After 100+ pages of speculation, I can now provide some facts, as given to the Fans Forum last night.

The club had sold virtually 18,000 season tickets as of yesterday, which the club are delighted with. They are obviously hoping some more will go this week. This represents an increase of almost 30% over last year's total of 14,000, which included half season tickets as well. It also takes account of 1,500 season ticket holders from last year who have not renewed. This is consistent with turnover in previous years - people give up tickets for all sorts of reasons unconnected to price - death, illness, moving away, job commitments, Waggy, etc. This means that the club has 5,500 new season ticket holders this season. This is against a background of a deep recesssion and nearly all other Premier League clubs having reduced sales. It has been successful enough for the Premier League to be talking to Rovers about how they did it.

800 tickets have been sold in the Darwen End and this should hopefully increase over next few weeks - always some people buy after the first or even second home game. One third of those that bought "Crucial 3" tickets at the end of last season have bought season tickets, which is also better than the club expected. Note this is based on 1,800 people, as this was all the data the club had - many people bought multiple tickets and the club only has data on the purchaser.

o2g: thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Rovers almost reaching 18,000 is fairly good news although I expect that the Board, and many on here, will be somewhat disapointed although I am sure that the public statements will "talk the figures up", and why not.

I suspect that many of the occasional walk on fans will have taken up ST's which hopefully will mean that they will attend more games.

What is absolutely key is that the Club play good football; after 3 years or so of the utter garbage served up by BRFC we need to keep the fans by a little more entertainment compared with the dross of recent years although we need to balance this with survival.

now i am panicking. tuesday morning, the postman has been and gone and i still have not got my season ticket!!

I wouldn't worry about that too much - that happened to me a few years ago when we played Fulham first game at home. I was told just to go to to Matchday collection point and there was a complimentary for my seat waiting for me.

I do not want to be ar**d queueing up for a replacment ticket on Saturday, my Saturday morning is already full and I can't get to the ground until 2.30+.

Also I do will be away from the Monday and need to loan my ST cards to someone as as I will miss the West Ham game. I am on hols and then return to go staright to Wembley for the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final which clashes with the West Ham game.

Why are Rovers always last minute...I want JW to deliver my ticket personally, and provide me with a free pie and pint for the Citeh game.

every fecking year tis the same

season tickets are posted out TOO late

people have paid good money, mnay for the first time and shouldn't have to mess about ringing up the club because the club have cut it to fine sending them out. Its not like people will whack their tickets on ebay if they're sent out too soon (like music festivals), as soon as someone buys one they should recieve it asap

Are we not just using the same cards we've had for the last two years? I thought only people who had moved or were new were getting cards. Obviously if everyone posting has done then ignore me but it seemed a lot of people.

Yes we are, but there are 5,500 new season ticket holders and then everyone who has moved seats as well so there will be a lot.

All those of us who had tickets last year and haven't moved seats will get a fixture list in the post but clearly that will be a lower priority than sending new tickets out. If anyone is in any doubt I can confirm that we are at home to Man City on Saturday at 3.00 <_<

It doesn`t really matter to me if i get my ST this week or not, as we`ve got the free complimentary tickets for the City game.

As long as i get it before the 2nd home game.

Just out of curiosity  has anybody with a Darwen End ST got their card yet?? Or will they be the last to get them (due to the city game & complimentarys) ??

How do you get a ticket for the city game? I have a Darwen end season ticket and I have no idea where to get the Man city ticket from?!

I should check the web site more often! Can you get them on the day of the game or is that a dumb idea?

(Shakes head) I think you'll have to ring them up.

All Darwen End ST holders are 'eligible' to claim a free complimentary ticket for the city game.....as a gesture of good will by the club.

These tickets are on an 'availability basis'.....so you need to get your arse down to Ewood & see if there`s any left.

The club sent letters out to DE ST holders explaining this. Did you not recieve one??

There`s very little chance of getting one on the day....due to city fans wanting to infiltrate home ends

First day of the season >>>>> Christmas Day.

It's not mate, we haven't played on Christmas Day for years...

For anyone who hasn't thought of getting a season ticket this year, now is the time to act. I know the club have tried to keep it quiet but I've just seen an advert on Sky. The new season starts this Saturday. What a shambles.

Thanks for the sarcasm Doogs :)

It's not like they put any info with the season ticket, I work the same hours as the ticket office is open so calling is a pain in the arse but I'll try that. Plus I live in Lancaster, Blackburn is a good half hour drive.

Edit: you guys got info with yours? Fix!! Hehe. Well there's always the internet if I can't get one (you didn't hear that from me)
