I understood peoples reticience to buy DE tickets until just before the start of the season (pointless shelling out until you have to) - but now they have City tickets as part of the package which are subject to availability - I am amazed that people aren't snapping up the tickets asap to guarantee tickets for the first match of the season free.

£150 for 15 matches - with a complimentary £33 ticket thrown in for the first match - its absolute madness that people aren't snapping these up. I am hoping it is a sign of the holiday season - rather than our rather poor support (taking to one side catchment area problems etc etc etc).

I think its a combination of the holiday season and festival season for some people like myself. Just got back from travelling europe and really want to go to leeds festival which at the moment is looking unlikely. I saw on the website that you can buy some tickets with a direct debit scheme, do they have this for the darwen end?

having just checked alll the dates I would only be able to make 5 out of the first nine matches, think i'll purchase a half season ticket midway through the season, i'll have much more money then as well.

5 matches at even £20 a match will cost you £100. For another £50 you can have a full season ticket! Do the sums and get the season ticket on the direct debit system.

seeing as its £29 for walk ons in the darwen end and £22 for the jw wings a full season ticket pays for itself in 8 games, so out of the first 5 you only need to attend 3 more games in the season for it to of been worth your while, and it works out at £16.50 a month for the ticket on dd

Lets not forget - a free City ticket - which is £35 !

yeah i'm gonna do it, i'll print off the application form at work tomorrow, it is really good value. cheers guys

has anyone sat in the fraser eagle stand before, is it a good view/atmosphere?

Yeah i sit there, the atmosphere has got better in there over the last couple of seasons. The seats that are still available probably wont be a good view as there are only about 150 left and they will be the resticted views I would imagine.

providing you can get a seat that doesnt have one of them bloody posts in the way it has a pretty good view (the online planner shows the seats with a restricted view) in my experiences in the riverside iv found it to be fairly good for the atmosphere BUT imo i find the BBE to be better

i didn't notice that there were seats in the blackburn end upper, think i'm gonna get one there. This season will be my first attending ewood since i started supporting them in 92, fair play to the club for making it affordable to everyone.

That right there is the beauty of this season. Fans that would normally feel priced out, doing the math and taking the leap to a full season ticket for a little more then the 5 games originally planned on.

Good on ya waynerovers, even if you can't make it to any extra games over the 5 you planned, maybe you can sell em to some buddies or give em away to covert some fans! Though I do hope you get to all the matches.

So basically the DE lower left (as looked at from the BBE) will have around 20% of season ticket holders in, and a few walk ons most weeks.

Which is exactly he same as about 2005~ish. But for a lot less money. We really are taking back Ewood!

That's my fear too. DE was impressive at the end of last season when it was full of Rovers fans but its going to look pretty miserable if we dont sell a lot more ST's. Will there be many walk-ons this season at the prices being quoted?

i agree there AR, anyone who attends 7 games or more should buy a season ticket, it really does pay for itself, and i think once those 7/8 games a season fans have a season ticket they will end up attending more games as finding the cash for it wont be a problem and with the direct debit being only £24.90 a month (for BBE) it saves people having to shell out £40-£70 a month for tickets

EDIT: fixed a few spelling mistakes

Blackburn end upper is the family stand. You are ok to buy a ticket in there if you are under 16 otherwise you might be better off going for the darwen end.

I rang the ticket office about the bbe upper and they would only sell me a ticket there if I bought a childs ticket as well.

It was...but those 4500 fans who took up the £20 option havent made that happen, which is a shame.

The club would be daft not to consider selling 2500 extra tickets for £35+ a tickets for those that can sell them.

Maybe a lot of those 4500 who took up the £20 offer last season are the 4000 new ST holders in other parts of the ground??

Have we not increased ST sales from 14k to around the 18k mark??

Every cloud has a silver lining.....We`ll be able to put our feet up, spread out, sit where we want & won`t be queueing for our beer & pies in the DE next season!!!:lol:

Do Rovers offer a waiters service per chance??....so we don`t miss any of the match ;)

From the Onerovers web site laying out terms and conditions for buying in the Blackburn End Upper:

FAMILY STAND: There is a minimum purchase of 1 Adult/Senior + 1 Junior.

No more than 2 Adults/Seniors can be purchased with any 1 Junior.

It's weird this. For the last three home games during the £20 offer we had around 23k - 25k home supporters on.

We currently have 18k season ticket holders which may just about reach 19k in a few weeks. So, to get up to last season's fantastic final-three-game-level, we will need up to 6k 'walk ons.'

The breakdown for the final game against WBA must have been - 14k season ticket holders, 4k £20 offer in Darwen End, 7k walk ons, 3k away fans = 28k attendance.

I think that most of last season's walk ons will have bought season tickets (currently up by 4-5k) and therefore our home support has remained fairly constant, albeit everyone is tied in to a season ticket.

The question then is, will we get 6k walk ons bearing in mind last season's walk ons are now accounted for as season ticket holders?

The decision to attempt to tie fans to season tickets by greatly reducing the cost was aimed at increasing attendances of course but was also aimed at increasing revenue from away fans. Since the overall home support seems not to be vastly different its in the area of profit from away fans that gains will be made. There just won't be large numbers of home fan walk-ons if the cost of a single ticket is 29 quid instead of 10 or 7 for the last 3 home games.Sadly looks like home attendances won't change.
