RevidgeBlue Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I don't know if there's any mileage in it but a mate of mine who has connections with Ewood said Sam Allardyce is considering a young Dutch midfielder called Juan Der Braa. Not sure where he's at but he's supposed to hold things up quite well and quite handy up front. Should be pretty useful in the Cups as well no doubt.

andymo Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I wonder if he likes being taken off? Lol come on guys lets get back to the topic in hand Big 'Mams' sorry 'Sams' Summer Shopping List
nicko Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Does anybody know if Seiterides is still a target. I still think he is our best option, and capable option for right back. Ive also heard Ryan Taylor's name mentioned again, Nicko any more on those 2 names? Push me on the right back vacancy and I would say: 1 - Civelli would be the 'squad' option - someone who can play centre half and right back. 2 - Chimbonda would be the 'swap' option - someone who can play all across the back. 3 - Seitaridis is an option if 1 or 2 does not happen. 4 - Ryan Taylor is an option in the Last Dance at the Disco period on August 31. ON A SIDE-NOTE...HERE IS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF NICKO'S RULE...'THREE CLUBS IN FOR ONE PLAYER EQUALS TOTAL BULLSHINE.' http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...5361866,00.html
Iceman Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Will the new young goalkeeper we signed, be with the academy or part of the reserves? Im guessing the academy, but can anybody confirm this?
Hughesy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Is Civelli still being daft on his wage demands? Have we actually started talking to him? Any outgoings on the move at ewood nicko? Also where does todays announcement leave Sbragia at Sunderland?
nicko Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Is Civelli still being daft on his wage demands? Have we actually started talking to him? Any outgoings on the move at ewood nicko? Also where does todays announcement leave Sbragia at Sunderland? Rovers know Civelli's wage demands. I presume this has not been done by telepathy. He will come down to sensible levels. Or he will be kicking those size 12 heels for some time. Outgoings? Do you want me to give the Rev a heart attack? Sbragia is interesting. Brucie won't want him, the guy himself will feel awkward. However I believe he is due a survival bonus soon, so he may hang around. Could turn up at Ewood or there is always his old job back at the Happy Days Cafe.

Is there no truth then, about his wage demands which might put an end to the deal? Oops, sorry Nicko you have just answered my question as well about Civelli. Beat me to it Hughesy
nicko Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Alan you still mention Civelli. Is there no truth then, about his wage demands which might put an end to the deal? He is being silly. But in the words of a well-known agent...'it's called negotiation.'
Hughesy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Outgoings? Do you want me to give the Rev a heart attack? Go ahead....
RevidgeBlue Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Outgoings? Do you want me to give the Rev a heart attack? It's o.k. Derbyshire, Gallagher, Rigters, Judge, Brown,Treacy. I can live with that.
LeChuck Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Errr..........we've gained a versatile defender who can play either at full back or centre half and lost one as well! Sorry to break this to you Rev, but Ooijer and Givet were playing in the same team for five months. We're one first team defender down on what we had at the end of the season and that needs fixing. Sam is looking at options so he obviously sees it that way too. I'm still struggling to see how anyone could see it any other way.
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I can do a list from what i have heard, and if Nicko could correct the wrong ones it would be appreciated: Stephen Warnock - Have heard rumours... If a good offer comes in he will go... Roque Santa Cruz - Look above Zurab Khizanishvili - Galatasaray in talks... Keith Andrews - Not Sam's type of player from what i have heard... If good offer... Alan Judge - Sam is inviting offers Jason Brown - Wants out. Sam wont stop him... Paul Gallagher - Look above Maceo Rigters - Will be loaned out till contract expires David Hoilett - If the work permit can't be sorted, he may be flogged to a German team... Matt Derbyshire - Olympiacos... £3.5 million... Bjorn Bussmann - Returning to Germany Bryan Hodge - Motherwell want him... Julio Santa Cruz - Will be loaned out next season.
nicko Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 You have lost Ooijer and Simpson. So you need one extra right-back. Maybe Emerton, but you may well lose Zurab which would mean money for a reserve and allow the manager to bring in a new face. If you get Civelli the balance looks good... If you get Chimbonda as well you are borderline top-heavy, but very strong. If you got neither you would be weak. In the end it will probably come down to finance.
Hughesy Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Do we have any good young defenders in our reserve/ youth team? Maybe one of them can step up to Zurab's position and save us £25k/ £1.3m (approx) in wages

Maybe one of them can step up to Zurab's position and save us £25k/ £1.3m (approx) in wages According to Ian Brunskill Gavin Gunning is the closest one to be ready for action. Has been training with the first team. Anybody know how Johnny Flynn's been at the reserve team?
blue and whites Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 nicko: you might have answered this before, but are the x-striker a possible transfer coming in soon? and are there any other teams interested? do you have news for a 11 clocker tonight?
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I know the following is a player Rovers haven't shown interest in, but Michael Mancienne could be available on loan ala Danny Simpson. Only he is hands down better. Chelsea are looking to re-sign Johnson from Pompey by all accounts and Mancienne is pure quality from what i have seen of him... Would solve our RB problem with him and Emerton. Opinions?

Wamts him in the starting 11 at Chelsea. Classy player.
philipl Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 This is Rovers and we have just had a pretty decent half season. It's got to be tin hat time for an annoying nowhere near enough but unsettling offer to come in for Samba from a club we either despise or think we are better than. Personally I am pretty happy Levy's Spuds and their players have between them a hugely inflated view of their rejects' worths- if 'Arry had offloaded his iffy goods the way West Ham raised £40m for a bunch of non-entities last season, I'd hate to think what would be going on in the Spurts loving press around three and maybe four of our players by now.
John Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Still surprised we have not seen Samba linked with other teams, yet......
