JAL Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 That's a bit out of order, it does have some credibility in the local area. Yes, see what you mean splitscreen, it is demeaning to the quality lads in the combination to be linked with tosspots from Newcastles first team.

Guest benmaxwell Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Hope Nicko hasn't forgotten his 11 o'clocker...
Fraserkirky Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Quite the Audience! You have 60 folk waiting on you Nicko, hope this is good.......
nicko Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Patience should always be rewarded... The Rovers target is Renato Civelli at Marseille, big Argie right-side defender. Free in summer and Sam is into it in a big way. Been linked before but this one is right - big chance happening. Ooijer's replacement and also probably clearing the way for Zurab to go - probably to Galatasaray...thanks to the usual top helper for that part of the equation. Now for the Coylistas. The Great Man could have taken FIVE times his dough and joined Celtic. But he has turned them down. Shock to me, I must say. He becomes more of a legend by the day. Celtic are not giving up - but personal terms are not the issue. Spending power is...and that is NO joke. No questions please - hope that is enough. Up since 5, long day, puffed.
Backroom Tom Posted May 27, 2009 Backroom Posted May 27, 2009 Wow fair play to Coyle, he must just love Lancashire life
Hughesy Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 So a solid left back (who can cover the centre too), a solid right back - if Zurab went aswell as Ooijer then I think that signals that Warnock is staying too. All of a sudden our defence looks alot more solid. Emerton goes back to midfield. Next we need to get rid of Roque and concentrate on midfield & strikers.
joey_big_nose Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 everyone else google'ing "Renato Civelli"? Wow. He's massive! 6 foot 4". We were linked by fans FC I think about a week ago. Shows they do know something. Over to Eddie. What is he like? As good as Gael?
LeChuck Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Bit concerned that Renato Civelli appears to be a centre back who can fill in at right back. I know that's exactly what Ooijer was but I was hoping we'd get a specialist right back instead.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 6'4! Yikes. According to his Wikipedia page (I know, I know) he's a specialist right back who has recently found himself playing at centre back and doing pretty well. Sam is probably drooling over the thought of him and Samba as a pairing.
RoverRich Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 As a big guy of 6ft 4 he will be another useful player for Sam's set pieces. Hopefully a decent signing. If we can raid Marseille for him, Givet and M'Bami I would be happy.
G Somerset Rover Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 We've been linked to Civelli for the past week or so. By the sounds he could be a useful squad man at the very least. Bit of a shame to see that Zura is probably off - but to be fair to him he's put up with being a bit part player for some time now.
roverseas Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Haha I hope he's good at defending. Can imagine us being a proper threat with him, Samba and possibly a new target man to aim for on set pieces. Would be killer. Haven't heard of him though so I'm not expecting much.
BuckyRover Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 In Football Manager he is a centre back who can play (unconvincingly) at right back. I think he will be good addition nevertheless.
67splitscreen Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Is this not the fellow Civelli, that was keeping the other RB out of the OM team last season, when the scouts went to watch him under PI.
Hughesy Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Renato Civelli Only 25 years old so a potential profit in the future on him too. Since Feb 09 he has played at centre back to cover for the injured Julien Rodriguez
LeChuck Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 According to his Wikipedia page (I know, I know) he's a specialist right back who has recently found himself playing at centre back and doing pretty well. You're right...I totally misread the bit about filling in at centre back. I actually I'm not even sure I misread it, just somehow managed to misunderstand it. Can't see him being great going forward (on the ground at least) being 6'4 though.
Backroom Tom Posted May 27, 2009 Backroom Posted May 27, 2009 Could be decent business on a free and may suggest Emo may be moved to a CM position sometimes, he does a good job there imo.
RevidgeBlue Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Losing track here. Is he the "good one" Nicko referred to ages ago (who we thought was a striker) or a separate target entirely?
Guest benmaxwell Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Roque has again said that his comments were lost in translation. He does not mind staying at Rovers yada yada yada: http://uk.reuters.com/article/footballNews...27?rpc=401&
