Doubt we have sold that many - last official figure I got was the 18k one last week, from what I was being told, we were at about 18,600 on monday this week - Still awaiting something official but cant see 19,900 being true.

See if you confirm the empty rows in the JWLT and RS, and possible the reserved seating in the JWUT (sponsors& Kids)

Can we add 'City fan paying DD and will cancel after Aug 15th' to the poll?

Might get season ticket sales back down to previous years totals! :D

Buy seriously, have we really sold nearly 20,000? I bet that hasn't happened since the late 90s, maybe even since 1995/96?

Telegraph reported 19,000 was recorded 95/96

Think I'll be outdone by the bloke (he's on the official boards) from Switzerland who gets to most home games  or the bloke who was on airline and came over from Germany a a few years ago.

I'll probably only get to 6/7 games a season but it's worth it given the price and I happen to know of a fair few Irish fans who have bought them this season :tu: Personally I'm glad I did buy mine now as the tickets for the Dingles game look like they'll be hard enough to get, I'm on standby to buy a lad from Dundalk and extra one or two for his mate

Some trek from Lifford...I presume you go from Derry?

Exactly my thinking for this season. 3rd season as a ST holder and in the first year I did the trek from Belfast on the plane. (2nd year from London) Up at 6am Sat morning and back in Belfast by 930 most times for a night on the rip. Think the worst I did was getting a free ticket for Newcastle away and finding £2 return flights from Dublin. Up at 2am Sat and back 3am Sunday...bloody tiring but worth it for Mattys goal in the 93rd minute.

Looking forward to it again this year :D

Naturally I was referring to the ST ;)

I quite liked playing Newcastle though. We always somehow managed to beat them home and away in recent years an couldn't understand the delight when they went down. An easy 3 points and a packed Ewood!

Yep, Derry to Liverpool is the easiest and cheapest way of doing it, the bus ride to and from Dublin is a killer :o

Ryanair have £1 fares from Derry to Liverpool at the moment - well until midnight tomorrow!!

Not when you need them unfortunately <_<

I never have to pay much more than £50 return which isn't too bad in fairness, free travel and lodgings at the girlfriends helps ^_^

I must say, I'm bloody impressed with the amount of tickets shifted, assuming these figures are all spot on.

There should be NO gate lower than 20,000 this season, and that hasn't happened in YEARS.

Considering the amount teams geographically close to us, combined with the big Brummie clubs who have come up, I can only think of games like Pompey and Hull which will be low 20,000 gates, and with a bit of luck our overall average will be somewhere between 23,000 and 26,000.

and what a great time to push the boat out and bring in a bit more real quality. The fans are backing the club, give them something to enjoy - don't lose them all after one season.

What a bad time to put in a bad season.

Think we've got the right man at the helm to keep the fans drooling, they'll be knocking down the Walkersteel in 9 months.

Averages from last year: (Wigan's is worrying)

Blackburn Rovers, 23,299 07/08 - 23,943

Bolton Wanderers, 22,644 07/08 - 20,901

Wigan Athletic, 17,793 - 07/08 - 19,046

We should increase our average attendance......

Now if we get 19k ST holders, and the away fans id expect (see below) + 1000 walk on fans for each (which we should beat, especially for Burnley, Liverpool, United etc) - then the average is at 23,500

Away fans -Full top tier Everton, Bolton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Hull, Stoke, Wolves, Tottenham, Sunderland, West Ham, Villa

Full allocation - Burnley, United, City, Liverpool

3500 ticket sales total - Wigan, Fulham, Pompey & Brum

That's assuming season ticket holders turn up for every game or pass the ticket onto a mate if they don't. They might or they might not. We've had fans on here saying they're buying a ticket because they can make 7 games or so and its cheaper.

You're certainly right about that Den. If Rovers fans can't make an extra effort to respond to the magnificent offer that Rovers have made to them, then there really is reason for the Rovers board to ask "what's the use of us bothering?"I do understand that there is a recession and there will be a number of people that however willing simply cannot afford to go to football at virtually any price, but these unfortunate people are probably only a very small percentage of regular or past supporters, and the majority of people that actually see themselves as true Rovers fans probably can afford the ticket even if it means a couple of pints and packets of fags less per week.

The way I look at it for myself is that only 5 matches means I am in profit compared to the walk-on price I normally pay. Then if you add my travel and subsistence costs from Fife, I would still have those anyway, and I have until the last 2 years managed at least 5 matches per season. So for me it is a goer, and for anyone living local it is a no-brainer.

That has always been my point.

How many people have been winging about this over a pint and a fag? Lots. They were doing exactly that in the beer garden of the Fox last night.

1 packet of fags or 2 pints less per week will buy you a season ticket in the Premiership.
