Davis would be an interesting one. But if he couldn't agree terms with Pompey it sounds like he wants mega money. Can we afford that? Also I think we probably need a creative central player more than we need a "destroyer".

Is he really any good???

When we played Pompey, Tugay & Grella dominated the midfield, I was drunk & busy singing, but whenever I managed to get a look, they were running rings around him.

I haven't seen him play so much so I cant pass an honest judgement, but from what I saw it looked as though we could do a lot better!!!

Wasn't planning an update as there is not much new...and I have had something else on...but...

SEAN DAVIS - quite possible although Bolton think they are getting him.

STURRIDGE - still more likely to go to Chelsea.

MYSTERY MAN - just give is time.

ROBINSON - not going.

ZURAB - looking for a new home...Galatasaray want him but he would prefer the Prem.

WEE ELRIO - looking forward to seeing him in the Confederations Cup before making a judgement.

Managerial mayhem elsewhere. Wigan in for Martinez, Celtic still sniffing around, Bruce not yet done at Sunderland.

No questions please. Knackered.

Thanks Nicko. I see Bolton are also favourites to sign both Scholes and Huddlestone. Rather depressing, both of those players would walk into our team.

By and large, when players are leaving City or Chelsea, the word bargain should never be used.

Problem is wages.

Remember total cost of ownership not determines whether there is value or not:

Transfer fee + wages for four years - possible transfer fee if resold at any time.

Those are the sums the club will be doing so fans had better get used to doing them as well if you want to second guess who is coming and who is not with any accuracy.

Me too. The devil you know and all that. Zurab has rarely let us down.

He had been poor in few rare games hes played last season, notably Coventry away, when he was substituted mid way through the second half. He probably knew then that he wouldnt be stopping for too long.

Nicko,

The mystery man - what are the timelines attributed to it ? have negotiations commenced / advanced / players terms etc, and are we looking at a possible 10 goal a season player or more of a contributor / assister to 10 goals a season ?

Is there any truth that we may also be interested in Huddlestone / Chimbonda / Bent in a swap deal for RSC ?

Cheers.

Well, I would say broadly speaking Daivs has had good form over the last three or four months aand he does have some talent. But this could be the common "I need a new contract" uplift in ability.

Looked a real prospect at Fulham. Been pretty average since. You would have to ask whether he would be much of an improvement over Grella.

Thats the best question. Would Davis be better than Grella. I doubt it.

From what I saw the other week, I would agree... So are we decided on Grella being good enough, as it does seem to have gone quiet on the M'Bami / M'Bia front???

i would take seitaridis over chimbonda any time, don't think chim as proven himself over the last two or three years in the prem. so we can't not throw 3mill on him.. seitaridis free would be to prefer. if he can go injuryfree for a while, i'm sure he will cut it in the premier. on the sean davis topic. i don't rate him at all. he is no better then anyone else we have on the midfield, and that says it all. i will almost go as far as saying andrews is a better option. and therefore i think mbami is a far better option. he looks like a player who wins balls, and deliver nicely to players around, and it looks like he's very eager to prove himself. and that is good

and a question for nicko: do you know the situation on david hoilett. he looks like a real good prospect. do you know if there is any chance we can get a work permit for hm this summer?

Man U won't let Scholes go just now.

Can't see Huddlestone in a Bolton shirt...something dark would be more flattering.

I know there is a lot of frustration about this - I don't see how he gets a work permit. He will probably have to get a full cap somewhere before you can make a push for him. Very odd situation.

Anything new happening Nicko? Who have City got in their sights next?

Anything coming from spurs with regards to Chimbonda/ RSC/ Bent or Huddlestone

There could be a lot of talking done at the Premier League meeting tomorrow and Friday - one or two deals may get moved on a bit.

I think Chimbonda would only happen in a swap for Roque [or even Warnock] - so that is complicated. Bent to Sunderland is likely, no idea about Hulkingstone. Big wages and a big fee. You need more legs than that.

If that happened i would be livid. We haven't even tied down Givet yet...

Bentley and Chimbonda might seal the deal though!

Sky Sports reporting we have rejected Olympiakos first offer for Derbyshire...

you'd not be the only one who'd be furious. Need to get incomers tidied up before we look at outgoings like Warnock. what is Nicko's agenda over Warnock anyway? He seems determined he is leaving. More than just info - is he Warnock's agent in disguise?

Why is it the big clubs have no problems getting permits for all kinds of nationalities!?

They do. Most of the big teams sign the players and ship them off to belgium for 3 years to get a EU passport. However we have sent him to Germany where it is higher.

If Sam can give assurances about him being a fixture in the first team squad then he would get a permit, like friedel did, but I don't see how they can do that when he 18 and we don't really know his game that well.

No agenda.

This time last year Warnock didn't like Ince and Ince told him about Newcastle United - in front of the rest of the players.

A few weeks ago I found out Tottenham still want him...and that the present manager may be willing to sell.

We shall see.
