With a 14K to 18K jump in ST sales by the beginning of August and a dingles derby thrown in this season, the average gate is absolutely certain to leap by at least 2,000 to 3,000.

As I am going to be travelling, I am wondering what is going to be best thing to do for getting to see the City game as that is bound to be a complete sell out. 8,000 Blue Mooners, 18,000 ST holders already equals only 4,300 seats left and the game is 13 days away.

Can I risk it until I am back in the UK 11 August? Quite probably not.

There just won't be large numbers of home fan walk-ons if the cost of a single ticket is 29 quid instead of 10 or 7 for the last 3 home games.Sadly looks like home attendances won't change.

Yep,thats the rub here, tickets up to £35 in the BBE lower and upper for the category A games.....I thought we had seen the last of those prices at Ewood?

The trick is to make sure that there arent a right lot of those available....

But its now clear we wont sell more than 20,000 ST stuwilky. With the Riverside,BBE and Jack Walker stands our home fans capacity for the Cat A games stands at around 22,500 roughly.

Can we shift 3,000 or so tickets at £28- £35?....going off previous seasons I think you know what the answer to that is

The decision to attempt to tie fans to season tickets by greatly reducing the cost was aimed at increasing attendances of course but was also aimed at increasing revenue from away fans.

Can't see that there was any attempt to increase revenue from away fans. If anything, the opposite. Had the season ticket offer been an overwhelming success, the lower tier of the Darwen End would have been full of Rovers fans, limiting the away fans allocation to just 3k max, other than the 'big four.' Therefore away fans revenue would be down overall.

The way things stand, however, the away fans may now find their allocation jumping from 3k to 5.5k but that would not have been the original intention.

The season ticket offer has been a success, by the way, just not an overwhelming one. I think that, with our walk ons, home support will increase by a couple of thousand over last season as will our overall season average.

As I understand it, a club can't charge away fans more than it charges home fans for the same accomodation. In theory, home fans at the darwen End pay 29 quid for Cat B games and more for Cat A. Therefore away fans can be charged the same. Rovers hoped to reduce the impact on home fans via cheap season tickets. As of now, not enough have been sold for the Darwen End to make it a success. Is that a correct analysis?

Season Ticket prices don't factor in individual match pricing.

Had not all BBE seats been sold, the walk-on price would have been £35 for Cat A games- the same as Darwen End for visitors.

I keep forecasting there will be a serious kick in Darwen End ST sales between now and West Ham arriving 29 August which will be the first "take back Ewood" game of the new season.

Furthermore, with regards to walk-ons, we are a Premier League club and all sorts of people walk-on to our matches from all over. Therefore, the walk-on figure is unlikely to dip below 2,000 irrespective of ST sales. I agree an average "home" walk-on of around about 5,000 which is what happened last season is likely to be lowered this season but for sure it is going to be more like 3,000 than zero.

However, with the ST prices being so low, we can expect the number of ST no shows this season to be proportionately much higher as many people who only attend about 50% of games have decided to take the ST plunge.

Put it altogether with some attractive timings on big games this season compared with last year at Ewood, I reckon an increase of at least 2,000 on the average gate is already locked in- probably 3,000.

There isnt a right lot of tickets available in the BBE at all.

The BBE is the comparator for away fans matchday prices.

A "bundle" of tickets in the Darren End is not, nor is a special offer in the JW stand.

Im a tad disappointed with sales overall, but lets see what happens to walk on's. My concern is the amount of people with ST's who only plan on coming to 10/12 matches.

am i panicking fpr no reason? my season ticket has not arrived yet.

No reason whatsoever, they only started landing on doorsteps in the last day or two.

As somebody who has taken the ST plunge this year - even though other commitments prevent me from attending every match - I have to agree with you.

At £35 for a Cat A match - they soon pay for themselves. Especially the DE - £150 + £35 City ticket is an absolute steal.

has anyone sat in the fraser eagle stand before, is it a good view/atmosphere?

If I've influenced your decision in any small way it has made my day. Welcome to the real supporters club!

But surely the people who are only attending 12 or so matches will give their seson tickets to friends for the other games.

TBH it's not always that easy to find people who want to go. Virtually everyone I know, who supports Rovers, either has an ST or doesn't go.

Talked to Stu last season about an idea to get the board behind a shared season ticket thread or something where people can share STs for matches they aren't going to. Have decided that one of my goals while living here is to visit more towns/cities, so will probably be going to more away matches instead of home. Not getting the ST myself, now (not having applications at the West Brom match and being late with sending out the packs gave me time to think on it). Will probably go up for a handful of matches (have planned my Holiday around the Burnley home match and already have a room at the Fernhurst, as an example), so if anyone does have extra tickets feel free to shoot me a PM.

Very good idea.

Unfortunately the Premier is now the London and Lancashire League with three trips to Brum, a visit to Stoke which is either a particularly nasty Manchester suburb or a service station on the M6 and a safari to Wear Estruary in the far north east where they call you hinnie if you are lucky, all thrown in for added fun.

Oh and there is Pompey for which an innoculation, anti-hand bell ear muffs and a tolerance to unpleasant sea breezes are all pre-requistes.

And I forgot Hull which contrary to all common beliefs is actually a really lovely place and well worth a very long week-end if you are willing to venture out to places like Beverley, Cherry Burton and take in the fine museums in the city itself.

Definitely have Hull and Portsmouth on the list of must go's this season. Will try to do a weekend with both. Birmingham is a pretty good day trip, Stoke and Liverpool sound the same and I have 3 London grounds I haven't been to yet. Add in some European weekends and just some relaxing weekends around the house and it makes for a pretty good year.

Even spending a day in Malta this October.

End of 'Blackburn Fortnight' today. Hopefull this week, people will be back from holidays and will start to buy those remaining tickets.

Would love to see the DE lower tier as it was for those last three games. Ever the optimist!

Yep, time for you stragglers to pull your fingers out and get those ST bought!

If I was buying a ST for the DE, I'd be waiting until the last week in August before coughing up.

Don't forget the second home game ( first for the ST) is August 29.

Plenty time to sell another thousand or so. :D
