sparky12 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I'd have sold him too. Lets be completely honest he has hardly set the world alight since has he? top scorer for us this season... so where would we be without him !!!!

Shabani Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 i hope this mystery striker isnt Robbie Earnshaw, im sure he was mentioned in the same sentence as Burnley a while back...
patrickvalery Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 top scorer for us this season... so where would we be without him !!!! It doesn't really work that way. Thats like saying where would we have been if Robinson hadn't been playing? You assume you would find a suitable replacement. Ok Benni was top goal scorer this season. But it wasn't a remarkable feat. I can't be bothered to find out how many he scored, but i know if we'd have sold him we could have replaced him with someone who would have scored equally if not more than he has.
T4E Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 i hope this mystery striker isnt Robbie Earnshaw, im sure he was mentioned in the same sentence as Burnley a while back... Dont worry, its not.
joey_big_nose Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 according to reports Liverpool may be letting go of Ryan Babel in the summer, he would be a great signing for us, but could be out of our price range!!, he would improve the team greatly with his speed and skill and he also pops up with some vital goals. Also i see Sidwell at Villa has struggle to cement a place in their starting 11, he could be a great replacement for Tuggs, but i think that depends if Barry departs or not!!! Babel would be precisely the sort of player we could use, and maybe could be tempted to stay in the North West. And the usual suspects who pick up those sorts of "Big Four throwoffs" like Spurs, Pompey, Man City and Newcastle all have either too many right wingers already or too many problems. No idea how we would afford the transfer fee though.... (NB: Interestingly there are going to be a lot of right wingers of quality generally on the market: Guitterez, Tuncay, Bentley, Babel, Pennant - plus already quite a few in the Prem already: Valencia, SWP, Lennon, Ireland/Robinho, Young, Milner etc. It means that it may not be so difficult to find a bargain.) Sidwell is okay. but isn't he on wacky wages for a standard sort of player?
patrickvalery Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Dont worry, its not. I don't like these secrets between us all. If i don't find out soon i'm in danger of stamping my feet REALLY hard.
Guest benmaxwell Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Babel would be a quality signing, however i fear Liverpool will want far in excess of the £3.5 million they paid for him...
Gally Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Babel has said he's going to stay at Anfield, I think £3.5 million that was quoted somewhere was very optimistic anyway.
Shabani Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Supposedley we are interested in Andranik Teymourian http://www.persianfootball.com/index.php?o...19&Itemid=2
Bobby G Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Not good enough to make us better. At best a squad player. Teymourian I mean. I wouldnt waste any money on him. He was a hot talent in Iran a couple of years ago, but needs to get settled with a run of games again.
Shabani Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 another link this time Stephene Mbia http://www.eatsleepsport.com/blackburn-rov...ble-905751.html
RibbleValleyRover Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I see Southampton are in dire trouble again: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/8072132.stm Isn't there some highly rated youngsters there that might be up for grabs? Lallana?
Gally Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Are the Quotes from the Marseille director out of date? because it seems we can get him on a free this transfer window.
Plastic Head Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Babel would be a quality signing, however i fear Liverpool will want far in excess of the £3.5 million they paid for him... Try £11.5M they paid.
Guest benmaxwell Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Try £11.5M they paid. I'm only refering to what someone else said earlier...
andyroversmad Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 So what kind of fee are we gonna get for Zurab ? Has that Greek right back joined another club or does sam prefer to have this argie right back ?
budha Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Are the Quotes from the Marseille director out of date? because it seems we can get him on a free this transfer window. Rennes chief. M'Bami and M'Bia are 2 different players; M'Bami is the free transfer from Marseille and M'Bia is the 6 million poundish midfielder from Rennes, who has had a longer queue of teams interested.
M2XLY Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Wonder if the myster striker could be someone like Totti? not sure he was liked with at turf tho!
Iceman Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Are the Quotes from the Marseille director out of date? because it seems we can get him on a free this transfer window. Its says Rennes, not Marseille. Modese Mbami, plays for Marseille and is the one on a free at the end of the season. Mbia is at Rennes, and will need a fee to be paid. I know, can be confusing the 2.
blue/white Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 What a great way to describe your player - “Moving to England attracts him and Blackburn are apparently interested in his profile – a sentinel in front of the defence, with an athletic impact." There's an agent earning his money. But this 'profile' fits Aaron Mokoena.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 But this 'profile' fits Aaron Mokoena. That's exactly what I thought.
Eddie Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I'll do a quick check, know an agent who handles most of the good french-african players so this may well be one of his.
67splitscreen Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 stands and keeps watch, just what we need sign him on.
Iceman Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 This might be a little far fetched, but if he hasnt retired or something, then i wonder if Enrico Chiesa might be worth a go. How old is he btw, not heard about him in ages. Is he playing still, and if so how is his form?
