gumboots Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Aren't players either going to be away with international teams or on holiday with their families? I can't see much happening for the next couple of weeks, apart from maybe a scramble to sign Bosman players. But you only deal with players when you've got the club and the agent sorted out anyway. There's a lot of sounding out and discussing fees etc that can be done even if the player is on hols. They all have mobiles and the internet to stay in touch. I know on international duty many are not allowed mobiles but their agent can still take a potential deal a long way and then put it to the player later. This is the time when a lot of behind scenes stuff is done.
Manc Rover Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Coyle was after him but I think he's been mentioned before so he isn't the mystery man. He look like the reserve drummer boy we have every now and again. You know the one - looks like he's from Burnley!
T4E Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I would like this guy to Ewood Park. Looks as a Solskjaer type of player. Born goalscorer. Is that supposed to be funny? Because it's really not.
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Just heard we are being linked to quite a exciting young midfielder. Am running it past Nicko first so don't get your hopes up. Will let you all know more when he gets back to me...
alexanders Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Is that supposed to be funny? Because it's really not. It's not. Is he that rubbish? He looks like a natural goalscorer.
T4E Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 It's not. Is he that rubbish? He looks like a natural goalscorer. Based on what? Was a decent prospect before he went to Celtic. Scored a few goals in the SPL. Thats about the best I can say about him. Nowhere near good enough for this level.
alexanders Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Based on another guys opinion and the video of him. Seemed to be scoring from every angle and with both head and feet. He also seems to have a good goalscoring record and has featured for the scottish national team. Surely he can't be that garbage?
ni_rover Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Based on what? Was a decent prospect before he went to Celtic. Scored a few goals in the SPL. Thats about the best I can say about him. Nowhere near good enough for this level. Thrown any crappy standard Premiership striker into Rangers or Celtic and they'll score 20+ goals in a very poor league. Samaras, Miller, Hartson.........the list goes on!!!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 From what I've seen of him, he's not a bad player at all. If we signed him to replace Derbyshire, I wouldn't be too disappointed. EDIT: I thought he was younger actually. Maybe not...
LeChuck Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 His goalscoring record is okay, nothing special though. Seems like a poor man's Matt Derbyshire to me, whilst being quite a few years older.
T4E Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Not strong enough or quick enough for the Premier League. Think of a poor mans Derbyshire and you'll be along the right lines. His goalscoring record is okay, nothing special though. Seems like a poor man's Matt Derbyshire to me, whilst being quite a few years older. Haha. Thats really spooky.
LeChuck Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Haha. Thats really spooky. That really is. Must try not to do that again. I also wrote about Derbyshire the exact same minute ADB did, so it looks a bit like I was replying to it.
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Setanta reporting were after 16-yr-old Australian starlet Toni Vastic (striker): http://www.setanta.com/uk/Articles/Footbal...urn/gnid-55966/ Doubt it's Nicko's one though... Edit, was posted under a German site last night: http://www.volksblatt.at/index.php?id=52845&MP=61-9400

Guest benmaxwell Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Vastic Junior And Vastc senior getting Ready For Rovers? It says something along the lines of, we sent scouts to view him 2 weeks ago, and now were ready to make a offer as we have been sufficiently impressed i think... Sorry my German is a bit rusty...
Hughesy Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Vastic Junior And Vastc senior getting Ready For Rovers? Cany anyone translate this article?
Iceman Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Im still hoping we can try and get Luca Toni on loan at least from Bayern. He is not wanted by them, after they signed 2 other strikers(cant get to their names) but think i might be dreaming as some would point out.
kandi Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 It says something along the lines of, we sent scouts to view him 2 weeks ago, and now were ready to make a offer as we have been sufficiently impressed i think... Sorry my German is a bit rusty... It says 2 weeks ago he was on trial at Blackburn.
Backroom DE. Posted June 5, 2009 Backroom Posted June 5, 2009 If Toni was available, he'd go to a club with a better reputation and European prospects I'm afraid.
Doaksie Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Right click and translate with Live Search gives this broken English translation. Not great but you get the idea - We see sensational pictures from the LASK training on the Gugl: Ivica and Toni Vastic - side by side! Same body language, same attitude, same game style and already speculated whether Toni Vastic already on Sunday during the last Bundesliga in Mattersburg is used-and also whether the resignation of Ivo but not to permanently is how accepted? Giant talent Fact: Toni Vastic considered great talent. The Blackburn Rovers are tuned to Toni. Two weeks ago he was on trial training in England. Ivo: "Blackburn wants it and observed it constantly - but it is probably better to make the school ready." " Toni has also offers from NK Dinamo Zagreb and Partizan. He is in the U-16 national team, is still in the new Academy of LASK, leads to the table with the U17 (clear before storm, rapid and Red Bull Salzburg) and is used also in the 19. 9 Toni enters the number 9. His model? Of course my dad and Cristiano Ronaldo. "" Now leaves him Hans Krankl to the first time correctly when the professionals with trainieren: hermut vom Typ is he like the Ivo technically strong, schlaksig. He has what but I can not yet fully assess it. Because I must often see him. "" Ivo says: Toni is just like I. He has the football in the blood. He would prevail. But I do him no pressure. He should alone can develop. ""
Iceman Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 If Toni was available, he'd go to a club with a better reputation and European prospects I'm afraid. I know, it just reminds me of Roque. Toni, would probably land up at Juventus or Milan. Anyway, Sam does tend to surprise us with signings, that we never thought was possible.
