nicko Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 What's this? Tugay to Liverpool or City? Tuncay...wants to play for Liverpool. Tugay will be going to Man City to do his coaching badges. Comparethemeerkats.com production.
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 What's this? Tugay to Liverpool or City? Muppets!! 1st bit is Tugay "He was also asked about the reports in various newspapers that Benitez wanted him, and he replied: “I have heard something about that, but there has been nothing official so far. Of course, I would like to play for a big team.” is Tuncay!
philipl Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Owen and Viduka are out of contract but that still leaves Newcastle with at least a £66m wages bill in the Championship. I will be very happy if we avoided every player at that awful club. The fact Shearer wants a £10m+ net transfer budget to build a promotion winning side tells you he doesn't even think most of them are good enough for the Championship. They certainly aren't good enough for the Prem.
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Any of the City lot worth a gamble? Definitely being turfed out this summer are Danny Mills, Michael Ball, Dietmar Hamann and Glauber Berti, who are out of contract. Hughes will also listen to offers for Jo, Elano, Tal Ben-Haim, Javier Garrido, Darius Vassell, Valeri Bojinov, Felipe Caicedo, Gelson Fernandes, Benjani Mwaruwari and Kasper Schmeichel. What about the kid Fernandes?
philipl Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Problem with many at City are ridiculous ££££ wages. It is two years since Thaksin waltzed in and cash splashing started.

What about the kid Fernandes? Caicedo is not the worst - if someone could teach him the offside law. Very young and very powerful. Like Benjani, but perhaps the fire has gone out there. The rest can go to Jobseekers.
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I too like Caicedo and was kind of hoping he would be the mystery striker - He is massive, the natural replacement for Jason Roberts, strong, fast and a real handful - he will only get better with experience. Id be delighted if we could get him. Still stick by that Fernandes lad - he has talent - just needs regular football (like bentley did).
neophox Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Maybe its Lucas Neill coming from West Ham. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...5362929,00.html I've heard that David Di Michele is available on a free. Maybe go for him?
Hughesy Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Sebastian Larsson has only got 12 months left on his contract - could be worth a cheeky bid?!
nicko Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Sebastian Larsson has only got 12 months left on his contract - could be worth a cheeky bid?! Touted as a Bentley replacement a year ago...reckoned he wasn't up to it then and he has done nothing since to change my mind.
HemelRover Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Owen - £6 million-plus. Viduka [soon] - £4 million or so. Smith [if they can] - £3 million or so. That would be a decent start. Sorry Nicko. Newcastle are looking for £4mil for VIDUKA? Please tell me thats the wages they're looking to save or something. £4mil for Viduka must be a joke?

HemelRover Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 No, I meant annual wages off the payroll... Cheers for clearing that up. To be honest though, anything is possible at the toon.
Sandman Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Nicko, i was just reading one of the city boards and they think they are definately in for Tevez and Eto, surely they won't be after Roque if they get those two.

It's funny season at Manchester City. So stupid in fact, i am starting to think they should put a cap on how much Premier League teams are allowed to spend in windows. They are currently persueing Tevez, Eto'o and Edin Dzeko...
Amo Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 It's funny season at Manchester City. So stupid in fact, i am starting to think they should put a cap on how much Premier League teams are allowed to spend in windows. Don't be a commie.
mickbrown Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Maybe its Lucas Neill coming from West Ham. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...5362929,00.html I've heard that David Di Michele is available on a free. Maybe go for him? David Di Michele is bloody awful, spends half the match on his arse and the other half missing chances. He is one of the worst finishers I have ever seen and still has a year on his deal at torino so don't think he is available on a free. Neill's wage demands are out of your budget I would imagine.
mckenny16 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I think that Roque to City might still go on. If they're looking to have a clear out and the list of names above can be used, then they don't have anyone else. When you get rid of Jo, Darius Vassell, Valeri Bojinov, Felipe Caicedo and Benjani Mwaruwari, all they have is Ched Evens. Having three top strikers (Tevez, Eto'o and Roque) would make sense really.
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Roque is far far more likely to go to Spurs at the moment...
Amo Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Roque is far far more likely to go to Spurs at the moment... Darren Bent and a tasty swag bag would do very nicely. Whether the big man rates Bent or not, remains to be seen.

They have Robinho as well if he stays. Surely the likes of Tevez won't want to sit on the bench on Man City when he is frustrated at doing that at a club wich is actually in Europe and winning stuff as well.
