What a load of crap, they don't even know which Faye they're on about. The article has been written like it's about Abdoulaye Faye, not Amdy Faye, who has never even played for Bolton. I'm not even sure it was Allardyce who took him to Newcastle.

I've heard we are in for Elrio van Heerden, although I have never heard of him.

Who else is getting post traumatic flashbacks to Aaron Mokoena?!

Pretty good goal though:

In Wiki, it says he signed for Bruge in 2006. If he signed a 3 year deal, he would be coming to the end of his deal this summer...

Elrio is a right sided midfielder, pacey winger. Can play in central midfield as well. We have a much more talented player playing in South Africa, that according to most will be a bigger star than Steven Pienaar. His name is Teko Modise, and people are saying he is already a better player than Pienaar. Will probably leave SA soon to join a European club.

Elrio aint Mokoena, he is a pretty good footballer. Can dribble, and is quick.

groan - I promised myself I wouldn't post on this topic again as it's a completely pointless debate - but I just can't resist.

Wages bill has to be controlled - agree, although reluctantly

Board cannot do anything else other than what they are doing because of shortage of funds - totally accept that

Trustees are short of cash and have said 'no more' - totally understand, sad, irritating etc - but I understand

Club should be sold to new investors but there are no buyers out their right now - OK, beginning to lose my grip - but go on then - accepted

Therefore, where we are is where we will have to stay, and just be grateful for small mercies - NO - that's not an argument, it's opinion.

My 'opinion' is, I think, just as valid. If you cannot sell the club then you are asking too much for it !!

There are buyers out there - witness Portsmouth and potentially Newcastle. If we were asking one pound for the club then there'd be a flood of takers. If we were asking for one pound plus a commitment to put a further 60 million aside for a transfer pot then there would be an awful lot less buyers interested but I bet still a few because their money is going to be reinvested in the asset they own and not going into some outside pocket. Net, they will have paid out the asking price for the club but the money will go into the club and not the trustee's coffers. I thought Jack wanted the trust to support the Rovers not that the Rovers were there to support the trust.

Asking for 60+ million for a sale is just daft. If that's not the figure please shout out someone - but the principle is the same whatever the figure. Jack put money into the club because it was his love and his pet project. If the Walkers have come to the end of the road with us then fair enough but I suggest that it is adrift from any wish that Jack would have made for the club to raise funds to pay back those who haven't put anything in.

I encourage the trustees and the Walker family to sever their links with us if that is really what they want to do, but just get real, sell us as a going concern and don't be too green eyed about the sale price.

I take it that the board are continueing to pay Paul Ince and his cohorts a full monthly wage until their contracts expire, this must represent around £2m plus per season in LOST WAGES .

According to goal.com the figure for Derbs is in the region of £3 million: http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009...matt-derbyshire

Just read that article about Derbs, did he really go over there and score 8 in 13 games! Do you think Big Sam will give him a go next season?

I thought Boyd had a reputation for being like Bennie macarthy - fat and lazy who scores goals for his team.

Never said he'd be good for us but he'd cut it in the prem.

Derb's will be leaving he's got a suitor now, something he's not had before. The Greek superleague is no comparison to the premiership, so no I doubt he'll be here next season.

Here is a name that might sound unrealistic, but im going to have a go and say wouldnt be surprised if Sam checks out Nihat Kahveci(sp).

Nicko it seems almost the entire Egyptian team is on Rovers radar, another name coming from there is Mohammad Zidan, along with Shikkabala. Any idea on the Zidan rumours?

Nihat is quality. Remember him in the Euro's last summer. Probably way out of our league I'm afraid!

The Zidan rumours have just been rumours to be honest. He is a very talented player, but very inconsistent. Great skills and pace, and can play up front and as a right winger. It does seem as if Sam is addressing the right wing problem though.

With reference to Teko Modise, email his details to the club, seriously we have S.A. contacts, we must have with benni and aaron playing here/having played here.

You never know.

I have a feeling Modise will land up at Atletico Madrid, or Panathinaikos for next season. He is superb and rated as a better prospect than Pienaar. He is a free kick specialist, and an attacking central midfielder.

And he is apparently according to a radio station here, a target for Aston Villa. Oh well, next.

Is he the Turkish forward who dragged Turkey off the floor in a game and got them threw ?

Thats correct Jal. Nihat has been quiet lately, and not heard much of him. Sam could well have enquired about him, if the fee and wages are okay, which im afraid might not be the case.

I've not seen him play but have a couple of friends in SA and they have raved about him as well.

Every little helps.

He is good, i would go as far as saying he is better than Benni, playing from midfield. Can anybody put some info about him on here. He might go for as little as 300 000 pounds(3 million rand)

Look i mentioned Pienaar before and got laughed at, its just me letting you guys know about Modise. He will be cheap, wages will be easily affordable. He might be on 3000 pounds(30 000 rand) a month right now which is alot for a South African player.

Always reliable tribalfootball says Spurs are offering £m7,5 for Warnock. I like him and his attitude but he´s not worth more than Givet. Olympiakos can have Derbs if their offer is £m3 as rumoured. We have to sell before buy.

So, no right guesses yet Mr. Nixon. Could you atleast give us some clue when something could be happening? Main leagues are now over in Europe.

Hahaha, okay ill try and contact the club. If there is somebody like Hughesy close to the club, then do put the name there. He is a talent, whether he will make it in England well thats up to him and his attitude. He will be in the confederations cup squad, so look out for him

Cheers guys

Arguably, Givet is worth a helluva lot more then £3.5m from what we've seen of him so far.

I wouldn't want us to sell Warnock since it will leave us short of offensive quality from the left back spot... but Givet can do a quality job defensively there and £7.5m is a lot of money. Anything less is a no-go for me though. If Bridge can go for £10m...
