EwoodGlory Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 In addition to the Vital Wigan link Hi all worbo here from Vital Wigan spoke to Amr Zaki's agent today, nice bloke and no doubt he will be making contact with someone from here soon, but he told me that Zaki will be signing for you in a permanent move in the next two days

roverseas Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Wouldn't mind Zaki if we can keep him in check. As for those of you suggesting Jonas Olsson, what has he ever done? He's not even good enough to play for Sweden, let alone Rovers. Not a single cap for a country which hasn't had any decent defenders (apart from occasionally Mellberg) since Patrik Andersson quit back in 2002. He did alright at West Brom but he wouldn't strengthen us at all imo.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 In addition to the Vital Wigan link "In addition to" doesn't usually include "the same bloke repeating himself". A Wigan fan from a fan-run website contacted Zaki's agent, it's still not particularly credible and I'd still be very disappointed if we spent a penny on him.
joey_big_nose Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Thats amazing! Its very rare for someone to stick their neck out like that and say someones definately signing and it turn out not to be true. We shall see.
Backroom Tom Posted June 4, 2009 Backroom Posted June 4, 2009 I wouldn't be dismayed with Zaki the lad has talent and Sam could easily get the best from him Doubt its true though
nicko Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Many thanks to tugay4england...a sharp mind. It was saying you could do better than Zaki that sparked a million PMs on the mystery striker. Zaki is a bam. His agent is looking for £5 million-a-year for his player, quoted it to a mate of mine last week. Avoid like the plague.
rovers1995 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Nicko, anything happened today in the mad world that is football?
nicko Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Nicko, anything happened today in the mad world that is football? Martinez even closer to Wigan...Real WILL bid for Ronaldo...Man City sniffing round Lescott and posisbly Lucas Neill...
rovers1995 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Thanks Nicko, as long as they don't sniff round Samba i'll be happy and that includes Everton if they do sell Lescott.
joey_big_nose Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 His agent is looking for £5 million-a-year for his player, quoted it to a mate of mine last week. Um, that can't be right? 96k a week? Thats about what Robino and Terry are on right? No one will pay that in a million years
imy9 Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 £5 million a season!! We want to cut our wage bill by that amount not increase it! Next...
Ewood and I Would Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Nicko you sure it wasn't 5 million Egyptian pounds? That equates to £10k Sterling a week 1 EGP = 11 pence
Gally Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Wigan Athletic turned down the offer to sign him when they are crying out for forwards and he wants how much? I'd be amazed if anybody payed him even half that.
nicko Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Um, that can't be right? 96k a week? Thats about what Robino and Terry are on right? No one will pay that in a million years The player and agent are equally barking.
AJW Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 any more news on the RB situation nicko ? anyone else in the frame?
67splitscreen Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 5m, barking mad if you ask me, Zaki has a history injuries, as bad as Dunny and Reid, but always seems to be fit for internationals according to these poster opinions. Zaki in Russia. go to bottom of page. Closer to home
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Nicko. Don't know if you saw my comment from earlier. I heard we were one of six teams talking to Gelson Fernandes... Any chance?
alexanders Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Blackburn after Vastic son Toni Apparently both we and Villa are interested in old Croatian player Ivica Vastic's 17 yr old son Toni. The text is in german, but it says that Ivica Vastic means that English Premier league is best league and wants his son to play there.
RovertheHill Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Martinez even closer to Wigan...Real WILL bid for Ronaldo...Man City sniffing round Lescott and posisbly Lucas Neill... Even I've had Man City make a bid for me - hasn't everyone? I heard that Lescott's young kid often turns up to nursery in an Arsenal shirt... Oops - wayyyy off-topic - sorry
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Iv mentioned both him & Seb Larsson on here today - now they are both linked!?! Someones watching this site!! Maybe its stroke boy?? So who would you want Sam to sign then (realistically)?........... I can't give you an answer to that. I don't really know who's staying and who's going at Rovers. I don't know who's available at other clubs. I don't know what our transfer budget is. All I can tell you is what I think about the players that are mooted on this site at the moment. None of those three excite me in any way. I'm quite surprised that we signed the young lad the other day given the fact that Sam is quoted as saying he wants a smaller squad of better quality. This lad sounds very much like a squad player to me.
namco Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 but while watching the yanks WC qualifier last night, while they were getting torn apart by Costa Rica, I found myself watching a game on Saprissa's home turf, adn watching a kid named Celso Borges play well. Weren't we linked with him a while back, maybe under Hughes? Still looked a decent player, though it looks like he's now at Fredrickstad... any running interest from the club in him? Borges has not impressed me in the Norwegian Tippeliga. He has been good, but not brilliant like most people expected him to be when he signed for Fredrikstad. With that said, he has been improving every week and if he can keep his progress going he will for sure be a key-player for Fredrikstad and a hot transfer object for other European clubs.
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Goal.com now running the Zaki story: http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009...n-rovers-report Can't see that article being correct, it says were paying £7 million for him!
Fylde Coast Fan Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Where are we getting €8 million from? And if we've got it, why aren't we buying a new midfield with it?
