should have been available from the instant the prices were announced - we SHOULD NOT be waiting for it 7 weeks later. Its a complete no brainer surely.

I agree its a no brainer yes, surely contact the club though? Its obvious the pack has gone missing?! - who hasnt received and not renewed anyway?

Disgruntled - Thats thier choice not mine - Im sure they will run their own marketing on the new home shirts etc...

It is a hypothetical question.

But if the sensitive market data you have been given and posted is correct then we are running at a non renewal rate of close to 7%. I find it hard to believe it would be so much higher than usual given the pricing structure.

The club should have, by now, contacted non renewals REPEATEDLY to remind them. I am aware the manager calls started last week, but packs and letters should have arrived.

As I said, I know of one non renewal who has, thus far, received the sum total of bugger all from the club. They arent renewing anyway but have not told the club that.

Maybe the club must have an inaccuraccy on his address or post code.

If he or she was going to renew they didnt really need a pack did they ? They knew the deadline date for renewing, seems a pretty weak excuse and after all, a seat is just a seat, there are plenty of others. Thank god i'm not on the front line desk in the clubs ticket office with complaints like that, the patience of a woman is definitely required. :)

As I said, its one example.

The very fact the story fits in with many other comments on here (Clare and Paul for example).

How did they know the deadline date for renewing?

My point is - the marketing on the best Season Ticket deal in the whole of the football league (and beyond) has been poor. We should be shouting from the rooftops and people who we already know follow Rovers are surely the easiest and cheapest people to target.

We all knew the deadline date for renewing, dont understand that one stuwilky are they from outer mongolia with no contact with the outside world.

Nearly every front page of the Lancashire Telegraph for the past god knows how many weeks has had season ticket prices printed. FRONT PAGE!

Surely you've got to set a budget on marketing the whole package to make it cost effective you only have to log onto the clubs website.

Personally I dont think they could do anymore except sign three more quality players before the season starts that will sell, stimulate interest and generate income.

I disagree about the deadline date - anyone who does not have web access (and there are still a hell of a lot of folks out there) and who hasnt received a pack is pretty high on the list of people who might not know the deadline. My concern (and hope?) is that the club are doing everything possible to convert the 1000 non renewals (as I said - over 7%, higher than some previous seasons apparently) into renewals. People are protective over their seat, any other seat may not be good enough for some (especially as areas of the ground are now sold out).

You have indeed got to set a budget, but as I have said - existing customers are far easier to retain than recruiting new ones, it is one of the holy grail of marketing.

Personally I dont think they could do anymore except sign three more quality players before the season starts that will sell, stimulate interest and generate income.

Sadly I think we will both be disappointed on that front.

I think the whole thing, yet again, has been badly organised in terms of marketing. I am also sure that plenty of people got everything they should have done. It isnt all bad, but from incomplete packs to complete no contact I am of the opinion that there are too many things that havnt gone right from day 1 - starting with them not having the application forms ready when they announced the pricing through all the above (and more).

But it is just that, my opinion. And we all have arseholes as well. It just is frustrating for me that we arent getting it right with the deals we have on offer.

I think I can answer this one for you JAL. In our house we do NOT:

1 Read the LET

2. Listen to any local radio, commercial or BBC

3. Take a daily paper

4. Access the Rovers web site on a regular basis

So if I wanted to be really dim I could sit back and wait for my renewal packs to arrive. I do read this site and knew about the renewal date and while I was prepared to wait to the last moment I wasn't going to risk losing our seats. Though it would have been an interesting discussion.

I couldn't renew online because the prices were wrong on our account. We did eventually receive the ST packs, after we had renewed, we have not had any confirmation of our renewal yet my eldest son, who did receive a pack, has had a hand written confirmation. There are other aspects to this which I could add but feel it best not to after speaking to the club.

My third boy, an ST holder, until two years ago did not receive any mailing for last season and hasn't received anything for this year. Now I realise there will be problems with any mass mailing but we all have the same surname, have consecutive customer numbers and have the same address registered with the club.

It's clear from my experience, stuwilky and cn174, that this has not been handled very well for some longstanding supporters, no matter what the unofficial club mouthpiece has to say about it.
