Real mixed messages about this one SG.

Almost all the season tickets in the cricket field stand have gone now, and I know one person when buying was told that they'll NOT be moved for any league match this season, be it Blackburn Rovers or Manchester United.

Read into that what you will.

That may very well be the view of Burnley FC, but as we all know the police will be the ones with the final say in this matter.

I think I can answer this one for you JAL. In our house we do NOT:

1 Read the LET

2. Listen to any local radio, commercial or BBC

3. Take a daily paper

4. Access the Rovers web site on a regular basis

We all knew the deadline date for renewing, dont understand that one stuwilky are they from outer mongolia with no contact with the outside world.

Nearly every front page of the Lancashire Telegraph for the past god knows how many weeks has had season ticket prices printed. FRONT PAGE!

Surely you've got to set a budget on marketing the whole package to make it cost effective you only have to log onto the clubs website.

Personally I dont think they could do anymore except sign three more quality players before the season starts that will sell, stimulate interest and generate income.

North Lancs may not be outer Mongolia but near enough as far as Rovers coverage is concerned.

Still waiting for any marketing from the club -

If you're an existing ST holder, did Mr allardyce not ring you with a gentle reminder that you only had a couple of days to renew? Or don't you have a phone either. He certainly rang most people I know. Not only that but my daughter, who hasn't had a season ticket ofr 2 or 3 years now has already been contacted about getting one.

Mr Allardyce has not been in touch - although I did mention I knew they had started last week.

No phone call,

BFS Probably got the 01524 mixed up with 01254.

In the days before phone messages, emails, the internet, direct marketing campaigns direct to the doormat, etc ... how on earth did people remember to renew their season tickets? In fact - how did anyone in Blackburn and beyond even know there was a football club there at all???

As I said, its one example.

The very fact the story fits in with many other comments on here (Clare and Paul for example).

How did they know the deadline date for renewing?

My point is - the marketing on the best Season Ticket deal in the whole of the football league (and beyond) has been poor. We should be shouting from the rooftops and people who we already know follow Rovers are surely the easiest and cheapest people to target.

What is wrong with people these days? I renewed at the earliest opportunity as did other who sit around me, why on earth do people sit and wait for everybody to rally round them and push them into action?

Ring the ticket office, go on the net, read the Telegraph, go to Ewood, the list goes on. I couldn't wait to renew, I can't get my head round how people have missed out.

Next-door neighbour is probably typical of many in that he goes to Ewood about 4 times a season.

He is on the Rovers database yet has never ever received mailshots / promotion material for season tickets and / or other offers.

Why not ?

I think it is pretty clear that the company that did the direct marketing totally messed it up. Wonder if it was sabotage?

At the end of the day, the Rovers marketing department is responsible for the performance of its sub-contractors.

Why are you asking us, Jim? If it concerns you, get on the phone to Rovers and ask them.

In any case, this issue needs bringing up at the next Fans Forum.

 Give up mate - you wont win.

Our prices have been in most daily papers, the house of commons, the rovers site, this site (which the people in question post on), bus stops, taxis, radio, local papers, phonecalls.

Its obvious however some packs havent reached some fans - blame the mailing company & contact the PR department - its that simple.

I find it bizarre how defensive people get on behalf of the club. Especially when i'd amazed if Tom Finn, or John Williams would admit not admit that it's a poor do that when they have come up with the best season ticket package in memory, Plenty of existing ST holders, let alone the thousands of fans who should be being targeted have not received any communication from the club.

Do these 'true fans' who can accept no criticism not realise that the reason most of those on here are annoyed is not because they are missing out but because they want to see the offer be as big a success as possible. It infuriates me, as it should the club, to hear stories of fans who have received no packs.

What did they do before the internet? Who cares what they did football is a different animal these days and this offer should have received the proper marketing that it deserves. Every single fan who bought a 3 for £20 offer should have been getting packs days after the last game.

Missing the point mum; the club should have been contacting everyone on their database with details of their "fantastic" season-tickets offers.

It's not that difficult, is it ?

Seems to me Rovers got the big idea right but have fallen down on the detail. Someone should get the chop.

100%

The frustration I feel that people have not got their packs is solely down to the fact I want to see a packed Ewood more than anything. How hard can it be to send out lets say 30000 info packs?

Not everyone lives in a Lancashire Telegraph area, not everyone is constantly on the internet, some people need a rocket up their ass to get moving.

The Monday morning after West Brom, EVERYBODY should have had a pack landing on their doorstep. Inside should have been a disclaimer stating that certian seats will not be avaliable until the 1st July to allow for existing season ticket holders to renew their seat. SIMPLE

Oh, you've renewed have you? Thanks for telling me. I had no idea next season was coming up. August eh? Why do they keep changing things?!

How hard can it be to buy a season ticket? Season ends. 10 weeks to buy a season ticket. Season starts. That middle bit, presumably the first few weeks is the time to act I reckon.

Having said that - if the Sales and Marketing people at Rovers are paying a Marketing company, as rumoured, to send the renewal packs out then I would suggest they stop as that marketing company would appear to be making a total pigs ear of it.

I must agree with that one. The messed up the original pack (that missed the leaflet with info on on), and then some people have still not receieved anything. People need to contact the club and check why they havent received anything....whether it be incorrect address, not on the database or the clubs own fault......

That is exactly the point I was alluding to, Jim, not missing it at all. Miss Roversmum is a 16-21 member and has heard nothing, and although I attend matches as Mr Roversmum's PA I don't have a season ticket as such and so usually receive correspondence. Now, someone is in control of the database and therefore is not doing his/her job properly, as there has always been contact before. As you mention, falling down on detail.

It should be easy with modern day databases to bring up different categories of fans etc (I have worked on them so claim knowledge!) in any case if fans of other clubs who presumably are on the database somewhere have been contacted by Rovers why has your neighbour not been sent anything. Therefore, the club needs to know that the mailings/database are not working as they should. Now this may be due to certain categories or a number of other reasons but still needs investigation and so your neighbour should ring up Rovers, to check if he is indeed on the database and if so let them know he has received no contact from them - that is if he wants to be included in mailings etc and at the same time he can check that his details are correct.

But reading this thread it is obvious he is not alone: there are hundreds maybe thousands more like him who have not been contacted. One person ringing to complain isn't going to make any difference.

The point is, the Rovers management should have had this sorted before the ticket offer was made public.

I am delighted to say that my dad and I have bought season tickets this morning for the Blackburn End Upper Tier. Bring on the new season!

Did you get seats together? Whereabouts? We were told there weren't any in the Blackburn End at all on Saturday so had to buy more expensive ones in the Jack Walker.

He said Blackburn End Upper, which hasn't yet sold out.
