Not having a go at the club here before anyone jumps on me.

I had a season ticket for 15 years but gave it up 5 years ago due to work commitments but still attend the games I can - usually 4 or 5 home games a season.

Since not renewing my ticket I have not recieved one season ticket pack in the 5 subsequent years - including this one. I know all about the deals on offer but does everyone who has bought a ticket for a game in the past? There must be supporters who have missed out on the info. Not everyone has access to internet or live locally to see advertising.

Maybe its my location as a reason that I don't get sent one but that shouldn't really matter as they know I travel from buying tickets in the past.

I will be buying a season ticket this year for the darwen end with my wife but will end up getting to only 7 or 8 of the games - still well worth it. For the remaining games a couple of friends will go instead, we're basically sharing the 2 tickets as none of us can commit to all 15 games.

I have no need to call the club to ask for my pack but missing out on supporters who are either undecided or not in the know seems a bit of a waste to me.

Mansfield - not sure if you have read the thread - but it appears that a number of 'old' fans havent got packs, and in some cases 'existing' ST holders havent either. We dont know the reasons why - whether it be a dodgy database or a dodgy mailing company - only the club knows that.

All we know is that 50k packs have gone out, and I assume the fact you live in Mansfield wont be the reason why you havent received a pack.

Just out of interest - when do you plan to buy your ST in the Darwen end??

Yes I've read the thread - sorry, wasn't trying to stir things up again just to point out I've never had one since giving up my ticket 5 years ago.

Its payday on the 20th so hopefully by early next week I'll have bought them. I, like so many others hopefully, didn't see the urgency in buying them for unreserved seats but want to get them sorted in the next week.

Hope you are right and there is an extra couple of thousand out there waiting......

From what I remember, there is usually a surge of at least 2,000 ST sales in the four weeks either side of the season starting. It could be people have bought early so the surge isn't as big but my guess is we will be at 19,000 ST holders by the start of September.

The club has a really big decision to make very soon about the Darwen End for the City game. Those tickets will have to go on sale very soon so if we don't want to see the bluemooners given the whole of the DE, an uptake in DE ST sales now is pretty essential in my opinion.

It's City for the whole of the Darwen end for the first match

Absolute ludicrous idea to give City the whole of the Darwen End, the first game of the season would have been a sell out anyway, It will also put people off buying a Darwen end season ticket as strtaight away you are going to miss the first game of the season and have to buy a ticket elsewhere in the ground.

I agree, but that's what the official board says

So the Darwen End ticket has just got better!!!

16 games for £150 quid now. Whats the odds that there's people on here who are STILL not happy!!!

You're right Ricky. The club should start advertising the ticket as £150 for 15 games in the Darwen End - with a free ticket for the City game. Might help them sell. They need to advertise this!

Feels like the club have been half hearted in thier attempts with the Darwen end. Sounds like some people at the club would rather not have home fans in the Darwen end

1, No promotional material handed to the 4,000 fans in the Darwen end on the last day of the season

2, Didn't announce the full details of match tickets until season tickets had been underway for some time

3, Didn't match expectations with price after fans had been left to speculate for so long

4, and now, throwing away the chance to 'upsell' season tickets to home fans wanting match tickets for what is a relativity attractive game.

Leaves me feeling really deflated, after the last three games of last season I don't want to feel like an away while at ewood again. Might give the City game a miss

as expected...the Club had little choice.

we had very poor DEnd ST sales and although these may, with a lot of luck, have picked up by 200 or 300.

City with their new signings are bound to sell the whole DEnd. We need to maximise our income from them, and this will also reduce the infiltration of many 100's of City fans who would have bought tickets in our home areas if we did not allow them the whole DEnd.

Congrats to John Williams and his team for having the balls to make this decision.

You re totally wrong MattyM, it would nt have been a sell out , check previous seasons and look at sales for the first game, many people are on holiday still

Also DE season tickets now get 16 games for £150 so its s fantsatic deal , the club had no option, its scandalous we have only sold 200

sounds to me like the club are offering a free ticket to the first X people who but a DE ST..

the problem is 90% of the people who got the 3 for £20 last season will either be on the dole/income support or people who just cannot afford to go to games when tickets are priced normally.. so this 90% of people can never afford £16.50 a month (with the £15 dd fee added on of course) and what the best that £20 actually turned into £60 or even £80 after travel, beer, food ext ext

where it is a excelent idea from the club, they seem to be aiming it at the wrong people

You want to try walking back towards Darwen when there are 8,000 mancunians urinating up against walls etc etc. I have had season ticket since I left school nearly 20 years now, since I moved to Darwen i have considered packing it in after almost every season, I was hopeing that next year might be different, but it doesn't look like it will.

Go and have a beer in the Fox, Ewood Arms or Blues bar after the game then have a leisurely walk home a couple of hours later.

You seriously think about jacking your season ticket in because there's lots of away fans around?

Well I for one will be looking forward to receiving my FREE ticket for the Man City game - a great gesture by the club.

@ Bob the Builder, so you would REALLY give up your season ticket of 20+ years becasue of the away fans at 3 or 4 home games?

But, as an extra incentive, any Rovers fans taking up a WEC Darwen End season ticket will receive a complimentary ticket for the eagerly-awaited City game, in an alternative area of the stadium (subject to availability).

Now thats another great deal by the club!!!

And for the fan's who will sit at home and wait for the club to drop the free ticket off, I assume subject to availability means get off your backside and get yours now!!!!

I was told about this the other day but I had to sit on it - looks like the club choose the official announcement over this board this time ha ha. (Stuwilky).

Anyway its now 16 for £150, with the remaining 3 (Dingles, Liverpool & United) for £75 if you buy all 3? So a season ticket for the whole season will cost you just £225, with un-reserved seating.
