joey_big_nose Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Bit depressed about this bit of the LT piece: "But while he would get a proportion of any Santa Cruz transfer fee, a chunk of it would be demanded by the bank to pay off some debts, meaning Allardyce might have to shift his plans for the money he had set aside elsewhere." same old same old!

budha Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I hope the "demanded by the bank" -part doesn't mean that we don't want to sell RSC because we'd have to give the bank it's share.
Shabani Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 If i won some money and the bank came round asking for early payment of debt, i'd tell them to f*** off!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 He is not. Was he before, then? Something about Wolves, maybe?
DanLad Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 If i won some money and the bank came round asking for early payment of debt, i'd tell them to f*** off! Most teams operate in their overdraft. The money comes in and the bank reduces the overdraft limit. That's how they recoup the debt. We should just make sure we get paid in cash...
dave birch Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I don't sit on fences...I crush them. A barbed wire fence, alan? That's what the prem is, isn't it?
nicko Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 A barbed wire fence, alan? That's what the prem is, isn't it? Not for the Great Man. More like a tightrope to the promised land.
RoyRover Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Why does no-one rate Cisse,he's from Marseille and he's available that means we are in for him! A fit RSC and Cisse would be a tremedous parnership. That team is strong in the air at the back and up front which sam would like, dont think this team would get bullied much around the EPL next year. Cisse looks the part, but has has never been able to score consistently in the Premiership. The Jones/Cisse partnership looked like it could work for a while, but never really did. There's no reason to think he and Roque (who could well be leaving) would be able to make a good partnership.
Captain_Planet Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I think it could be Kris Boyd from Rangers The other scotish player I could think of who Nicko said his mate fancied was Derek Riordan.
Gally Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Boyd seems to fit the bill but does he really strike anyone as a Big Sam player? goal scorer but very little else.
LeChuck Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 It can't be Boyd, one of the main clues is that no-one knows he's available - every man and his dog knows that Boyd has been available from Rangers for quite a while now. Birmingham were very close to signing him in January.
begresko Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Does anyone know who the dutch striker is that hull are after? Just out of interest. Phil Brown said at a question and answer session that there were close to a dutch striker and everyone would be impressed... Instantly i thought J Vennegor of Hesselink. Well at least it would meet 50% of that comment
Kai Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Cisse looks the part, but has has never been able to score consistently in the Premiership. The Jones/Cisse partnership looked like it could work for a while, but never really did. There's no reason to think he and Roque (who could well be leaving) would be able to make a good partnership. There's more to it than just that. There's a couple of things that would make him a possible signing for next season: 1) He's available 2) He's available on a loan (i.e. no risk) I disagree that he can't score goals consistently in the Premiership - He will guarantee at least 10 goals per season. Now don't get me wrong, he's not my number 1 choice, but for all the factors involved, he represents a 'safe' signing, shouldn't cost too much (loan fee and wages) and would add some pace to our squad. Plus I think he's a good friend of Diouf if I remember right.
LeChuck Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 2) He's available on a loan (i.e. no risk) He'll be on big wages and the loan fee would be in excess of £1 million. I honestly don't think he's worth it.
OJRovers Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Tugay owns a Black Bentley So does Benni McCarthy - massive chrome wheels and plenty of bling.
LeChuck Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Tugay owns a Black Bentley Surprised Ince didn't try playing him on the right wing.
Hughesy Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Everton to join MBami chase, they always seem to follow our links As usual!!
T4E Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 It can't be Boyd, one of the main clues is that no-one knows he's available - every man and his dog knows that Boyd has been available from Rangers for quite a while now. Birmingham were very close to signing him in January. Its not Boyd - Nicko doesn't rate Boyd. Another example of his shocking judgement of a footballer. The other scotish player I could think of who Nicko said his mate fancied was Derek Riordan. If Riordan is better than Kevin Kuranyi then Keith Andrews is the next Iniesta.
Bennisfromheaven Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 If i remember correctly Nicko made the comment about coyle being interested as an off the cuff remark, Im sure if the two were discussing Lionel messi, Coyle would say he fancies him!! (not in the Biblical sense!?! .....although he is a Dingle!!) Therefore, Im sure this could be anyone & the Burnley link should not be read into too far!!
T4E Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 As someone said, Nicko didn't say anything about Burnley, he said Coyle had tried to sign him once. He has managed other clubs as well.
LeChuck Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 As someone said, Nicko didn't say anything about Burnley, he said Coyle had tried to sign him once. He has managed other clubs as well. If it was when he was at Falkirk or (more likely) St. Johnstone then this is going to be very hard to guess. Scott McDonald?
Gally Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Steven Fletcher? maybe in January he wanted him for Burnley.
LeChuck Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Steven Fletcher? maybe in January he wanted him for Burnley. Could be, but his name has been bandied around so much recently that I wouldn't think he fits into the 'no-one knows he's available' criteria.
The Rover of Finland Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 If it was when he was at Falkirk or (more likely) St. Johnstone then this is going to be very hard to guess. Scott McDonald? You guys really under rate Kevin Kuranyi! Mystery guy is better than him said Nicko. If it´s not Rooney he isn´t British.
Bennisfromheaven Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Tugay owns a Black Bentley Hes probably faster than the white one!?!
