Pretty unlikely Falkirk or St Johnstone were ever seriously in for Scott McDonald.

It probably is a player that he's tried for with Burnley, possibly someone young on loan that we're now trying to do a permanent deal for.

I wonder if we will make some inquiry, about Luca Toni. The guy is talented, and might attract bigger clubs, but i wonder if we can do business once more with Bayern. Seems like the Roque signing, he is surplus to requirements as they have just signed Olic and Mario Gomes.

Nicko, are Rovers interested in Matthew Bates? Any clue will Sam be in France this weekend? I wonder if they like him in Marseille..

Bates was fancied by Wigan...but their manager is heading elsewhere.

Will check on Sam's movements.

Is there any possibility to sign Obafemi Martins who I believe is a quality player with a lot of pace. He would be perfect to have in a 4-3-3 role on the wing. Also Sam has worked with Kevin Nolan but he's on a new contract and would be expensive.

Sam told me personally after the Portsmouth game that he was going to Newcastle v Middelsborugh to watch Martins and Beye :)

Martins could be the ideal foil for Benni imo, how much space would they create between them?

ADB, do we have to take into consideration Benni's belly? Might not be any space left :-)

Still think we need a pacey forward, and a creative midfielder because we just seem too slow going forward.

Beckford is poor - if he was good enough, a championship team would of snapped him up by now, never mind Premierleague. The only lad at Leeds with a really bright future is that young midfielder Fabian Delph.

I think plenty of Championship clubs (and possibly even a few Premiership ones) have shown an interest in Beckford before, but he was waiting to see if Leeds could get promoted first. Now that they've missed out again he's leaving.

Every so often there are players who rise through the leagues to become a good top level players, Kevin Phillips is the best recent one I can think of without resorting to research. Beckford looks like he has all the raw tools and he can finish, depending on the price I wouldn't mind him coming in as a replacement for Derbyshire.

I'll settle for Karim Benzema and Messi up front next season;) . If United don't snap them both up. You gotta laugh its good when you can buy the player who scores against you, best form of defence i reckon...like they did with Tevez and Saha

Nothing to do with the fact that im Northern Irish, but I reckon Chris Brunt would be a great signing. He has had a fairly good season personally and he looked the part at Ewood. He could have scored a great goal too only for Robbo to match his effort.

Anyone agree at all?
