looking at that couple of points need making first off Robbo for god sake stay on your line do not come so advanced then it becomes difficult to save and it should have been saved may have got a deflection but should never score from so far out, please for god sake tell Roberts when you are clear with an open goal just do the basics and put it in the back of the net don't try being clever and run with the ball and when you play a team like split you can not keep giving it away when Utd come to town you keep giving the ball away so cheaply a good team will have a field day and you will get walloped apart from that prob good to play a team like split as they are a lot better technically and I felt it will do the players good to learn from.

Reminds me of that American lad who used to post on here - never used more than one paragraph .

....except his posts were well worth reading ! :)

And whilst Big Sam was pleased with that first performance, he was less so in the second match as Rovers lost 1-0 to hosts Hajduk Split.

"I thought the first eleven were very good against Nacional, apart from good crosses going in without ever creating any chances" said the Rovers manager. "Hence the reason we are looking for another front man to add more power up there.

"So that eleven were good and we had some young lads in there as well as some more experienced and they did well.

"But I thought the second eleven, with the Dioufy´s, Jason Roberts, Morten who has only just come back and Dunny, looked a little jaded to me and we were outplayed by Hajduk Split in midfield."

(The above is taken from the Rovers Official site)

The thing Ilike about BS is that he is not afraid to tell some of the senior players like it is and ruffle a few feathers.

That's quite funny cos I did exactly that just before reading your post. If people are going to do solid blocks with no punctuation not many people will bother and those that do will most likely not understand it!

They already look tired!...............The goalscorer is worth bringing over for a trial.............

Its plain to see that Dunny looks so slow hed struggle in the Blackburn combination never mind the professional game.

Recruitment/investment seriously needed in the centre of our midfield!

Dioufy had a belter of a game against AS Roma, and scored vs cambridge, so he's not looking in bad shape, compared to the other fellas. Any one else feel mccarthys past it, apart from a few silky touches every now and them not much else to talk about when he's playing

Brfcrule1, as I stated on the other thread, please at least try to punctuate your posts. It's impossible to read a block of text like that. Try using a full stop and comma, you might quite like it lol.

Otherwise people will just ignore your posts.

Billy Bradshaw was a reliable penalty taker - but that was way way back before my time.

I would advise Brown has a good luck at his positioning after the goals he conceeded against Roma. The first goal was a wonderful shot, but I believe he was too far over to his right and not giving enough protection at his near post. As for the second, Brown failed to get his wall right and was stood directly behind the wall when the free kick was taken hence he did not provide cover at his far post.

I was disappointed with the goal we conceeded against Split, and the amount of time and respect we gave their players. However, it was evident that they were much more advanced in their preparations, but I'm sure our fitness will improve over time.

Coming out and closing down the angle is the basics of keeping. Standing on your line creates a larger area for the striker to aim at and means you have to work a lot harder to get the ball safe.

In this case I think the problem was that the defender was stood directly in his way and there may have been a deflection to compound it. Soft goal but who really cares in his first game since May against a team who kick off their league on Saturday.

Out of interest who is going to the Leeds game?

I'm tempted to go but the lads I normally go with are away, is it still possible to get tickets for the coach?

I really want to go Leeds, think i might just book a ticket myself as long as there's a way to get there, really don't fancy driving for some reason.

The temptation to see a Rover's match again is just too strong
