I think the city poster was referring to a home fans stand rather than the away end.

tis true though - a bit concerning IF a member of the ticket office staff has sold tickets to a city fan. Lets just hope the stewards will be doing their job and and city fans found in the home areas will be made to leave.

The stewards would chuck out any home fans displaying "threatening behvaiour" no doubt.

away fans have always infiltrated home ends at ewood, for as long as i can remember.

most recently, a city fan got a hammering last december, he was celebrating the last gasp equaliser - in the riverside.

the stewards and police failed to spot him being slapped about and tumbling down 5 or 6 rows of seats. served him right i supose.

it amazed me why he chose to sit in our end, when there were thousands of empty seats in the away end.

there is always infiltration

when we beat them in the 6th round of the FA cup a few years back lots of people near me in the JW upper did nt celebrate when Derbs got the 2nd goal, they just sat glumly and then stood up and left

I've sat in the home sections at Liverpool and villa, guess it's just a case of keeping your mouth shut and showing a bit of respect. It's not easy keeping quiet when your strikers just banged in his third goal though (Sutton at villa park)

That won`t happen. I cannot remember seeing any fans being ejected from Ewood, unless fighting has broken out first. The stewards will monitor the situation, but at the end of the day they`ll sit on their hands & do nowt.

I've done it a lot in the past when you go with mates etc. I celebrate the goals but don't go OTT.

I brought my Gunner mate to the Arsenal home game he must have been the only man smiling in the JW.

My season ticket arrived this morning which is very exciting!

Begin to feel a bit disappointed at missing the first game of the season although I'm thinking a 5 star castle in Turkey will help me get over it!!!

I know you have your tongue firmly in your cheek, so can you tell us what you feel about all this money? Realistically the last time City could be described as a big club was in the Mercer - Allison era, and even though you have lots of cash City don't qualify for big club status yet. So is this good or bad news?

I blame the parents ;)

Yes, it's definitely my dad's fault... I remember cursing him a little when Rovers won the league that I couldn't celebrate it as a true fan, even though they're my 2nd club. At the time City looked like giving me nothing but a lifetime of misery.

A few City fans are saying that we're already turning into everything we always hated about United fans. Money changes people doesn't it? For me, I'm just happy that I'm going to be seeing some top quality footballers play in the blue shirt. I'm excited to be linked with anyone and everyone. I'm even more excited to go into a season with genuine prospects of competing for silverware. I don't really care where we come in other people's 'big club' league table. Other clubs have earned the right to brag about their history. We've done very little for 40 years, as you say and I'm not surprised some of us are getting a bit giddy about what might happen now. I think our finishing position could be anywhere from 1st to 12th, but probably 5th or 6th.

On the issue of City fans getting a Rovers season ticket on DD then cancelling straight away I must say the thought had occurred to me - not to do it myself (I already have a ticket in the City end)...but to suggest to others as an idea. I do post on Bluemoon, but I thought better of it when I realised it wasn't the wisest thing to suggest on a public forum. Certainly dishonest, and maybe illegal, I don't know. Then again, someone who is prepared to put in that much effort to go to one game probably deserves to get in somehow.

a very level headed post ... until the last sentence. "A few City fans are saying that we're already turning into everything we always hated about United fans", I doubt many of your lot will worry about that when they have 8 cans of Carling (other beers are available) inside them and are walking round like they own the place :rover:

I was just about to warn you all. Those who's season ticket is the same seat and same status (young adult in my example) as last season, will not get a new card and can just use the same one. So don't be shredding them just yet!

I don't know about you but I admire fans who are so desperate to get into a game that they will blag a ticket in the wrong end, as long as they are prepared to keep their mouth shut and respect where they are. I've done it a few times when I couldn't get a ticket in the City end, including Old Trafford. I even stood up and tried to look pleased when they scored. Imagine doing that at Turf Moor.

I'm sure all clubs have fans who drink alcohol before football games, and have a percentage who act like knobs. We'll have 7,000 here and a bit of a party atmosphere I think. I'll probably have about 5 pints of Carling in me at kick-off time but I'm a grown-up. I'll be behaving myself.

I think many on here Joe are still 'scarred' by the infamous 2001 City promotion game at Ewood.I too dont think there's any harm with the odd away fan in home areas so long, and as you say, they are respectful of where they are and dont take the pish.

The only real area where infiltration by City fans could happen is in the JW stand anyway with both the BBE and Riverside are both sold out virtually.

Rovers are taking back Ewood - City fans will be ejected from home areas !

...and anyone who buys a seat which is found to be occupied by a City fan should be banned, and the scumbag who works at Rovers sacked, he probably took a back hander too <_<
